Phone connectivity
I would have thought that clearing the bluetooth data in phone settings would clear everything. Carrying out that operation clears all data including WIFI and network settings so no previous setting existed. so only the Skoda Bluetooth would show up. I understand what you are saying I'll give it a go but think that the same will happen.

Tried all that plus several other options like clearing Bluetooth date from the phone and also selecting developer mode and comparing settings to a phone that will connect but computer still says No! The Car Bluetooth would normally generate a pin or passkey send it to the device to be paired then ask if they match or as you say, input the code and confirm, if so confirm and then pairing takes place. If they do not match, which is the case with both my XA1 and Nokia C32 then pairing cannot take place. The only thing I have not as yet been able to do is to try my Phone in a different car of the same type in order to eliminate my car from the problem (is there a problem specific to my car) I doubt that that is the issue. I am hoping to do that soon. Thanks for your efforts.

Don't need to type the pin/passkey as they are generated by the devices I think. With regard to the compatibility list; it will not show options for my VIN however if I select car type and year it provides options. I don't think the new infotainment system is included in this list hence no VIN recognition.

Receiving the pin prompt but the two pins do not match so no connection can be made. this is obviously a compatibility issue but I don't understand why it should happen. Rhetorical question, Of 3 phones we have why does one connect and two fail. It is not age related. With regards to upgrading the phone how do I chose a new phone when the compatibility list available on the Skoda website only applies to MIB2 and earlier systems. I know that most I phones and Samsung phones will work but I don't see why I should be forced to buy a new phone when the one I have works perfectly well and did so in my previous car (Scout with MIB2)

will not connect for hands free calling the car can see the phone but when trying to connect reports an incorrect pin or passkey message. Huawei phone is Y7 2018. thanks for the reply. There seems to be very little information about this issue but I cannot be the only person experiencing this problem.

Phone connectivity
Skoda customer services now seem to have washed their hands of this problem blaming the issue on my phone, not the new infotainment system software. I agree there is probably nothing wrong with the software but it should surely be able to connect to any modern smart phone provided it complies with the Bluetooth version info. In a sense I have been mis sold my car as I was not informed of a potential compatibility issue prior to buying the car. I would like to find a way past customer services, anybody got any way to do this.

Front parking sensor failure. new Superb
Today we had a loud squealing and pulsing noise inside the car as we were about to pull away. It eventually stopped but we now have a front parking sensor failure. So far switching off and leaving the car has not resulted in a fix. Will report back as the problem develops. the noise was obviously the parking sensor sounder not a stray mouse.

Further to the above problem, Skoda customer services have now informed me that there is a software compatibility issue (yes I knew that) but there is no prospect of an early solution to this problem.

Tried all that with Skoda. For info two phones wont connect one will. The connected phone is a 218 model huaywai, The two that won't connect are an older 2017 xperia XA1 (bluetootth 4.2) and a new 2023 NokiaC32 (Bluetooth 5.2)

Phone connectivity
Just Taken delivery of a new Superb Estate and have discovered that my phones will not connect to the new infotainment system (it worked on the older systems). Nothing wrong with the phones but it seems to be a compatibility issue with the new infotainment system software. So far the garage cannot help and Skoda customer services have failed to provide a suitable response. Anybody else with this issue?

Car hot and fans running
It may have nothing to do with the DPF. The car may have a weak battery and therefore need to recharge more frequently. hence the start stop system warnings. There is something about this in the handbook somewhere.

Skoda Octavia Drivers door lock failure.
Car; 2018 Octavia Scout Low Mileage. No VCDS diagnosis. Symptoms: Central locking working but not locking the drivers door, or sometimes not unlocking the drivers door. This is with the key fob or the auto lock feature or the central console button. The car would lock using the manual lock function beneath the door handle cover. This would suggest that the wiring is all in order. With the door card removed no amount of wire wiggling would change anything. Solution: Replace the lock module. It is no longer possible to dismantle the lock module, at least not easily. The mechanical and electrical parts of the lock module are now riveted together instead of being screwed. (or possibly shear bolted). To remove the lock, first remove the door card. It is possible to leave some of the electrical plugs attached and just turn the door card at right angles stood on something like a box. See you tube for removal methods. To extract the lock you need to remove the lock barrel. This is done by removing the small black weather seal on the outer door edge to reveal two torx 20 screws. The black one needs to be fully removed the silver one need to be undone until you feel resistance. With the key in place, push in on the silver screw and the lock barrel will then easily come out. The lock unit is removed by undoing the two spline bolts with a M6 xzn 12 point spline tool. detach the cables from the lock. Then fit the new one in the reverse order. I think the lock modules have possibly been modified as they have a number of part number updates. Part No. 5TC837016D defines as a latch. This must be a common fault as the parts dept. had one on the shelf.
