  1. I need new front discs and pads for my 2018 1.5TSi SEL but sites have the discs as either 288mm or 312mm. Can anyone confirm the size without me having to get them measured? As an addendum- has anyone had issues with front callipers? Last trip to the garage said the rear of the discs are rusty, whereas to the front face isnt. That to me is a problem with the callipers?
  2. So thought I'd update this, sorry havent been getting notifications. Made the decision to change and have now sold the 280 and bought a 1.5 SEL Karoq manual. Yes I totally miss the power and space in the Superb, but love the high up seat position (used to drive a land rover and always liked that!) Only the other day I tried to fit my mountain bike in an realised just how much smaller the boot was. Oh well cant have everything. I did some MPG tests in the week before getting rid of the Superb and on my normal commute to work I was getting 26mpg on the way there and 24mpg on the way back. A run to pick my daughter up from her mothers, gave me 30mpg. I did the same runs in the Karoq (yes I know there are variables etc) and got 43mpg on the way to work and 38mpg on the way back. Daughter pickup is 49mpg. So definitely more economical to run. And tax and insurance is cheaper too so win win for that.

I'm looking at trading my Superb 280 in for a Karoq to try save some money on fuel. What sort of MPG are people getting? Probably looking at the 1.5TSi
  4. I'm in a similar boat to you. I bought a April 2016 car, and the garage that I bought it from serviced it in October when I bought it. At the time I didn't know it had a service plan on it, its only when I went to buy a plan that I was told it already had one on. Same position - My service plan runs out April 22 so I can have a service in October 21 but not October 22. The way I see it is that if you want to get 2 services carried out (for free, technically) then I will get the car serviced in April 21 and then again in April 22. You could get the car serviced now and then in Dec 21 so you get 2 services out of them? Yes you will have to pay for a service in Dec 22 but thats better than paying for a service in May 22.
  5. Really should update my profile to show the model, but I know the difference between maxidot and VC. Its the classic Maxidot from 2016 SE-L Exec. Thanks.
  6. Nope not as easy as you thought. I'd like to display the radio station on the top of the display, where the nav arrow is - is this possible? I know I can have it display in the middle, but I like the digital speed there, and would like to know the radio station / track name etc, when using google maps on Android Auto. If it not possible then thats fine. I'll learn to live with it!
  7. You're quite right. I miscalculated tyres size. Its too small. If you want 225 you would have to go up a profile size not down! I'd be sticking with the 235/45/18 as above.
  8. Yes they will fit. They are very similar size to what comes as standard on my 280 SE-L. The offset is slightly different but should be ok. My tyres are 235/45/18 so again slightly different but they are ok. I've just put 17s on mine with winters and they fit fine too. Try willtheyfit.com to check differences.
  9. Many thanks for that @e-Roottoot The car is 4 years old and 40k on it with a full Skoda history, although the Independent garage did also service it before I bought it. From memory the service on my old car at an independant cost £150 so it compares well. Cant believe a service doesnt include replacing an air filter - thought that was standard! (and cant believe the charge £45 to change it!) But guess I can replace that myself. Again anything they pick up on will be done by myself or my independant garage. I dont trust dealers to tell me when stuff needs replacing, but guess they should do a service ok. I wouldnt pay £462 for 2 services but I guess I would pay £306
  10. Not sure if this is the right place, but just seen an advert for Skoda 2 year service plan for £12.75 a month or £306 for the 2 years. It includes: 1 x Oil & Inspection Service (with Pollen Filter) 1 x Oil & Inspection Service (with Extended Scope) Is that a good deal? I usually get my old cars done at an independent but as I've just got the Superb, might as well get a Skoda Stamp in the book! (not that they stamp a book these days!) Also what is included in the extended scope? Is it just a minor service and a major service?
  11. Sorry I dont know. It was missing when I bought the car so they bought it and installed it for free to me.
  12. Funnily enough that part was missing when I went to look at the car. Unfortunately cant help with the install as the dealer sourced one and installed it, but it does look like it just pushes in. That's also good to know @JR RS is i've been wondering about changing it to black too. Yours looks great. Am wanting to do the grill too, but might just swap that out for a Sportline one. Might be easier.
  13. My 2016 SEL Executive has it. I was told it was standard.
  14. I'm sure I'd read that USB was faster than SD so that why I went that route. Might have to find my 32GB SD card. I take it if I have a bigger card, that won't work? Also will try the FAT32 with 4k sector size. Thanks again.
  15. Cheers. Looks like my 32GB stick is formatting to 28.6GB!
  16. I've just downloaded this and tried copying it to a freshly formatted FAT32 32GB USB Stick but getting "Not enough Space" Any ideas?
  17. So looking at the website willtheyfit it shows that with ET54 its still showing within the profile of the existing size wheel. A narrower tyre will always mean that it is more inbound that before. I can see that with an ET40 wheel it will be closer to the existing outside profile, just further away from the suspension etc. Guess that it will fit, but wont be best suited to the car, and may cause issues? I'll keep looking for some different wheels.
  18. Yeah they are 7jx17 ET54 so guessing from an Octavia. Should be ok or not?
  19. Also are the standard 18" rims 8" wide?
  20. Seen some 17s for sale but they have an ET54. I think current ones are ET41? Is that right? Anyone know if they'll fit?
  21. Just got a Superb 280 SEL executive with 18s on and looking to get a set of winter wheels / tyres. Just wondering if 17s fit the 280? Also is 225/50/17 an ok size on them if they do fit?
  22. I'll just add what most have said. I have just bought a Superb too. went for the hatch versus the estate as I didnt need size, plus I think the hatch looks better. I also looked at Octavia, both hatch and estate, but got sick of looking for the spec I wanted (leather, heated seats) and also wanted 4x4 which meant diesel in the Octavia. I also looked at Seat Ateca's but we'll not get into the SUV argument! I stumbled across a 280 4x4 SEL-Exec quite by accident locally and just knew I had to have it. Its a great car. Boot is big enough. Has everything I need spec wise (OK heated screen would be nice) but the power it has is great, and on the flip side if you drive it economically you should be able to get 35-40mpg out of it!
  23. Many thanks for that. It look like its a new gear lever for me! I agree I dont think its totally necessary, but as the car is under warranty from the garage I'd like them to fix it. I'll mention that they can go to Skoda and see if they can get any money off. Car is just over 4 years old with 40k on so hopefully they should.
  24. Just had this come up on my Superb. Bought from an independent so not under Skoda warranty. Does anyone know if the "switch fix" works on a Superb or is it a new gear lever selector? Just so I go armed to the garage with what needs done!
  25. They look great. Did a similar drive out a few year back in a MR2. Great driving roads.
