  1. That light was on for about half the time we had the vRS. First 4 occasions were due to coilpack meltdown, so fair enough. (You haven't got that for sure). Then came on for a temperature sensor or something, then on and off for about a year for no apprant reason. Irritating :thumbdwn: Bit of black insulation tape does the trick

  2. Anyone have a favourite polish to use on exterior black trim, like on the bumpers, doors below the windscreen etc.

I've been using various "back-to-black" type aerosol sprays by the likes of carplan and simoniz for a long time. However I tried some Autoglym "Vinyl & Rubber care" on the exterior of my micra and the results seem pretty good. I know for sure this stuff works well on interior plastic and also things like the vRS engine cover.

Also seen as this is a liquid type spray you don't feel like your poisoning yourself with aerosol fumes so much. Anyone else used this? :)

  3. Yes he had dark, shortish hair and was late twenties/early thirties I'd say, can't say anymore since I was looking where I was driving. He overtook just before the entrance to the garden centre, just before the railway bridge as you come towards the Ferrari dealer on the Chester road. You can see how far this is from the 50 limit sign

  4. I've used Autoglym super resin & extra gloss for a few years now. Happy with the results but never over do it with the super resin as I was told that its abrasive too. The extra gloss can be used often and does give as very smooth to touch finish and resonable shine, however I'm on the look out for something better and those mentioned above look worth a try.

  5. I had a young guy do the same thing last night in a Nissan Micra I just played with him all the way down the A42. He would overtake me then slow to 55-60 MPH I would overtake then he would do the same' date=' I got so fed up of him I hoofed it as he was struggling to get past and he ate soot :D

    Ah I love Diesels [/quote']

Lol this badging thing is confusing  But believe me it didn't have any excess power there at all :P

By the way, was the micra modified at all or just standard? Some people do seem to think there the fastest thing out

  6. Driven by a muppet in the Sutton/Aldridge area. Anyone else local had any experience. Driving along the Chester road yesterday afternoon. He seems to have a problem with me doing 30 in the 30 limit through the speed cameras. So I back him up some more and then open it up to 50 once the 50 limit starts :D

Eventually he caught up and felt the need to overtake in the face of oncoming traffic. :finger:

Had a red i only, does this show the level of tune or something? didn't seem to have all that much poke

  7. The only thing I have against Armstrong is he rides two races a year, the Dauphine and the Tour. Thus I can't see him as one of the greats of the sport, not in the same league as the other 5 time winners. At least Big Mig rode the Giro, taking the double twice and other races such as Paris-Nice, Tour of Switzerland and the Worlds.

I still have some faith in Ullrich but I fear Armstrong just walking over the lot of then in the first serious mountains.

  8. When will production of the "old" vRS stop? I'm half thinking about an Ibiza FR, but with the octy at this price I'd look a bit of a prat.

Personally I don't think there will be another Octavia vRS, or if there is it will be a diesel. I'll leave you to decide which would be the worse situation

  9. Been watching on ITV2 since the start. Only spotted the comissaires Superbs so far, except last night what looked to be a couple of old shape Octy press cars.

And yes hopefully Armstrong won't win. 5 is enough, give someone else a go :D

  10. It *is* only a car, it's a much lesser investement than a house, and you leave it in places you wouldn't leave your house, so I think your analogy is kind of weak

Thats a load of tripe really isn't it? A new car is a BIG investement for some people who may have worked their backside off for a long time to be able to afford it. Wanting to keep it in top condition is not an unresonable request in my opinion.

  11. I know it's only a car' date=' but it's [u']my [/u] car.

And I don't want some muppet denting it. :(

Obviously I exercise some common sense. If it's B&Q car park on a Saturday, or in town, I park properly - but Asda on a night always has a half empty car park and I park well out of the way.

I can see exactly where your coming from. I get stick for always driving around and finding a corner space at the back of the car park, where at least they can only get to one side of the car. Have to be carefully about taking up 2 spaces, might get clamped/ticketed. Some little Hitler put a notice on my car advising me that I'd parked in two spaces in a Halfords car park once. Wouldn't mind so much but the outside wheel was only just on the line!

Saw someone drive into a car once, never even bothered to get out and look. Got him on camera and left a note on the guys window (car park at uni, he always parked in the same space) didn't contact me though.

  12. Clucth died, not my fault, dealer replaced under warranty.

Engine management warning light ( the one you get for coilpack failures has been on and off for months). Went to dealer and he decided some sensor thing needed replacing, so did this but still kept coming on. Gave some excuse about bad fuel even though we use super unleaded. Just ignore it now.

  13. Its not leased, don't want to buy it anyway, plays up too much latley. Not going to wreck it too much, just need to cover costs of all the expensive polish I've used on the bugger

  14. It transpires for what ever reason my fathers company vRS will be going back. He's basically being **** on so we're not too happy

Briskoda sticker will remain where it is, but I'll arrange so it goes back on a set of slick P6000's

If anyone wants any small fairly un-noticable parts off it shout now :D
