  1. Build now updated to “early February” with the dealer expecting the car to land with them in “mid March”. Very pleased at the date being brought forward.
  2. Been told that I have a build week allocated for May (although I’ve not been told when in May). This fits with your October for April order; mine was November for May.
  3. I have a Graphite Grey SE L with Winter Pack and all round parking sensors on order. Will be interesting to see just how long it takes to arrive.
  4. Final part of this story - Registration Documentation was received today, and despite all the horror and scare stories that dealers spout (the Coventry Skoda dealer tried this tactic at the outset) that the car will be a pre-reg, I can confirm as per the Broadspeed Website that I am indeed the first registered keeper.
  5. My Fabia was ordered through Broadspeed in the UK on 11 November. Whilst I didn't take delivery until 1 March, I know from the paperwork that the supplying dealer did its delivery inspection on the car on 21 January. That's about 2 1/2 months for a factory order (I have lots of extras) and also is over the Christmas period.
  6. Further update to my Fabia from Broadspeed... After all the to-ing and fro-ing, it was delivered yesterday. So despite being told I might have to wait until 16 March, a slot was found for delivery on 1 March which was instantly accepted. Quick juggle around of days off, and I was home to meet the delivery driver at 10am who had come from Mansfield with it. The registration plates suggest it has come from Rainworth Skoda. Despite this last week being somewhat fraught, I'd still buy with Broadspeed again. The initial communication was excellent, it then went quiet until they needed payment, with the invoice being sent promptly. I should say that I paid in full for the car back at the beginning of February as I wasn't having it supplied by the dealer; rather Broadspeed were supplying directly - this is how cash purchases seem to be structured. As a result, because Rainworth had it delivered to them halfway through January but I didn't want it until March, I think Broadspeed had to pay them for it a lot earlier. The final week had plenty of telephone conversations and emails to confirm what was happening and when, and I suppose it is one of the two busiest weeks of the year which may have increased the confusion and frustration felt at times. Nevertheless I have our new car delivered earlier than I expected and at an excellent price. Worth noting that in spite of my occasionally curt sounding emails to him, Simon, the MD, is exceptionally friendly and always comes back to you if you ring or e-mail.
  7. Well, to update my question above, despite being offered a delivery date of either 3 or 4 March back at the end of January (and agreeing to 3 March), I'm now told that my new Fabia Estate bought through Broadspeed will be delivered 8 March - which it won't as I have commitments at work (moved from, ironically, 3 March). Failing that, it will be 16 March onward. I now understand why you wouldn't recommend them... I've pointed out that with these date changes, I now want to collect - so I'll see what the MD comes back with tomorrow. Very disappointed considering how good my first experience with them was. Let's see if they redeem themselves.
  8. Can I ask what you disliked about Broadspeed? I've just ordered my Fabia with them, which is my fourth Skoda and second they will have supplied. Admittedly the first time I used them was in 2008 so some time ago. For my next two vehicles I got great deals from the local dealers. When I went to order the Fabia late last year, the local dealers weren't prepared to move at all on pricing so I went back to Broadspeed. Should I be worrying?
  9. I ordered a Yeti Elegance 2.0tdi 110ps with a few extras late last year, with a total list price of £23475. I did the research online to see what I could get one for, and armed with this, I managed to knock the dealer down to £20550. I did say to him when he offered a small discount (as I was paying cash plus my 2011 Octavia as a trade-in) that I was quite happy to leave, order online through a broker as I have done peviously, and sell my car privately. I think he realised I was serious as there was a second meeting with the sales manager and then far more willingness to deal. The brokers all seem to suggest around £3k discount is achievable. I didn't quite get my holy grail of £20000 which I used as my opening offer, but realistically, I was happy to pay the slight premium to purchase from the dealer a stones throw from my house.
  10. Ordered Yeti Elegance 2.0tdi 110PS on 2 December from Listers in Coventry. Received a call the following week telling me that Shark Blue was no longer available (so order amended to Petrol Blue). Another call yesterday giving provisional build date of week five, but told to take that with a pinch of salt as the dates are always fluid. He is hoping that if that build week sticks, it can be here for March 1...
