  1. Evening. I have a Mk4 '21 plate VRS At the last service, there was an advisory on both front lower arm bushes. The garage wants over £300 to replace them - I'd rather do it myself with some Powerflex ones. I just want to be 100% sure these are correct before ordering: https://www.powerflex.co.uk/.../Front+Wishbone.../502.html https://www.powerflex.co.uk/.../Front+Wishbone.../12002.html I also figured while I'm down there, I'll replace the dogbone mount, as I have some horrendous wheel hop if I drive with 'spirit'. Would you recommend replacing the bushes, or are the bush inserts relatively equivalent? 2. Long gone i'm afraid. They've replaced them with some benches with the names of the rides inscribed on them! I'm actually from Essex though. I consider myself an honorary northerner now though as I've been here 13 years, never want to move back and understand how everyone talks!
  3. Thanks - I'm in Whitley Bay.
  4. Thanks - It's not late, but I've given up taking battery out and all that as I need to drive the car daily. I'll have a look underneath and see if it's doable. Pity it isn't as easy as it was in cars from 2000+
  5. Hi all, I've had a search of this forum and the technical guides (and Google) but I can't find a version for the Mk4 Octavia (RH drive). I hoped the Mk3 would work, and it does exactly match, however there's some additional plastic/wiring in the way. I've removed the battery and a few clips/cables to get a look at the firewall. I can't even see a grommet through there though. I've tried going in from the other end - I've completely removed the glovebox and the surround + the amp and can't see any grommets there either. I could take it to an auto electric place but I'd be looking at a £150 bill for fitting a cable for a £100 piece of kit - fitting an underseat sub. Anyone had any luck with theirs? Thanks
  6. Hello all, Long-ish time lurker. Been using Briskoda to help with working out things in the car. Driven a Mk1 Ford Kuga, then a Kia Sorento and got tired of driving a brick and quickest car i've had to date is a Golf Mk4 GTTDI which has nothing on my 21 plate Octavia VRS. Persuaded the Mrs that the Octavia is as good as the Sorento for transporting stuff - Boot is only 20 litres smaller! So far I've: Added 15mm spacers on the back and 12mm on the front Turned off the stupid engine noise emitter from inside Added normal cruise control as I don't like adaptive replaced the stock air intake with a Racingline R600 replaced the turbo muffler with a straight through. Stage 1 remap removable swan neck towbar added I've bought an underseat amp to give the sound system a bit more oomph, but struggling to find a reachable grommet in the firewall to get power Also planning on getting a nicer sounding exhaust at some point, although I don't want it sounding like a wet fart.
