Amunsen MIB 1 Additional Audio Codecs
rdb replied to rdb's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Yes, have most of my portable music as flac and I convert to mp3s at 320kbs for the car, just thinking of ways to cut out that step. -

Would be interested to know what firmware others have in Amundsen MIB1. Mine is Device 5E0035874A Hardware version: 040 Firmware version: 0435 This is in an August 2014 Built L&K with Canton. Problems I have are poor zooming on navigation and restricted power output on all audio sources. Asked a well known West Yorkshire dealer to check for software update at 12 month service. Told there are none Before I follow up just wanted to find out if there is a later firmware than 0435 Thanks

Amundsen MIB1 Map Updates are now available!
rdb replied to rdb's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Just to confirm that all downloaded and installed properly for me using the downloader I did not use a separate extractor program. I understand that people have different set ups. Mine was windows 10 64 bit -
I swopped from a 2010 L&K 2.0 tdi manual to a 2014 L&K 2.0 tdi DSG. Seats are much more comfortable and bigger (wider at least) than the leathers in the old L&K DSG box is fine, I too do journeys on M42, also M6 and M1 frequently - DSG is good for tackling road works! Also great for stop go town driving.. I would not have gone for the 1.6 tdi, but I like lazy driving. My overall mpg is high 50s, but car computer shows 62! Good luck whatever you decide.

I wonder if it would be better to do the SD card using a PC running Linux rather than Windows? It is probable that the Amundsen is running Linux too and looks for information embedded in the SD card that would be invisible under Windows.I say that having unsuccessfully used raw copying tools to do the task under Windows. Hopefully someone will come along with Linux expertise to suggest a way forward (or not) It's certainly a shame not be able to make a working SD card backup

New octavia owner with a few questions
rdb replied to MARC87's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
As far a oil temp display is concerned I believe it is available on maxidot when variable servicing has been opted for. I stand to be corrected though -
Probably some gravel stuck between back plate and rear disk?

Many thanks for reply

Thanks for raising the point about iphone, Fiscon and sharkfin? Anyone know the definitive answer to this? Other than that Fiscon seems the way to go.

Have March 2010 registered L&K TDI manual, which has " 'phone prep." Maxidot, Bolero and MFSW. (has sharkfin aerial in place) Would like to have fitted bluetooth kit to use with iphone that makes best use of all of above. What are the options and costs? Any recommendations on who offers good fitting service in either West Yorkshire or the Midlands? Thank you
