  1. Marcus can I ask when you swapped the pump how did you get on with the hydraulic hoses? I see one has a metal clip, is it a single use clip? The other hose has a screw fastener - did this have an o-ring seal too or not? Just eyeing up the job to see if it's within my abilities & tools, thanks.
  2. How did you get on - was it a pump failure?
  3. What is the route and sequence of the screenwash system? Tank, then motor pump, then divider to front or back? If so where is the divider joint please?
  4. I've cleaned the jet, and looking in the tailgate the pipe going into the jet is not feeding washer fluid. Where is the split between the front and rear washer lines (as I know the front works)?
  5. Here's one - rear washer not squirting. No leak from anywhere. Carpet in rear passenger footwell is only very slightly moist. Motor engages when I press the washer lever. Front washer works fine. Is there some way that the washer pump won't be getting any water to the rear but can still supply the front jets?
  6. My symptoms were: intermittent PS, sometimes heavy sometimes light as a feather. Flickering dash and head lights on and off slight whirring from PAS - even when not moving the steering wheel Also (maybe less common) if I held the steering wheel at an angle away from straight the steering would subtly judder, as the PS came on and off I ordered a PAS sensor (steering angle sensor) and got this replaced, and bingo all symptoms gone now, and PS is 100% fine hope this helps
  7. just had same fault on my Fabia Elegance. Two splits in cheap hard plastic pipe. It was possible to actually hear the vacuum sucking air in here. Why the garage didn't notce this noise or the 2 1" long splits is beyond me - they wanted to charge me £300 for a new tandem pump to 'fix the fault' - LANGHAM Motors Leicester. Won't be goign back to them ever again. So I bodged the splits with duct tape to test and will pick up replacement part when Parts Dept is open
  8. Hi can anyone recommend a good indie garage for my Fabia in Leicester area? Or in the opposite any places to avoid
  9. Hi which were the fuses for the audio please? I have the same problem I think. And also did you end up with the leads red to yellow etc?
  10. Hi folks anyone any suggestions where to start with this? I have the engine warning light (electronic engine management) and traction warning light (traction control system) up on the dashboard. Fault codes have been read and are as follows:- 16785 17961 17604 17563 01314 The car has an occasional cold-start misfire where it hesitates on acceleration, but this clears within seconds of running and this only happens when cold. It has a new set of plugs in. The traction light warning doesn't come on until after about 10 minutes driving, the car appears to hesitate very briefly then this light comes on. Are the faults related? I'm not sure where to start with this. Skoda Fabia 1.4 16V Comfort model, 2000 X reg. thanks
  11. as soot1e said try the usual consumables - mine had a cold start misfire, rough running and the sparkplugs needed replacing
  12. hi can you explain exactly what you found here - I may have a similar problem!
