  1. hmm, had hoped the mpg might be a tad better than that. getting more than that out my current CR-V....
  2. thinking of early retirement next year and looking to purchase either of two vehicles. Another Honda CR-V or coming back to Skoda and getting a Vrs estate. I know most of the pitfalls round the Honda, but wanted a bit more info on the Vrs if anyone can assist please? I assume they are still cambelts, rather than chain drive, so do water pumps still need changing at same time, and what sort of intervals between these? Are the DSG as economical as manual as I`d like to give one a go but not if there`s a vast difference in fuel consumption. Also, I believe the 2.0 l were £30 road tax upto 2017, is this correct or did it go on after that? cheers in advance for any help guys.... Andy
  3. regarding this upgrade, which is now fully functional and working a treat, does anyone know how to disable the actual Skoda Bluetooth? Even though the old Bolero head unit is gone the phone still wants to pair with Skoda BT, so am assuming the Bluetooth is a separate entity? Would save a lot of faffing about if it could be disabled in some way?
  4. That's quite a bold statement and slightly concerning.. Is it definitely these particular units or one similar? I feel sure if it were these they would have been withdrawn or else the guy would have horrendous feedback....
  5. On behalf of my Uncle again.. I`m looking to change the Bolero Head unit for one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RNS510-STYLE-HD-DVD-GPS-SAT-NAV-SKODA-FABIA-OCTAVIA-RAPID-ROOMSTER-SUPERB-YETI/112254638236?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 and wondered how easy it was to remove the Bolero unit. There doesn`t appear to be a separate surround but the replacement unit appears to require one..Which I can sort, but just wondered about the removal of the old unit.. Anyone by chance have a guide or done it before?
  6. All sorted now.. It was to do with the Maxidot display.. The destructions in the user guide are not particularly user friendly but now sorted.. Thanks Freedie!!
  7. Ok, had another look at this last night.. Its a Samsung Galaxy S5. It goes through the pairing process , gives code to pair with the head unit, but fails to connect every time.. Have attached screens of the head unit and you can see that when in set up telephone mode, the other bits are "greyed out"? Is there a simple fix for this, or is the phone not compatible, or is it a trip to Skoda to sort?
  8. Ok, I can definitely confirm it`s the Bolero radio, with 6 disc autochanger etc.. no sat nav just bluetooth.. Will try to have another look at settings above tomorrow and see what transpires...
  9. I`ll have to double check which head unit it is and have another look at it.. will come back to you...
  10. asking on behalf of a relative... he`s just bought a 2013 Yeti 1.6 Diesel Elegance.. Has a Samsung Galaxy S5 but unable to connect to Bluetooth unit. Despite having phone in discovery mode, it goes through the motions including giving out a pairing code but then it comes up with an error every time.. I noticed when reading the destructions on how to connect it says something like <Phone> <Set up> but this option does not seem to appear. I wondered if it may be due to previous owners details still being stored and if it were possible to "wipe " the info and start from scratch? Any help appreciated.. Andy
  11. Hi I have my 2002 Octavia Laurin and Klement up for sale. For pictures please see http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290679531295?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_1361 Its done 153k with FSH. Heated seats work, Cruise works in fact everything works as it should. Mot`d Feb for 12 months, tax runs out end of April. Super car in superb condition. Any questions pm me Looking for around £2250. Andy
  12. I had this problem with mine, only it was the rear wiper that had a mind of its own and the central locking kept going. Turns out it was the rear washer feed coupling underneath the autochanger in the boot. Reconnected the hose and bound with tape, unplugged all connectors and gave a healthy coating of contact cleaner and has been fine eversince.
  13. Looks like a previous owner has had a go at this as the door trim is smothered in araldite on the rear side!! Checked all the wiring /plugs etc and can find nothing glaringly obvious.Am unable to remove the door lock as again previous owner has chewed up one of the star bolts and I can`t get it to move at all. Could it be a dicky solenoid as it is fairly intermittent?
  14. Had exactly the same thing with mine and ended up removing all the seats, carpet and soundproofing from the drivers side to dry the carpet and soundproofing then looked for the leak. Turned out to be underneath the front drivers side scuttle. The drain hole is quite large but was so gunged up with leaves etc when there was a real heavy down pour the water was coming in through the wiring loom grommet. Cleared the leaves and crap away a put the hose on it...no more leaks..
  15. Its obviously an intermittent thing as I went out earlier and all doors opened, so I`ll have the door card off and have a look later. Is it likely to be a dodgy spring or just damp or similar on the loom?
