  1. Hi and apologies if it's been asked before.

Driving on the motorway earlier, lost power and a few seconds later the glow plug light was flashing.  Also 'Start-Stop Error' showed on the display.   Was able to get off the motorway and get home safely.

Called the RAC today and they were unable to get out to my location so they sent a sub-contractor out on their behalf but they just recovered the car.  The guy reckons it could be injector fault?.....I have no knowledge on these things.  I suppose the only way is to get a diagnostic reader.  Basically a rough idea of what to expect and approx costs to fix?

    Thanks in advance :)  I'm in a 2014 Rapid 90bhp

p.s. When I checked the car a short time ago the heat plug light was not flashing

  2. The autospark didn't really look. Into too much.  I just drove up with no appointment so i guess he was busy with other stuff.  He did however suggest buying a whole new fuse box from the breakers and a new heating regulator.  Then he went on to say a 30amp fuse is too much.  Reckons by the state of the blown fuse, i was lucky the car didn't catch fire.

My knowledge on this kind of thing isn't great.

I will now check for any corrosion as you mentioned and see about getting another 30amp fuse.

  3. Hi, sorry if this has been asked before.

Heater fan isn't working on any number. Called to an auto spark and he investigated the fuses.  Fuse number 32 well blown, in fact, almost melted with a big black burnt bubble on it.  The fuse was 30amp, he changed it to 15amp.  Less than 10mins of me leaving, the fan stopped working again. Any ideas?

    2014 Rapid.   Thanks in advance

  4. Hi folks,

I've seen guides on here for this but I cannot for the life of me find where the heater resistor is on my Dad's 2014 1.6 Rapid.  I have removed the glovebox but unless my eyes are painted on(which is a possibility!) I just can't seem to locate it.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Kev :)

  5. I'm wondering if anyone can help?

I've not got any of the correct sockets that will help me remove the front seats. I'm wanting to give it a good clean out and there is so much rubbish the hoover can't get!!

Can anyone provide me with the correct size of socket that I would need?

    Thanks in advance :)

  6. How'd you know it was this alignment that was done wrong and not a previous one done wrong and someone adjusting the wheel to compensate? So now it's done properly, it's out again.

Fair point yeah. Tho as someone said, I should maybe take them a spin and let them see just how bad/off it is.

  7. Hi folks,

Got 2 new front tyres today and while I was there I got the alignment done. The guy said it was off(as suspected).

My question is(and I will go back ASAP)....why is the actual steering wheel sitting slightly to the left? If I were to drive 'straight' then I'm for the other side of the road!.

  8. 'tis the season to be........sacked!

Mark Hughes is another one. Not given enough time really. Built a brand new team and no real time to make it happen.

Harry Redknapp is poised to be the next QPR manager. He has promised them a Top five finish, and European football.

    After the DFS sale ends....

  9. Possibly could be, with the brake pads dragging. Have you had any issues with bearings at all, or had them recently changed? I ask as on my Corrado, the rears were tapred bearings. I did one of them up too tight, so when it got hot and expanded, it made the hub nut glow hot! Ended up killing the new bearing, and leaving score marks in the stub axle to boot. Had to change the lot in the end, and hang my head in shame at my **** up!

    Oh dear!

I've had an issue with caliper before(got a part from breakers) so I'm thinking I've got one that was on the way out? I must mention your trouble to my mechanic just to have a look and see!.

Would I be able to continue to drive with this happening?

  10. I have this too, got it after my clutch was changed, nothing to worry about, my mechanic said its something to do with two bits of plastic clicking??

Ah right ok, tho I've not had to change my clutch yet with over 100,000 miles done! Just the clicking noise is annoying. If it's nothing serious(or building to something serious) I can live with it!
