  1. I replaced the heater core. Since I couldn’t find a video about this specific combination (Octavia 4 + 5WA819031), here are a few notes to share with others: a) Most shops sell a heater core for my car with the code 5Q0819031, and I even managed to order one before realizing that the correct part is 5WA819031. Physically check which heater core is actually installed in your car before ordering. b) Look for the screw for footwell air duct on the right of the steering column (on my left-hand-drive car). c) The plastic part of the center console gets in the way. I bent it aside. d) The clamp screws are very difficult to access. When installing the new heater core, it would be wise to position them in a more accessible way to make the job easier next time. Compared to the Octavia III, there is significantly less space to work with.
  2. How difficult is this replacement on an Octavia 4? I have the 1.0 TSI 81 kW. I’m thinking about doing this job myself too, but I haven’t yet found any good Octavia 4 video guides.
  3. If the coolant reaches the correct temperature properly, then touch the coolant hoses in the engine room that go to the heater core. If the inlet is hot and the outlet is only warm, then the heater core is likely clogged.
  4. Octavia 4 HB inner rear tail light: Didn't try to open it more, but dried it 24 hours until all the moisture had evaporated. I identified a few places on the light where water could have gotten in, so I put DoneDeal silicon there. Fortunately, no more water got into the light after the tests. Unfortunately, the dashboard still throws an error message to check the rear right turn signal. OBD showed error code B16D7F4 "intermittent", after several attempts to clear it, it gives the same code with the status "static". The tail light actually works, as do all the other functions of the light, including the dynamic welcome effect. If you open the car doors, the dynamic turn signal function works, but if you use it while driving, it doesn't. What would you recommend doing next? Or can't you get rid of the error code and the light needs to be replaced?
  5. Octavia IV 2021 HB If your taillights have condensation and some water, be sure to contact the dealership during the warranty period and leave a note at least that the problem started then. I didn't register it and now I'm dealing with it myself. There is water inside the inner taillight (full-LED) on the hatch with dynamic turn signals and a light is on in the dash that says the rear turn signal needs to be checked. Very annoying, because turn signal flashes very quickly when switching to this one side. Also, dynamic function is turnd out, flashes like normal turn signal. As a positive surprise, it turned out that there are three holes inside the trim (on both sides) where you can access the light screws (the negative is that the screws don't come through these holes and the trim still has to be disassembled, at least from the corner). I'm now trying to get the water out of the light, I've removed the three screws inside the light as well, but my question is, can't you still open the housing or it's glued?
