  1. My dealer contacted me to arrange for software update. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. They could do it sooner but I decided to get it done at the same time as first service as it's been working fine since they did "the reset" a few weeks ago (also dealer is 50 miles away). RIght now I'm happy that they contacted me !
  2. Update: I emailed the dealer and Skoda Customer service again and requested a refund. The next day the maintenance guy at the dealer called me and said that there is an issue but no fix available yet (same story). However, he did say that he could reset the system and clear the error. I asked if this was just a a battery disconnect. Instead removed the fuse and reset the system using laptop/software (I called into dealer this morning) . so far its working...I am about 50 miles from the dealer...no issues on the way home and also with a few runs since. If it fails again , I will push them again for a full refund. ..such a good car to drive when all systems are working !
  3. Does anyone know if there Is any risk of voiding warranties by using the fix(disconnecting battery and removing fuse 22 etc.) I am still chaining both the dealer and skoda Ireland...they do acknowledge the issue but still not eta on a fix Thks
  4. HI, could you let me know if you were driving the car when Skoda accepted the rejection...or if you had a courtesy car like some others on this thread. I have 8500 kms complete on my car since purchase in august while "waiting" for a fix, so I am wondering if the mileage will mean they will not accept the car back. I still have the errors but continued driving. I have asked my dealer to check with Skoda for options but they told me I just have to wait for a fix. thks
  5. Hi, i am interested in what you hear back from your dealer. I have requested my dealer to provide option for a refund or replacement. I have my car since Aug 8th and have done 8500km ((5280 miles) so I am not sure if I need to take some sort of cut for mileage. I have only got about 1000 to 1500kg of "clean" driving ..i.e. with no errors. I have not yet heard back from the dealer. My car: Skoda Superb Combi Trim Level - Selection (base model) Engine - 2.0L TDI
  6. reply below.,..... Thank you for your email. We can assure you our SKODA dealership would not have sold a vehicle to you with an issue present at that time. Your feedback regarding the fault has been logged with the SKODA factory following on from the point of sale and they are working hard to release a software update to resolve this issue. We are hoping there will be a solution in the coming weeks for this however we do not have a timeframe as of yet. Your dealership will notify you directly as soon as there is an update regarding this. As your vehicle is so new it can take some time for the factory to come to a solution. All we can advise from a customer care perspective is that we can assure your vehicle is safe to be driven in the meantime and that we apologise for the delay and inconvenience caused. We do apologise for any ongoing disappointment that may be felt. Kind Regards
  7. currently I am emailing Skoda every week...and also phoning the dealer directly for an update to make sure the keep the pressure on Skoda. This weeks is below..if I get anything of use by reply I will post it here. Dear Skoda Customer Service, Please provide an update to the Camera module issue on Skoda Superb. To date I have not received any update on when the issue will be resolved and it has been ongoing since the car was purchased. From speaking to other customers, it seems that Skoda was aware of this issue before I purchased the car (August 8th). Can you explain to me please why you allowed the dealer to sell me a car with a known fault. ? Regards
  8. with regard to the acceleration yes I agree, it took me a while to get used to it (then I lost it with the errors) ..it takes getting used to. I set set the max distance on "Front Assist" then it will only accelerate up to that distance. this helped
  9. Its not at the dealership. I am still driving it, Both dealer and Skoda Ireland assured me that it was safe to drive as per email. I love the car and love driving it...but i really liked all of the assist options (...particularly the adaptive cruise control.)..cant wait to get them back up and running what really bugs me is the same as everyone else here...i paid a lot of money for a big upgrade for me (my previous car was a 2012 Mondeo).....and while mistakes/errors can happen...what really annoys me is that both the dealer and Skoda Customer service cannot give me an eta on a fix...I seem to get a lot more information here than I do from either of them !
  10. just to add to this...when I contacted Skoda customer Service (mid Sept) below is the response I got...seems to align with Celli's comments Thank you for contacting SKODA Ireland. The errors in which are presenting on the dash are all in relation to the camera module. Our technical department who are sadly not in a customer facing role are liaising very closely with the factory regarding an update on this fix in which will result in a solution to these warning messages. Sadly there has been no update as to when this fix be released and we can not provide you with a date. Safety is paramount to us here at SKODA Ireland and we must advise your vehicle is safe to be driven at present. We can only apologise for the inconvenience this has caused to you and please be assured we are continuing to monitor the case closely. Kind Regards
  11. Hi all, I still have the same problem and I have been chasing both the dealer and Skoda Customer service. They have not yet given me an ETA on the fix but confirmed that it is with the camera modules and could be weeks/months (but not years!) before they get the update from the factory to resolve. The dealer confirmed that this is an issue with a lot of cars they have sold...both Skoda and VW. It seems there are a lot of customer waiting for a fix. My current position is to wait until end of October and if no fix is in place I will take the legal route.
  12. Update: spoke to the dealer and they are saying that Skoda are aware of an issue and are working on a solution (seems that there a more with the same problem). they offered no timeline as they are waiting on Skoda to send the update. I called Skoda customer care They said to speak to the dealers. I explained that i already had spoken to them They asked was it an issue related to the camera ...i confirmed that is was and explained lane assist, ACC, distance control errors etc. They said that it was a problem that they are aware of and they are waiting for the factory to issue an update to resolve the problem She could not give me a eta on the resolution except that it would likely be weeks and not months I ask for a contact number/person from the factory but they did not give it to me (factory are not customer facing). I did lodge a formal complaint and received a complete reference number
  13. 12 days aft the issue being fixed ....same erros are back. i am going to phone the dealer again on Monday...(_probably best i have the weekend to calm down !) has anyone esle had this issue repeated ?
  14. Hi all, I am just back from the dealer. They did a software update and the issues are now resolved. The update took approx. 2.5 hours including a test drive. Not sure why this was not done as part of the sale 3 weeks ago. I could not get a straight answer on that.
  15. Did you try to turn on the windshield wipers for a m Hi, yes...since last Friday there was a lot of Rain...so windscreen wipers were on a lot
