  1. i'll check the things you mentioned, thank you
  2. so just checked, milage is just under 35k. Service last October was interim smaller service so this year it's due the full service, spark plug change.
  3. yes that sounds correct
  4. Thanks for replying, it's a 71 plate. A 1.6 petrol i believe. Hopefully the change in petrol like you suggest. I bought the car last July and had it serviced by the garage I've used for years. I'll check if they did the air filter. Also good idea about the spark plugs, i'll try and find out if the last owner had them done. From memory the car is approaching 40k. Perhaps just best to get them replaced rather than wait to breakdown
  5. Hi, driving along last night, suddenly as i pressed the accelerator in third gear the car jittered. Then the engine light came on flashing on and off repeatedly. I drove slow then turned the car off. When i turned it back on to drive home the engine had gone. I went to car settings and it mentioned stop/start error. Now a few days ago i turned off the stop/start function as i heard it can caused wear. I don't know if thats related or whether i have a spark plug, injector and catalytic convertor problem or none of the above. any suggestions welcome. I will take it to garage soon to go on the diagnostic machine
  6. ok thanks i'll give the cup holder area a go. Not sure why it locked me out though
  7. a couple of days ago i put my coat in the boot and closed the boot lid and walked away. Later i realised my key was in the coat pocket. The car was in a secure car park so i hadn't tried to lock it. The car locked itself with the key in the boot so i was locked out and had to travel home to get the spare. Yesterday I purposely walked away from the car with the key in my hand, it sat there for a few hours unlocked. I'm confused and don't know why it locked the other day
  8. hi, yesterday I accidentally left my key in the boot of the car (it was in my coat). I was in a secure car park so never thought to lock it. I returned to the car about one hour later and found it locked. I had to go home and get the spare key which was dead. I used the secret hole to open the passenger door and climbed into the boot. used the fob to tun off the alarm and drove away. Today in the same car park i have walked away from the car, leaving it unlocked on purpose to se what happens. The car remains unlocked several hours later!? The key was on a pouch to stop transmitting and also tested out of the pouch. Why did it lock yesterday when the key was in the boot ? and would it have locked if the key was left on the drivers seat ? Also I tested the dead key against the stop/start button and the plastic area on the steering wheel and it didn't charge it enough to start the car.
