  1. Thanks. I'll investigate/experiment a little further and let the garage know what I'm experiencing.
  2. Left side button controls volume just fine.
  3. Didn’t know about that. Where would I look, please? I don’t have any diagnostic tools, BTW.
  4. 2018 Karoq 2.0 TDI 4X4SE L. Right roller wheel on steering wheel seems to work intermittently to access menus and change display. I have tried to follow the manual but don’t know if I’m missing a simple trick. Both yesterday and today, when rolling the wheel, nothing changed on the display (e.g. speed, to range). Pressing the right button next to it (two screens superimposed) did not bring up any option to change the menus on the display. After about half an hour, functionality seemed to return. Is it to do with the speed of the car (didn’t work in town but did on the motorway!)? Thoroughly confused. Intermittent fault, maybe, that’s impossible to replicate? Should the roller wheel and the ‘menu’ button always give a change in the display? Please advise. Car going to garage next week so would be nice to know in advance nice what to say to them about it. Thanks
  5. Thanks. Just removed Skoda SD card and put it into PC. Capacity only 14.8 GB, of which 12.7GB is the 'maps' folder on it. There is nothing else in the root directory. The European maps from the update site is 17GB, so I guess I will need to find a 32GB Skoda SD card - although no-one seems to mention the card capacity when they list them on eBay. My card is 5L0 051 236AH. Most listed cards are the same. A few are 5L0 051 236 BA. But there is no indication of how these are different to the ones ending 'AH'. Not sure how I'm supposed to find a 32GB Skoda SD card...
  6. And, having read back through a number of threads, some are saying categorically that you have to reformat the Skoda SD card because no other will work. Yet the update instructions from the update portal seem to suggest that you can use any 32gb or 64gb card. So confusing!
  7. Just a thought... Can I use a Micro SD card in an SD card with adapter?
  8. My confusion comes from Skoda's own guidance manual - https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/Download/amundsen_MIB_2.pdf. Instruction 1 says: "Withdraw the Skoda original SD Card from your vehicle. This card has a security chip, so other cards will not work. Please note that the Infotainment unit will load maps from the SD card. - Recommended SD card size is 32GB." But instruction 7 says: "Insert your SD card back into your SD card reader inside your vehicle (Does not matter which one you will choose – Slot 1 or Slot 2). - Once you insert the SD card the map will show." So... no other card will work, but take it out anyway and use another card! :) I can but try... Thanks for suggestions so far.
  9. Just a quick clarification needed for 2018 Karoq SE L with 8.2" Amundsen system. There are two SD card slots. SD1 already had a Skoda-branded SD card titled 'Europe 1'. SD2 is empty. Do I need to remove the existing Skoda SD card from SD1 and replace it with the one I have formatted and put the new maps on? Or do I use SD2 instead and leave the Skoda SD card in SD1 slot? If I'm using SD1 for the new SD card and maps, what is SD2 for? Thanks.
  10. Ok. So no option for this if I have Varioflex seating 😥 Thanks for the info.
  11. Ok. I shall investigate further. I guess the existing boot floor then sits on top of the polystyrene inserts and the space saver, raising the whole floor by the thickness of the space saver wheel?
  12. Thanks. I'll have to investigate whether the skinny spare + accessories can be added to the car - 4x4 with Varioflex seating. When I lifted the boot liner it was completely flat underneath. No recess at all for any kind of wheel - skinny or otherwise. I'll see if there are hooks to hold cargo nets and buy some nets from somewhere...
  13. Thanks, thamestrader. Did you get the space saver and kit from Skoda, or 3rd party? I have the Varioflex seating and there didn't appear to be any recess under the boot liner that works accommodate a spacesaver - am I missing something? And those lovely cargo nets - also from Skoda or eBay? Where are they attached? Thanks for all advice so far.
  14. Ok. So as long as I follow Skoda approved wheel/tyre size combinations, I won't be invalidating insurance? But best to inform insurers of any change I do make? Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the swift response. Haldex serviced in 2021 at 11,000 miles. It's done another 12,000 in the last 4 year. I'm intending to get Haldex oil change and gauze clean (plus relearn) done as soon as I get the car. Would I need to go down to 17" or 16" to get noticeable benefit on ride and pothole-absorbing abilities? Or would 18" be ok? I think the 4x4 have slightly deeper (+5mm) sidewalls than 2x4 equivalent?
  16. Hi, All. New owner seeking first support. Maybe answered before but up-to-date advice always grateful. Dealer (Marshall Honda, Peterborough) is offering 36-month extended warranty for £1100, Skoda Plus warranty is £1350. Need to see exactly what each offers in comparison. Anyone have experience with either of these warranties, or are there 3rd party or independent warranties that are better? Karoq is fitted with 225/45/r19 Yokohama BluEarth GT (AE51) wheels/tyres. On test drive they felt firm, but didn’t push them and roads were dry. Will I get noticeable difference in ride/comfort/braking/handling in wet if I go to 18/17/16 inch wheels and fit something like Continental AllSeason Contact 2? There is no spare wheel, nor any room for any it appears. I guess I’ll have to rely on the squirty can of goo? Thanks in advance for support. Nibbos
