Nice one. Thanks for the input.

Yeah drives fine but it's defaults to standard ecu setting.

Odd fault but recently I've had issue when accelerating. Took the Maf off and cleaned it, drove it yesterday and no joy. Still shakes and shudders when trying to accelerate. Was told to take the Maf off and drive it and see what happens. It drives fine but the traction control light came on at start up. Drive to my local supermarket and stopped then reconnected the Maf plug. It seems to accelerate fine but the light stays on. Also the temp gauge goes from 70-90 and back again. Does it all the time. I've no idea where to start. Help!!!!

That time already ? I tried this earlier but no joy -
Light comes on when car is started from cold. Turn off the engine and back on and the light doesn't come back on. Coolant level is fine and car runs as normal. Any ideas ?

octavia vrs wheel bearing change
tattoo_stew69 replied to vrsmark's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
I think the helicoil repairs are pretty solid We use them at work often enough I have know people using them to repair spark plug threads But if they insist on a new hub I shall be asking to see the old one -

Exactly what I said to him I told him im a aircraft technician in the RAF and have been for 13 years That's when he started to back track and say rather than a new hub a helicoil repair might be an option Like you said Billy even the bloody hulk would struggle to strip this threads lol -

Just had a skoda dealer in Ayr do mine They said the pinch bolt was over tightened and had stripped the threads They said they heated up the bolt to remove it, but since the hub threads are stripped I need a new hub and abs sensor I had the pinch bolt out only a couple of months ago while fitting new suspension and put the correct amount of torque to put back in I refused to believe I can strip the threads from a steel hub and bolt Needless to say I argued and the dealer said a helicoil repair might be possible rather than a new hub Will wait for the out come today -
just found it and thought i would post lol

when you go the viewing poing you can see ok but from the hotel balcony its rather restricted, was just one of the best points about the hotel for me but yes you can still view from the hill on the left of the bridge
-
just back from the hotel and sadly the view from the bridge is rather restricted now from when i stayed last year they have put up fencing around the bridge due to noise levels during race competitions non the less still a great place to stay and edgar is a top guy highly recommended
-
no worries mate glad you enjoyed

not to sure tbh but awesome gti sell some for the vrs but i think they are around £100 which is rather steep
-
im not saying you should also not saying its not going to sound the same, of course it wont but the customer service was rubbish and build quality aint great so you can compare that when its the same company
-

It's only been on two weeks but I would have expected a noticable difference straight away. It sounded the same as standard, I understand they take time to bed in but some change should be heard -

Yeah basically there is no change on idle I had heard the cat back before and it had a nice burble so was expecting that on the first start but it was no different so I'm not too sure what route to take now will have another invest and see what's avaliable I do agree it did seem to pull better straight away but I do want to hear it also but I don't won't to sound like a Chav haha
