  1. Thanks for the update. 😁
  2. I have a 2024 2.0 tdi 4x4 l&k estate and my real world figures are almost exactly the same as gareth71 above. Have a few annoying software issues with the infotainment system doing things I don't want it to, and more severe issues with my third party towbar, but the 193 4x4 diesel engine is punchy and accelerates well when you need it to, and has performed flawlessly running up and down the A9 between inverness and Glasgow, in the almost 2 years I have owned it.
  3. If this works pkease let us all know, so that I can March down to my local skoda dealer fully prepared.
  4. Well done Scotjimland, and thanks for that summary on your new tow bars performance. Best of luck and I wish you many happy miles towing.
  5. I bought an autovox wireless reversing camera and use it on constant transmit, to monitor what's going on behind my caravan. the monitor sits nicely on the windscreen snd you can disable the reversing grid.
  6. Nice one scotjimland. It pays to be persistent. Well done you. SW
  7. Shocking, but not surprising. When I was buying my L&K estate it had towbar preparation fitted and as skoda could not initially supply a skoda towbar, my skoda dealer was actively recommending a nearby independent towbar fitting service. I hung out for the genuine skoda towbar to be released (9 months i waited) but it wasn't forthcoming and in the end I was forced to have an independent, fit a quality detachable towbar. Perhaps it's time skoda took responsibility for this fiasco before someone's vehicle comes to a dead stop on a live carriageway for no reason. Not impressed with skoda right now.
  8. Well done you for doing all this. The issues you describe are exactly the same as what I experience when I'm towing. Please keep posting any updates you have on pursuance of obtaining the necessary coding and rectifying the situation. And thanks. Stuartie.
  9. Hi jador. At the top of the infotainment screen on the right are several shortcut buttons that are always visible. You can customise these buttons. As you can see in blurry pic no 1, I have auto hold as a shortcut and it is highlighted green showing that it is active. By pressing it it turns white, deactivating the auto hold function. I find this useful at times especially in low speed, limited space manoeuvres . To edit the shortcuts do the following: Press and hold any icon in the shortcut bar, which will open the edit menu Select the functions you want then press finish. Hope this helps. See pics Ps. Sorry. No pictures. I can't figure out how to reduce the size of my pic files so that they will upload 😬
  10. Hello all. As promised some pics of my "bespoke" mk 4 superb towbar hole cover. Apologies for the quality of some of the under vehicle shots, so you may have to zoom in to see them clearly. As previously stated I used the black plastic lid from a storage container, and the white flexible tabs (used to hold the cover in place) are cut from the walls of a Chinese food container. This seems to be rigid enough to hold the cover but flexible enough to bend into place on the inside of the bumper hole. I have usedsmall bolts holding the tabs to the lids but I reckon a decent adhesive would do the job just as well. Just leave the edges free for flexibility. The curly plastic lanyard is a failsafe, in the unlikely event the cover comes off at speed ( ehich it hasn't). Any questions, just ask. Some more pics
  11. Thanks for that pgfife. As previously said my 2027 shogun, my wifes car and all my friends cars work fine, so it's not the signal up here. I am reluctant to out it into skoda as they will likely rip out the roof lining and possibly replace the shark fin antenna, and I can't be bothered with all the hassle. Thanks though. S.
  12. Hi Dave747 and others. I tried unplugging all my gadgets to see if it aided radio reception and sadly it did not. The DAB signal is still a bit "hit and miss" and I would normally put it down to my location in Inverness, in the Highlands of Scotland but, as previously said, it does not seem to be an issue for other cars. Fyi it does the same in and around bigger cities like Glasgow too. Thanks for the tip though.
  13. Hi there. I had a detachable towbar fitted to my L &K estate in March 2025 and could not believe the amount of crap that had accumulated inside the rear bumper in the 9 months since I got the car, because of this very same hole. I put the same question to my local Skoda dealer who did not know. In the end I made a custom cover myself out of the black plastic lid of an old storage box, cut to shape, and some bits from the shed. It seems to work quite well. As soon as the rain stops I will post a couple of pics which will hopefully inspire you and others in the same position.
  14. Thanks Dave. As it happens I am using several other gadgets in the car. I will give this a try report back in a week or so. πŸ€”
  15. I own a mk 4 superb L&K, 2.0 tdi 193hp 4x4 estate purchased july 2024 I know this is minor on the scale of things but the DAB radio function on my car is absolute rubbish and has been from day 1. The radio reception is intermittent to bad, and pics up a digital signal only about 10% of the time, including even the good strong stations. I am reluctant to give it to the dealer who will switch the radio on, it will probably work, and they will say "what's his problem?" But honestly, it is so bad that I end up listening to classic fm, as the fm radio reception is OK. The issue is just with the DAB on the infotainment system. My old 2017 shogun and my wife's new kia niro, used in and around the same area, have superb radio reception (no pun intended), so it's not the lack of signal, and I just want to ask if any of you other mk4 superb owners have experienced similar issues with the DAB and is there a fix for it? Thanks in advance.
  16. Does your car have a sunroof of any description? In my experience that type of water ingress is usually attributed to a sunroof drain hose being blocked or disconnected. Or, similarly either the front or rear door seals on the passenger side but I'm sure the skoda mechanics will have thought of that. Can't help you with your main question though but I would have thought at if you car is letting in water to the extent shown in the picture then its not fit for purpose. Perhaps that is an option you could explore if needed.
  17. πŸ‘nice one.
  18. Hi biggraeme. The downward force that your trailer exerts down on the vehicle towbar is very important for safe and vehicle stability when driving. If it not enough, your trailer willnoscillate at speed and you will lose it. Too much will also cause you issues. My advice is to Look up you tube if you are not sure and they will explain it in detail, but all that wight on the rear of your trailer sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. 😬
  19. Hi there biggraeme and congrats on your new car. Re the virtual boot pedal thing. I ended up deactivating that cos I have dogs and when messing about at the rear of the car with them, the boot kept closing. Likewise when messing about fitting My detachable towbar the same thing was happening. So off it goes. When pulling a trailer, you as you rightly said you need to go into the menu and deactivate the rear manoeuvre braking to avoid that alarming "slamming of the brakes on" when reversing. Just remember though you have to re do this every time you switch the engine off. Happy (and safe) towing. πŸ™‚
  20. Hi there Derek. Not sure what level of tech you have but in my 2024 L&K, there is a facility to adjust the headlamps for continental driving, as well as changing the speedo to kph. I may be mistaken but I thought this was standard across the range. Can you check your infotainment system by going into VEHICLE then HEADLIGHTS. if you have this but are unsure I can post you some screenshots. πŸ˜€
  21. Thanks for that Aardvark. I recall skoda directing me to a local aftermarket fitter to fit a towbar at the time I purchased the car. Anyway its done now. I will just have to put up with the inconvenience of switching off the automated rear braking system, when I have a trailer on. As timnus said, mabye years from now we will get to claim against the manufacturer for mis information. Pity. The car I'd fantastic otherwise. Thanks all.
