  1. Hi! I have not noticed that behavior so the torch function do not operate at all. I have opened the torch and many electronics inside for a simple torch, Wow! I have checked that the 3 original AAA batteries are completely dead, no voltage and they do not get charge with and external charge. I have just purchased a blister of AAA fresh eneloop rechargeable batteries, installed on it, and...... NOTHING!!! Seriously, my torch is completly dead!! Probably some problem in the electronics. Im thinking about probably no failure in car pins (the third one can be a data communication wire, due to complex electronics inside, so no real voltage there.... I think) New torch? Ummm it is expensive, i will look for an affordable one. I like to keep the car with original fuctions as possible. Regards.
  2. Definitly i do know what happens. I have checked fuses with no sign of blown on them. I'm thinking in the following possibily. - The first one is that maybe that charge pin output is governed by confort ECU. For some reason the confort ECU has disabled that output (malfuction, some freezing behavior, or random configuration alteration). I have read somewhere if ECU detects a low voltage range of the battery (car battery), Comfort ECU dissables non essential functions. My current battery voltage is under range (motor stopped, around 12,20v , is not the best, but battery is not faulty yet). However, I think that charging fuction is enabled only when engine is running, so my argument have no sense, i think. Anyway, i will disconnect main battery, wait a minute, and the i will reconnect it, in order to 'reset' all the ECU's.... I will see if works or not. Regards.
  3. I have checked that 12v rear boot socket is working properly. I will check each fuse in the fusebox, but is is strange ... I will post results if i find something. Thanks for your help.
  4. I have the same issue now with the flashtorch. I should charge but it do not do since time ago. I have checked voltage on pins, and i have power in the pin used for the light when door is opened, but i can not get power in the pin used for charge the device. the questions is that i do not know what happens. It shoud have a fuse, but i do not know which... and where... Any advice?
  5. Well, as I presumed, it is posible to regulate the power or brightness of the DRL bulbs, using VCDS. The default value of dimming for the default bulbs is 92%. I have been doing several tests. I have tested the standard temperature of the stock bulbs after a while and I'm more relaxed now, because i have checked that stock bulb are not cool either. More or less generate the same heat than the LED bulbs I've bought (tested with the maximum voltage of my power supply - 13,6 V). So I think i will never have problems with the housing (cross fingers). However, i have decided to reduce the percentage of dimming for the leds bulbs, to work less forced, without giving a a brightness loss. The way to modify the dimming value is: -Open VCDS -Enter to "Cent. Elec" - Module 09 -Then click on the right : "Coding -07" - Click on "Long Coding Helper" button. - Go to byte 24. - Modify the value in "Dec1" fiel to a value between 1-100 (is percentage, in decimal, of dimming value). Stock value in my car is 92%, now i have it in 70% with the led bulbs (testing, if right i will increase the value a bit" . When modify value, push enter. - Close the current window. - In the next window, press "Do it". A little windows appears "Coding accepted". Press accept and all is done ( you can close VCDS if you want). I hope this is useful for you. I am writing a "tutorial" or "DIY" guide, when i have available, i will post here. EXAMPLE OF STOCK BULB WITH A DIMMING VALUE OF 10%: Regards, Fernando.
  6. Well, i have received new "canbus" leds bulb, that i inteend to fit in my superb. I have tested with a power supply out and i can confirm that the bulbs gets very hot after half an hour of use. However i have checked that exists a function (byte) inside Centr elec. unit (checked with VCDS), that can be modified. This value defines a percentage of dimmer that can be applied to this bulbs. Currrently the value in my car is 91%. I think, if we lower this value a bit, we can put less power to the led bulb (or another standard bulb)that helps to avoid overheating and problems in the housing or reflector (the life of the bulb will be higher too). I will post more when i test it. Regards.
  7. Installed from FW 2720 in "A" (HW42 in the label, march 2011) unit and all ok. Maps and music not erased ( current version 7.1). Now the unit appears both setup function or VCDS as "B" unit. I'm just installing 7.2 maps into hdd unit.

  10. The bulbs I purchased are this ones: http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270792625507 Cheap and very bright, but polarity problem.... I'm already looking for another right ones... Regards,
  11. Did you all need to change polarity in the wire to use each type of led mentioned in the post? I purchased a 68 leds bulbs and today i fit them in my new car but not light. With a power supply this leds are right. I think the polarity is reversed. I don't want to modify any wire, so it should be interesting if you can specify if your led are right with any type of wire modification. Thanks in advance to all. Regards.
