  1. Thanks for replies thus far! Unfortunately I have a concern regarding the replacement battery exact version. The "096" as recommended here also features with several vendors when I enter the registration number into their websites. However the fitted battery seems to be different, yet its manufacture date match the first registration of my Scout. Is the "096" an upgrade compared to the "7P0 915 105" currently fitted?
  2. I think my battery is close to failing. The start-stop system is permanently auto inhibited and the cranking sounds laboured. Resting voltage is 12.05 and 15.03 with engine running. Existing battery is a Varta AGM and deciphering the datecode would imply it is the original, having a manufacture date of October 2015. Nearest independent Skoda specialist has quoted £250 for Yuasa or £330 for Skoda original, (which I assume is a Varta) including coding. Does this all sound reasonable to experts in this forum? 3. Off-side rear caliper was found leaking and replaced. New rear discs and pads were installed in October. I wonder if the seals were stressed when presumably the pistons were retracted?
  4. It's an auto. Apologies for not specifying.
  5. Yesterday I got the impression that this dealership is too big to care. Following a catastrophic brake failure they were unable to accept my recovery and offered me a first available appointment in SIX WEEKS! I was almost speechless!
  6. Something very similar just happened to my Scout. It has been parked up for 2 months. A lot of travel in the pedal when I went to start it. Once engine running the pedal went to the floor! "Brake Fluid Reservoir" caution popped up. Indeed it looks empty. No obvious fluid seen on the floor. I dare not drive it, so very expensive RoboLift recovery awaited from basement of a multi-story carpark. Any ideas what is wrong? If this is master cylinder seal failure, where has all the fluid gone? Why would there be such a catastrophic failure after being parked up for 2 months? Brake fluid flush last done 5 months ago.
  7. Greetings to All! Having taken the plunge to buy my first ever Skoda (Octavia Scout) and my first ever experience of DSG / automatic transmission it made sense to join up here with some kindred souls! For sure I have a lot of questions and uncertainties so I will be trawling through the various discussions here to try and find some answers. Looking forward to some exchanges with you good folks and I hope to be able to make some positive contributions in the future. PB
