  1. Brilliant - thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  2. Hi Folks, Quick newbie question... Should I only check my engine oil when the engine is warm? What engine oil should I be using in a Fabia vRS? I've been recommended Castrol TXT 505 01....is this OK in a diesel engine. Pardon the ignorance. Cheers!
  3. Hi Everyone - took delivery of my 05 low mileage Fabia vRS today. I love it already. I did have a 53 Octavia vRS which I sold about a year ago to purchase a Hyundai Tucson!? Anyway, much happier now I am back in a Skoda. Cheers!
  4. Hi Everyone, Couple of quick questions: Where can I purchase a stereo removal key, and what sort do I need? Does anyone have any recommendations for the most straightforward aftermarket stereo to fit (preferably including Bluetooth) to the MK1 Octavia. Brilliant site. Recent advice on servicing in Oxford was spot on. Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the advice guys. Much appreciated. Might have to delay the visit 'til the floods subside... Cheers!
  6. Hi everyone, I've got a three and a half year old Octavia VRs, the countdown until its second service has just begun (36,000 miles). Has anyone got a any recommendations regarding good garages in the area (Skoda, or independent VW/Audi specialists), wasn't massively impressed with the last dealer I took it to... Cheers!
  7. Marvellous - only posted a couple of hours ago and got exactly what I needed. Hmmm, engine and gearbox protector. I'll give the Dealer a ring this afternoon. Yep, I'm from North Oxford. Near the bit of the A40 where all the speed cameras have been "customised" to point skywards or have mysteriously fallen over, which is handy... Thanks to everyone who replied to my post.
  8. Hello everyone. I've had my Black Octavia vRS from new for about 6 months and I have to say its the best car I've owned! I like the fact that only those who know about cars realise what it is which really upsets BMW owners used to driving 3 inches from your bumper when you disappear in to the distance... Can anyone help me answer a question though. A friend advised that due to the fact that the car is quite low it would be a good idea to get a sump guard fitted. Does anyone know where I could get one from? Are they available from Skoda?
