  • Hello from Latvia! I also bought a Škoda Superb L&K 2.0TSI 4x4 (delivered in May 2024). Everything was fine until October 2024 (I drove around 5000 km at that point). I got 7 warnings related to

  • My wife's Superb was updated a week ago on 2nd December and there have been no problems since. She drove 320 miles at the weekend and all was well.   She's finally starting to enjoy the car

  • I got my car back yesterday,  33 miles on, no problems.  I know that is not far, but went wrong after 10 miles when I got it . So, let's hope,  fingers crossed!

By the way, this car is the All New Skoda Superb

Mine did this after the battery got a bit low due to me sitting in the car playing with the settings.

Try disconnecting  the battery and leaving a couple of minutes and reconnecting.

When you start it you will get more errors at first but give it a run for a couple of miles, stuff will start up again, stop, turn off, and restart a couple of times and all should be working fine

Well mine was!   (this applies to any modern car, they are only a mobile computer after all.)

I had this issue yeaterday. I tried removing the relevant fuse to no awail. Then on a whim decided to wipe the screen as usually this issue appears when the camera is blocked. Even though my windshield was fully clean before, this fixed it!! Probably the wipers moving has a software trigger built in to recheck the camera visibility and reinitiate these assist systems. I suggest you give this a try before visiting the dealership.

just to make sure we are talking about the same situation 🤓

That is correct.

As the car is brand new, I have returned it to the dealership.  They say there is a general software fault,  the factory know about the problem and are working on a software fix.

I don't know if the systems are working but faulty warning lights or if the systems are not working

20240803_070113.jpg

I have a feeling this is a software fault and I think there is also a battery problem as mine has twice suffered a low battery for no real reason other than sitting in the car adjusting the settings.

A reboot seemed to cure my car but if it happens again I will take it to the dealers.

btw, the dealer new my car had had errors as they emailed the next day to ask if everything was ok, as a reboot had fixed it I did not need to take it in.

The radar definitely worked as it adjusted the recuperation based on the distance to the vehicle in front, but the assistance features were totally off. I am happy they are working on a fix.

Sorry to hear about your 5 week stay at the shop :((

I cannot comment on the battery drain as in my case the battery is being recharged if I have it on ignition.

I moved my brand new Mk4 Superb off my drive, out of my close and around the block this morning to park it on my estate's ring road.  We were having roofing work done today so didn't want get any damage from flying debris.  My car was visible from the house all day.  When I first started it there were a host of error messages, including slightly low pressure in one tyre, but I didn't get around to checking them as I was busy.  When I moved my car back this afternoon all of the error messages had gone.  I put them down to early morning condensation on the sensors/cameras.  All of the errors had also cleared on the MyŠkoda app although the tyre pressure warning took a little longer to clear.  The car was reporting one tyre down at 2.5 bar whereas the others were correct at 2.6 bar.  When I last checked the car all four tyres were showing 2.6 bar.

How do you get it to tell you the actual pressure values? Mine is very secretive and I only get an all OK, but no values

Buy a car with an active TPMS, rather than expect a passive TPMS to be able to read tyre pressures.

Yes, it's my car telling me the actual tyre pressures rather than the app because it has the active TPMS option which I specified when I placed my order.

You make it sound like there was a factory option to select active TPMS, which there wasn’t, at least where I live.

Edit: Interesting, so it indeed was an option for you guys. Unexpected to differentiate in having this as an option or not by country. (HU here) Thanks anyways!

Yes, it's strange that options vary from country to country.  I guess that in their research Škoda establishes which options are likely to appeal, and therefore sell, on a country by country basis.

When I had my Mk3 Superb I nearly drained its battery sitting in the car playing with the settings.  This time, with my new Mk4, I'm being more cautious even though there are far more features and settings to get used to.  I have had no battery issues so far, but it's early days for me as I only picked the car up on Saturday.

If you get active TPMS and you need winter tyres it will be another £500. I had to do that on my wife's Note. 4 extra active sensors. I am very happy with passive TPMS.

On Aug 23rd (last Friday) with approx. 2000 km I  got exactly the same issue as you

  1. Side Assist is currently unavailable.
  2. Lane Assist is unavailable. Please consult owners manual.
  3. Front assist is unavailable.
  4. Proactive occupant protection system is restricted

The car is driving fine. I have it booked into the dealer to run diagnostics/fix.

Did you try to turn on the windshield wipers for a moment? Would be nice to confirm the behavior I noticed as a working or notworking workaround

Hi, yes...since last Friday there was a lot of Rain...so windscreen wipers were on a lot

Hi all, I am just back from the dealer.

They did a software update and the issues are now resolved.

The update took approx. 2.5 hours including a test drive.

Not sure why this was not done as part of the sale 3 weeks ago. I could not get a straight answer on that.

Why am I not surprised?

  • 2 weeks later...

12 days aft the issue being fixed ....same erros are back.

i am going to phone the dealer again on Monday...(_probably best i have the weekend to calm down !)

has anyone esle had this issue repeated ?

I am having the exact same issue, I took the car roughly 1 month ago (currently less then 1000km in it) . I purchased ACC from the shop, but from day 1 the distance set feature was not working, I am unable to set it, it always defaults to the middle selection. Starting from last week I am having the same issue on top of faulty ACC, the above mentioned assistant features are not working, everytime I start the car I have the 4-5 yellow warnings and beeps... I am going to the dealer in two days, we will see if they manage to fix it...

Update:

spoke to the dealer  and they are saying that Skoda are aware of an issue and are working on a solution

(seems that there a more with the same problem). they offered no timeline as they are waiting on Skoda to send the update.

I  called Skoda customer care

They said to speak to the dealers. I explained that i already had spoken to them

They asked was it an issue related to the camera ...i confirmed that is was and explained lane assist, ACC, distance control errors etc. They said that it was a problem that they are aware of and they are waiting for the factory to issue an update to resolve the problem

She could not give me a eta on the resolution except that it would likely be weeks and not months

I ask for a contact number/person from the factory but they did not give it to me (factory are not customer facing).

I did lodge a formal complaint and received a complete reference number

I had the same errors come up again last week. Turned everything off and got out and locked the car.

Left it 30 minutes and started it up again, some errors were still there but after a short distance they disappeared.

Seems a reboot fixes it,for me.
