keith52 replied to petopzdiag's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
I tried with OBD11 and the coding failed -
I got my new car beginning of November and it has exactly the same unit and software as yours. When you say its showing the road signs in kph, is that in the sat nav or do you have traffic sign recognition ? My sat nav is showing the signs correctly in mph, i dont have traffic sign recognition. The sat nav favorites and setting home destination is not working, hope they sort that out asap Touch wood everything else is working ok

Hello skoda octavi 4 Coding List and Adaption
keith52 replied to petopzdiag's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
I have OBDeleven Pro and have been able to change Lane Assist to "Last setting" I did this manually through the long coding so now one of the annoying pre-flight checks is eliminated ! Driver assistance (Module A5) this module is NOT protected by SFD so should be possible to change using any tool which supports long coding. long coding Configuration for lane departure warning KI15 change to "last setting" Don't forget to open the bonnet otherwise you cannot save the setting. The other setting I would like to change is the "Driving mode" to remember the last setting, despite extensive googling it does not seem to be possible, unless anybody knows different ? As a comment about these settings always reverting to the default after engine restart, I read online that “Lane Assist” is to be installed on all new cars from 2022 and is a "safety" system, my experience of this is its fine on the motorway but on small twisty country roads it’s a dangerous nightmare which needs to be turned OFF, I fail to see that people trying to turn off Lane assist whilst driving can be classed as "safety" improvement. The same goes for the "Driving mode" changing this requires even more button and touchscreen presses and requires taking your eyes off the road. Bring back the system in older cars where the settings are remember, with my last Octavia I set the “Driving mode” to “Individual” once when I got the car and never touched it again, this new one I am doing it every restart and not always before driving off ! -
Two weeks ago before the snow came I looked on mytyres.co.uk as a friend was looking for some winter tyres, the same ones I have Continental WinterContact TS830 195/65 R15 were about £67 each, after the snow came they had gone up to £125, now thy are back down to £94.70. Most of the other makes of winter tyres had also gone up in price but not to the same extent. It looks like profiteering to me. Buy them during the summer for the best price.

New Octavia Daylight Running Light
keith52 replied to alan1467's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I live in Sunderland and have VCDS If you want send me a PM -
I had the same problem and the only way I managed to get the "Mix" to work (once you have selected it to mix subfolders in the "Setup" "Media" menu as Stu mentions) is to put one track in the top level of the HDD where you normally only see folders then play this track and whilst it is playing select "Mix". It is not very user friendly but maybe at some time in the future Skoda will come up with updated firmware.

Finally got my V3 Sat Nav DVD from the dealer as a warranty item. As the Columbus was a factory fit, they took a copy of the invoice for the car as proof of purchase, I also returned the V2 DVD. It took them 10 weeks to sort this out !! It is still a shame that it still cannot do a full postcode search.

Octavia II Rear Distance Parking Control - Retrofit
keith52 replied to keith52's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for the information regarding the interface with the Stream display. I still need some info regarding the towbar with the retrofit kit. Does anybody have a copy of the installation instructions for the Skoda retrofit kit ??? -
Has anybody fitted the genuine Skoda kit ZGB000052296 ? Do you have the instructions ? The reason I am asking is that my car has a towbar fitted and I don’t want the system bleeping in reverse when towing, the factory fit system is disabled when towing but I don't know if the retrofit system is the same. I also see from searching this forum that the genuine Skoda kit is actually the same as the Cobra AM0158 system but the Cobra system is £50 cheaper. If there is no additional wiring / circuitry in the genuine kit to disable the bleep when towing then i may as well go for the cheaper Cobra system. Or the even cheaper systems on eBay. Keith

Stu Thanks for the info, it is all coded and working now that I got the radio code from the dealer, a process which took them about an hour. The only thing I have not yet sorted out is the address book, it downloaded it ok but where I have multiple numbers under one name only one of the numbers is visible, the last one in the list on the phone, so it seems just to overwite the previous numbers. Is this normal or just a quirk with my phone (an old Nokia 6310i) ? According to the instruction book which came with the car "If several telephone numbers in the phonebook are under one name, all the telephone numbers with the same name are loaded separately." Any ideas ? Keith

I got my Octavia with MFD3 the begining of May with V2 of the map DVD, I have been to the dealer today and they telephoned Skoda ragarding the new V3 with the postcode search, the answer is we will be treated the same as VW owners and get the V3 DVD free, they say the new disc is "in preparation" the dealer is going to contact me when it is available. I await the outcome with interest I bet we dont get a bottle of champagne though ! Keith

Finally got my new Octavia and have installed the bluetooth kit I got from Stu (thanks Stu for a very comprehensive kit of parts and the fitting instructions). Also got a Micro CAN lead when working in the US last week. I have looked at the coding for Controller 19 and the Telephone Controller 77 and on my car it is byte 5 bit 2 this is different from the instructions which says byte 3 bit 7. Do I just go ahead and tick this bit ? See attached screen shots. As this is the first time using VAG-COM I dont want to mess it up ! Any advice would be apreciated. A couple of other points regarding the instalation which may assist others 1) If you have side curtain airbags the "A" pillar and "B" pillar trims can only be removed after removing a screw hidden under the "Airbag" signs, just lever these small plastic trims out with a screwdriver. 2) I found the main harness to the radio a little bit too short to route along the aluminium crash bar, so I took a more direct route.
