Thank you, that is oddly really helpful because when I Google, it is one of those odd jobs that falls between many areas and 'ordinary' garages don't seem to have the knowledge. Fingers crossed to having my music back!

I can imagine the satisfaction, but for me just stress.

Hey Jonny, thanks for getting back to this query. I am impressed and rather envious you managed to do this and as you say, it's such a financial saving. I may be splendid at various things, computer literate, lecturing or even metal-work...but car maintenance, it's sadly a hard no. As a female, tinkering or specific tools hasn't really happened in my world! When I asked the local garage they said they couldn't even reset it back to factory settings because they weren't able to remove the screen to access controls. I might try showing them your description to see if that explained it more clearly for them. Thanks again.

Ha, it must be something they put in the water!

Hey thanks Prezafab. Sadly I know I won't get this type of job done myself, not my area at all. Glad you found a solution to your problem. I imagine you are more motivated and patient than I am

Hi there, following on from Jonny's post which I thought excellently articulated the problem - my info system on a Skoda Yeti 20217 has also gone off the rails! It's like there is a ghost in the machine which invisibly switches radio stations and calls people whilst no one is actually touching the screen. As it is currently my main source of playing music - it is deeply frustrating. The indicating screen when you're reversing still works. I really only use it for playing music, a few handsfree calls and the reversing screen. I've gone through the helpful responses about attaching a new screen yourself after purchasing for Amazon etc, but think I can safely say that won't be happening here. I am not a car fixing person. So wondering if anyone knows someone good (but not at the dealership price) to repair it in the Somerset area too? I am desperately missing driving and listening to music but work is currently thin on the ground, and can't afford the dealership price. Your help appreciated, thanks. (I know this isn't a new issue, and I have looked around the forum for specific answers, but the Infotainment head unit in our 2017 Yeti has gone off the rails! It flashes around all functions and will randomly dial telephone numbers as well as switching radio channels etc. The touch screen seems dead and the menu selection buttons do nothing. Safest thing is to turn it off!
