  1. These faults are number 2 glowplug open curcuit and auxilery waterpump sticking , she had the Glowplug  changed but the fault keeps comeing back so it going back in ,

how much is the auxilery waterpump and is it a quick job to fit. this is at an indi , car runs no problem but with the yellow enginge light on until its cleared also how easy is it to change the auxiliary waterpump is it easy to do or do you need any special tools

  2. I bought one 2016 , and its now covered 180,000 miles , only  things changed, 1 temp sensor, 2 front  drop links,  alternator   put a new clutch in even though it didn't  need at 175,000 but wasn't wanting it to go , only changed the front discs at 150,000 rears at 130 k , cross climates lasting 50k

Average fuel consumption 38 to 64 mpg , well pleased

  3. The bolt on the pully end  of the high pressure fuel rail had become slack enough to allow number 1 injector to spray fuel out into the engine bay.

New seals on all 4 injectors and new bolts fitted with lock tight and back on the road , cost £192.

  4. Well after 107,000 miles, I have had my first breakdown, and nearly no car.

Went out tried to start it, it just tied to start but wouldn't, then I could smell petrol, had a look under the bonnet but couldn't see anything, tried again nothing,

Mechanic came out and I turned it over as he looked, he found that fuel was coming from the rail that runs across the front of the engine, and that it would need taking to his garage.

he called and said after a better look that it could be an injector seal, and it would need the front of the engine stripping down to get to it and replace.

what we cannot understand is I went out to the car last night at 10pm it started and drove fine , came home parked got out and went back out at 11am to get this problem.

anyone else had it , or similar??/

  5. I was speaking to a fellow taxi driver who has the 2ltr diesel Octavia, he was on about having to leave the car in gear, as the hand break lets itself off sometimes , he has said that when it first happened someone came to his door to say his car was half way across his road , he had it checked out and no faults where found , so he leaves it in gear now but had come out to the leaver being in the down position 3 more times over a year, Has anyone else had this problem, or is there a fix??

Wow that's incredible,  I notice it says average speed 30mph so what type of journey did you get this mpg?

79 mile run A roads average 50 mph, It has never gone over 35mph average for some reason, even on a 480 mile trip from Scotland to Plymouth, still had 200 miles left in the tank

As with all cars evidence of regular services is key and any history of whatever repairs it may have had.

I have a 1.4 on 70000 miles, all good so far, and I have every intention of taking it  well above 150000.

This is taxi miles , so far 2 sets of pads all round , 4 tyres, always use cross climates, one cold start sensor, should have been free under warranty but it was quicker to pay £29, oil and filters changed every 10k oh and new st of plugs at 80k, returning an average 42 mpg local and 56 to 62 long runs.
