  1. More info regarding pixel phone charging. My phone will not charge wirelessly in my car (24 reg superb) but will work in both a new Golf and also a 25 reg superb. I wonder if Skoda have changed the charger in some way. My phone also charges in a 25 reg Octavia.
  2. Further to the above comment: I have now tested my 8a in a different superb and my phone charged without problems even with the case fitted so there must clearly be a problem specific to my car.
  3. I have the same problem with my 8a. have had the dealer look at it they replaced the charging pad but it is still the same. However my phone charges perfectly well in a new VW golf which presumably uses the same system. Very annoying.
  4. Sorry mis-typed previous reply I meant MK4 not Mk3
  5. please note that 16" rims will not fit on some variants of the new MK3 superb. this is related to the brake disc diameter. CHECK BEFORE BUYING!!!
  6. Dealer claims the problem is the phone not the car. (pixel 8a) The in car charger will work perfectly with an Apple I phone. My phone will also charge properly in a new Golf. So I am still no further forward. (sell Superb buy a golf or sell the phone and buy an apple). I would presume the same charger system is fitted to both cars so why the phone will charge in one and not the other is a mystery to me. In car wireless charging seems to be a problem for several manufacturers.
  7. Tried every possible position within the charging slot including removing the rubber mat but still no success. Phone gets picked up but then drops out 10-20secs later. it did appear to work briefly on the drive back from the dealer?? time to call the dealer back. If the system was not in the car I wouldn't give it a second thought but if it is fitted in the car it should work properly.
  8. Now had the charger replaced but the problem of not charging still persists, other posts on the forum also have a similar issue but with different phones so once again there must be a general problem with the charging system.
  9. The parts to fix this problem have now been fitted and the problem appears to be fixed. Thank you Skoda, pity it took so long and so many visits to the dealer to resolve the problem.
  10. I Have the same issue with a Pixel 8a phone. The charger has been replaced as the service centre said the cooling fan had failed but it still doe not charge properly. It picks up the phone then after 10-20 secs. drops out with a not charging message appearing on the screen. Occasionally it does charge but it is very random and without any pattern. I have a cheap wireless charger in the house that works faultlessly evert time so it must have something to do with the Skoda charging system.
  11. Got no where with Skoda. In the end changed the phone as the phone I was using was old anyway. I suspect it is more complicated than being a Bluetooth issue.
  12. Update to the above issue. The problem was not the dashboard tweeters but those fitted to the rear door card. The fix is to replace the whole door card???? Still waiting for the parts to arrive 6 weeks later. Very odd is all I can say.
  13. with regards to the charger /fan issue. according to the parts dept. at my service garage the fan is an integral part of the charger so the fix is to replace the whole unit.
  14. No Idea Where the fan is but I would presume it is located somewhere near the charger if in deed the fan I was informed about is used to cool the charger, (which would make sense)
  15. The problem has been diagnosed as being caused by the small tweeters on the dashboard failing or at least one of them. probably when the screeching occurred. This results in the sensor system shutting down for some reason, The car has had the software update done. The parts need to be ordered so ot will be at least 3 weeks before its fixed.
  16. Update to the charging failure, The problem relates to a cooling fan not working apparently. to be replaced when it becomes available. This explains why the charger was dropping out after a short period.
  17. Anyone have issues with wifi charging in new Superb. Pixel phone won't charge. It picks up the charge then after a short period of time drops out and a message is displayed on the screen. Phone is out of its case, the correct way round and nothing else in the charging compartment. The phone will charge wirelessly on a charger in the house.
  18. Mine Is due to be "fixed" for the second time on 20th Jan. fingers crossed they have a solution by then.
  19. They had the car for three days but had some problems with their internet connection on the second day so I am not certain how long the download took.
  20. Good news software update installed yesterday. Bad news Sensor system still malfunctioning. For info: My sensors sometimes work, sometimes only the front, sometimes only the back, sometimes not at all. there does not seem to be a pattern to the errors, very random can get in the car they work. Stop to go shopping they fail. next stop they work. very irritating. (superb Estate L&K 24reg)
  21. Just an update on the connectivity issue, Yet another Email from Skoda trying to absolve themselves of responsibility. Strangely enough both phones that we have issues with will connect to a 73 Reg Kamiq courtesy car. (Superb in for Software update to fix sensor issues.
  22. Yes I can use android carplay through the USB but the phone still needs bluetooth to be active for phone calls.
  23. Been to Dealer problem not fixed as yet but it is intermittent at the moment. booked in for a software update.
  24. As far as I can determine the problem is one of compatibility between my phones and the new infotainment software. Why this should be seems to be a mystery as no one at Skoda is able to give me a definitive answer. Skoda customer services have now written to me denying any responsibility for the situation. It is my phones that are the problem according to customer service. As the compatibility list provided on the Skoda website does not include (as yet) the new infotainment system they will not recommend a phone that will work. Stating that they cannot be held responsible if a new phone I buy will not connect. As a long time supporter of Skoda I find this situation to be far from satisfactory. The last letter (Email) that I received from customer services was terse and frankly rude basically saying "on yer bike mate" The manager of the dealer was equally appalled at the wording of the Email. The dealer told me that due to this situation he is now forced to alert new customers to the possibility of this problem. This is clearly not a widespread issue probably because to date not that many (relatively) new cars have been sold yet and a lot of customers will be using either I phone or Samsung products that don't seem to be affected. I should be able to buy any modern smart phone regardless of cost, without worrying about whether or not it will connect to my car. The whole point of these systems is to enable people to take and make calls hands free therefor not breaking the law or needing to pull over, this is a Europe and UK wide ruling. Why would Skoda not ensure that their system is compatible with all smartphone operating systems after all they all use either Apple or Android as far as I am aware. I intend to pursue this matter further with Skoda but in the meantime Thankyou Stonekeeper for your efforts to help.
  25. The car can see the phone the phone can see the car as far as I can determine there are no settings that I can make other than follow prompts that the phone and the car provide. If the phone asks me to pair I try. but the Car and the phone both say unable to pair. The phone provides a message saying incorrect pin or passkey I am unable to get beyond that. The car say unable to connect with info saying check version etc. I can connect to the system via cable but without telephone connectivity. this seems only to be possible through Bluetooth. Our old Huawai Y6 connects without any problems or issues. It is the same age as the XA1 and has the same Bluetooth version and codecs etc. Whatever the problem is it is beyond just me not being able to setup the pairing properly. The blue tooth version on the Y6 and XA1 is 4.2 the C32 has ver.5.2
