Replacing front lower arm bushes

Featured Replies

Evening.

I have a Mk4 '21 plate VRS

At the last service, there was an advisory on both front lower arm bushes. The garage wants over £300 to replace them - I'd rather do it myself with some Powerflex ones.

I just want to be 100% sure these are correct before ordering:

I also figured while I'm down there, I'll replace the dogbone mount, as I have some horrendous wheel hop if I drive with 'spirit'.
Would you recommend replacing the bushes, or are the bush inserts relatively equivalent?  IE https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/powerflex/powerflex-lower-dogbone-mount-insert-kit-pff85-830-pff85-832/

Thanks

I'd leave them until they actually fail. I've had an advisory on $item in Dec YYYY, no mention of it in Jan YYY(Y+1), and indeed in the next 5 years.

I did the dogbone mount on my wife's car, Powerflex PFF85-833.

Failry easy to do, but had to cut out the original bush - has a plastic sleeve so is pretty easy. Then used the car jack to press in the new one.

A bit more NVH on start-up and thats about it, no more massive thunk when the front wheels spin.