  11. Well, that at least disproves the glow-plug theory. We'll see what they have to say come Wednesday...
  12. I always wait for the glow plug lamp to extinguish before starting. Is there any need to wait longer - i.e. do the glowplugs continue to pre-heat the engine after the light goes out? Dropping it back to Skoda Tuesday night, so they can cold-start it Wednesday morning. Guaranteed it'll work perfectly for them! What is the filter that I don't want it to be anything to do with?
  13. Hi, I have an 16 month old Octavia 1.6tdi DSG with 11000 miles on the clock. Around two months ago, the car started to be intermittently reluctant to start from cold. It still starts on the first turn of the key, but cranks for a far longer time than previously and splutters/almost starts then cranks again before getting going. If I switch the car off after a few seconds of it running, and then start it again, it starts absolutely fine as I would expect. It is on a variable service plan; however, because I was worried, I took it into Central Skoda in Birmingham to have them look at it, and figured I may as well pay for a service whilst it was there - as I only keep the car until first MOT - they only usually need one service in my ownership. They said they would look at it but could not find any problems whatsoever. Anyone else had similar, or any suggestions as to what might be at fault? Thanks!
  14. I was looking at the FISCON kit last night, but wasn't completely sure how functional it was, or how good it is. As things stand, the dealer intends to refund the cost of the factory bluetooth kit as ordered, and then fit bluetooth for me F.O.C. but with an aftermarket system. I am quite happy with this, especially if he will fit the FISCON stuff, and if it does, as the pictures suggest, integrate with the Bolero. I am unsure whether I would be able to persuade him to pay a third party to retrofit the MFSW and Bluetooth, and in some ways I'd rather keep everything under one roof so if anything does go wrong there's only one set of people to moan at. In any case, the error was admitted quickly, although he is unsure exactly where it occurred. As he pointed out, where the problem happened is not my concern, all he wants is for me to be happy with the resolution. The offer of the refund and the free supply and fitting is acceptable to me. That said, would the utilisation of Shark alter my warranty in any way?
  15. When it was specified, the MFSW with Bluetooth came out at £565. This fits with the current catalogue that shows telephone preparation at £465 and then the associated steering wheel at £110. The dealer has offered very good compensation that will include the bluetooth fitting, it's just a case of trying to decide which one...
  16. I am after some advice. Last week I collected my new Octavia Elegance 1.6tdi DSG from the dealer. When I specified the car, I requested the multifunctional steering wheel and the bluetooth option - which was on the order form. For whatever reason, and I am not looking to apportion blame, the factory did not fit either the bluetooth system or the multifunctional wheel that allows its use. I ended up with the standard multifunctional wheel, and did not realise until I got home and attempted to set up the telephone... I have spoken with the dealer and we have come to an arrangement between ourselves. This will include the retrofitting of bluetooth to the car. The dealer has said it is not possible to retrofit the integrated bluetooth and the steering wheel that operates it. I have looked in the accessories catalogue and the only option appears to be the "blueconnect" kit. This seems to have very poor reviews on here, and the dealer has also said that it isn't the best. What would others suggest? Is there anything on the market that doesn't result in unsightly bits of kit littered around the cabin? Is there anything that can be connected into the standard fit Bolero radio for touchscreen use, and to auto-mute the radio etc? Basicially I want something as close to a factory fit as possible, that doesn't spoil the interior styling, and gives me as close to the original functionality I was expecting... Any thoughts/ideas gratefully received!
  17. Hi, Just been into the dealer to drop off my trade in, and have been told my new Octavia is at Grimsby awaiting a lift to the Midlands. I have ordered the MDI extra, but am unsure what I need to purchase to enable me to connect my iPod to the car. I asked at the parts desk and he said I needed a cable that was priced at £144! Is this correct, that having paid the extra for the MDI, you then have to pay another £144 to enable you to actually use it? Any help to end my confusion greatly appreciated! Cheers
  18. I ordered 1.6CR Tdi Elegance Hatchback with DSG during the last week of January, it was built week 13, and has been sitting at Emden since the 2nd April. I was expecting (and told to expect) at least May onwards.
