  1. I used a Radio Scanner and it was recieving a signal on multiple frequencies all over the band's including the 400mhz frequencies. When I switched it off they disappeared. It seems to interfere with infotainment unit as well.
  2. After months of intermittent problems i finally found out what the problem is which may be of use to any other members with a similar problem. The intermittent failure to detect my keyfob at any distance turned out to be a cheap chinese plug in Bluetooth/FM Transmitter / Battery Monitor that i had plugged into the cigarette socket which i only used to monitor the battery voltage. It was transmitting a spurious signal with harmonics across the FM band and up into the 400mhz frequency that was acting as a signal blocker to the remote receiver for the keyfob . I had ocassionally unpluged the offending device so as not to drain the car battery and i had not spotted that this is when the keyfob range reduced massively . I tested the horrible device and it was sending signals all across the keyfob frequencies.
  3. Where's the receiver located in the car ?
  4. I have an intermittent problem with my 2021 Skoda Karoq with the range of the keyfob. It changes from being able to lock / unlock the vehicle from long range ( approx 30 - 40 metres ) to less than 1 metre. I originally connected it to whether you were logged in as a primary user or a guest but it's not consistent. I have changed the keyfob batteries multiple times and both key fobs suffer the same problem.
  5. I phoned the Skoda Head Office and explained the situation but the female employee denied that there had been any such problem ( kangarooing issues ) and dismissed my research as false internet rubbish.
  6. That's what I have in motion at the moment, I did enquire that they may have a good relationship with their local VW Skoda dealership and I am awaiting a response from them. I don't think the warranty covers software updates unfortunately.
  7. No I bought it from Vauxhall Baylis in Stroud. The engine software version is 0863 . The symptoms I get particularly when cold is a varying throttle at low revolutions ( say 750-1200rpm )making the car lurch forward in slow traffic. The power will also fade to nothing if you allow the revs to drop too low in 2nd gear.
  8. Thanks very much for this information, I will contact the dealership with this information. 👍
  9. I have recently purchased a 2021 Skoda Karok which I believe has got the famous 1.5 TSI engine " Kangaroo issues" . Skoda UK deny any historical software issues as rumours that I have found on the internet. They want me to pay £115 diagnostic fee and £150 an hour to investigate and if necessary update the software. My engine software version is 0863 . I have a warranty from the dealer I bought it off but it doesn't cover diagnostic fees or software updates.
  10. I have recently purchased a Skoda Karoq 2021 registration which I have had problems concerning registering a new user. There were no previous registered users only a guest. I had not had any problems whilst using the guest option. I was a computer technician so I am capable of setting up this sort of device. I registered as a new user including setup of the app on my Android phone. Initially I was unable to get the new username to load and despite multiple attempts I left it at that. Recently the screen greeted me with my name and allowed me to login and become a primary user. This is when my problems started, the infotainment unit seemed to have reset to default and everything had reverted to kilometers and litres etc. I reset everything to miles end gallons etc and all seemed ok. During a drive using Android auto and Google maps the infotainment system kept saying the Mobile phone had disconnected despite being wired into the USB C socket. The second problem was that the central locking key fob seemed to stop working eventually diagnosed as being very limited range. Installed new batteries in both key fobs etc. I had to stand really close to the front car door for it to work. I was baffled and as a last resort logged out of my username and logged back in using the guest account and the key fob range returned back to normal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
