I asked for and got it on my Irish Mk4.5 vRS hatch, so maybe Ireland is an option for you rather than the UK. It is available on the configurator on Skoda.ie

Looks good in the red. Some other impressions to add to other peoples. It seems like Skoda listened to the feedback on dislikes on the MK4 and fixed/changed a bunch * No pretend sound * Easy switch between standard cruse control and adaptive (and travel assist) * Easy turn off/disable of wireless charging * Wireless charging cooling * Infotainment s/w is very responsive I am sure there are others.

Driving my FL VRS for the last 3 weeks - no sign of electronic engine noise on this version (Ireland). And no option to turn any sound on/off in drive settings either. Which is great as I did not want it!

So here are some quick comments to add to artery's great initial review. I got the car 4 days ago and it is great. Still have not pushed the power given the burn-in time but it still feels very quick. But in a much more refined way than the Mk5 GTI it is replacing. The large screen is really nice, and doesn't dazzle at night like I was worried it would. Only downside of it is that I have to stretch a little to reach the far side of it. There is no "fake engine" generator, this is Ireland model so right hand drive. This is an option in the menus to disable the wireless charging, I think there was a topic on older models with hardware solutions for that.

Picked mine up - will share some pics when I get the chance to take them. Very happy. Doesn't seem to have the sound actuator, at least I could not find any setting for turning off in the indivusal mode. It sounds OK, still a lot quieter than my really old GTI, but much more comfortable. It is quick, but doesn't feel it as much as the GTI!

I know it is NOT the uk, but I am collecting my Irish one tomorrow. Would have thought the spec would be very similar to UK one - at least the pedals are on the correct side... Not sure I believe your dealer.

Just got a Skoda activation email this evening. Seems my black one is on the way too.

My 18 year old golf gti with mechanical dial has 8000 max on the tacho, but the redline is at 6500. If that was the rough number then you would be talking at no more than about 4500. Is that what you are trying for? So no sport mode for the first while!

Thanks for the great review. I am impatiently waiting for mine to be delivered - sometime in the next 10 weeks I am told! What is the recommended break-in period?

Probably best to get official diagnosis so - mine lasts 6-12 months between errors. Good luck with it.

Probably not really helpful to you here - but I get the same error (code number and description) on my 2007 Golf GTI at random intervals. As fat as I could see it isnt really important - I use ODB11 type device to clear the error when it comes up. - hasnt created any problem in the 8 years I have had the car.

Maybe drivers in Ireland hit more things (and so would make better use of 360 view!

Mine got a build week of week 39 so a little before yours. Hopefully delivery will be reasonable after that! (Ordered Black with DCC and 360 area view).
