check if there is a drain on the electrics, a dash cam or something recently added, what does it look like when you try starting

BKD Replacing Turbo.
right, hi all, i have upgraded and fitted a hybrid turbo, removed all Egr components, blanked off etc, also i cleaned out engine oil sludge from top, flushed out a few times and absolutely cleaned the sump out. Now, i tried to start the car, it is not happening, I can't make sense of it, i need to be on the road, been working on it roadside for vest part of two months, around other commitments, fuel has quarter tank, i am content it isn't fuel or battery, but that is me, anybody have any wisdom to share ??!!? petal_20250212_192329.mp4

BKD Replacing Turbo.
i took out the turbo, but the oil feeder pipe had to be cut out, i have bought a braided one now, doing research it turns out it's good practice to change the oil feeder pipe anyway, i ended up taking the rocker cover off, came right out the top. thanks for the reply.

so, how do you take the turbo out from the top ? the bottom i didn't want to remove things, but out the top seems implausible, really frustrating.

2.0 TDI BKD low mileage running problem help
who ever got people started on drain cleaner on an alloy needs dealing with, these alloys go porous and start degrading after that treatment, best to take out and hand clean, carbon and grime build up and most people seek the easy fix. rant over, sorry

2.0 TDI BKD low mileage running problem help
mr muscle is bad, it corodes the metal, i would advise never do that, a good solvent designed for engines work, egr, dpfs kill engines.

2.0 TDI BKD low mileage running problem help
well half a tank in my golf which had egr taken off and dpf, local mileage i get was 300miles ish, not motorway, my octavia before i cleaned egr a asv was 215 miles half tank, after clean was near 240 ish miles, the EGR & DPF really do harm, without EGR my golf seems quieter, more responsive too and that still has original turbo at 173,000 miles on the clock.

2.0 TDI BKD low mileage running problem help
the bkd turbos from stock go around 120,000 miles, the siren is the turbos last cries, replace the turbo whilst you have a choice. I have the exact car and i waited to find it, but i was duped the car had blag MOT's and the underneath is getting redone, i thought i had time, but turbo failed before i got round to it, if you can, recon your turbo and get hybridised, should last alot longer. works out cheaper, but better aswell for the car. i hope this helps.

Hi All - BKD Turbo issue
My turbo needs to come out, google hasn't been helpful as I wanted. Lack of good mechanics so I am getting stuck in. I am upgrading my turbo and I want to get rid of the EGR system too, but I have hit snags. I want to get my octavia to a showroom condition and so sorting things out. In the engine bay I have taken out the air filter all the way to the turbo intake, I took the T30 at the top of the intake - but underneath I have no space to get my grips to release the bottom of the turbo intake from the bottom. In the engine bay I disconnected the big silver EGR pipe from the EGR valve to the EGR cooler but I can't take it out. NOW, underneath the turbo, I had to uno the oil pipe from the turbo, but I need to remove it from the engine block as behind it sits the bottom bolt of the turbo. Now back up top, if I get the bottom stuff open, how can I take off the EGR cooler and the EGR , then I think I could remove the 8 bolts of the inlet and finally remove the turbo. I only opened one side of the prop shaft to make space, but I haven't much room as I am working from my garden with the car up just so high. I will share anything I know, for now I need help please, help with the Turbo.
