  1. More info regarding pixel phone charging. My phone will not charge wirelessly in my car (24 reg superb) but will work in both a new Golf and also a 25 reg superb. I wonder if Skoda have changed the charger in some way. My phone also charges in a 25 reg Octavia.
  2. Further to the above comment: I have now tested my 8a in a different superb and my phone charged without problems even with the case fitted so there must clearly be a problem specific to my car.
  3. I have the same problem with my 8a. have had the dealer look at it they replaced the charging pad but it is still the same. However my phone charges perfectly well in a new VW golf which presumably uses the same system. Very annoying.
  4. Sorry mis-typed previous reply I meant MK4 not Mk3
  5. please note that 16" rims will not fit on some variants of the new MK3 superb. this is related to the brake disc diameter. CHECK BEFORE BUYING!!!
  6. Dealer claims the problem is the phone not the car. (pixel 8a) The in car charger will work perfectly with an Apple I phone. My phone will also charge properly in a new Golf. So I am still no further forward. (sell Superb buy a golf or sell the phone and buy an apple). I would presume the same charger system is fitted to both cars so why the phone will charge in one and not the other is a mystery to me. In car wireless charging seems to be a problem for several manufacturers.
  7. Tried every possible position within the charging slot including removing the rubber mat but still no success. Phone gets picked up but then drops out 10-20secs later. it did appear to work briefly on the drive back from the dealer?? time to call the dealer back. If the system was not in the car I wouldn't give it a second thought but if it is fitted in the car it should work properly.
  8. Now had the charger replaced but the problem of not charging still persists, other posts on the forum also have a similar issue but with different phones so once again there must be a general problem with the charging system.
  9. The parts to fix this problem have now been fitted and the problem appears to be fixed. Thank you Skoda, pity it took so long and so many visits to the dealer to resolve the problem.
  10. I Have the same issue with a Pixel 8a phone. The charger has been replaced as the service centre said the cooling fan had failed but it still doe not charge properly. It picks up the phone then after 10-20 secs. drops out with a not charging message appearing on the screen. Occasionally it does charge but it is very random and without any pattern. I have a cheap wireless charger in the house that works faultlessly evert time so it must have something to do with the Skoda charging system.
  11. Got no where with Skoda. In the end changed the phone as the phone I was using was old anyway. I suspect it is more complicated than being a Bluetooth issue.
  12. Update to the above issue. The problem was not the dashboard tweeters but those fitted to the rear door card. The fix is to replace the whole door card???? Still waiting for the parts to arrive 6 weeks later. Very odd is all I can say.
  13. with regards to the charger /fan issue. according to the parts dept. at my service garage the fan is an integral part of the charger so the fix is to replace the whole unit.
  14. No Idea Where the fan is but I would presume it is located somewhere near the charger if in deed the fan I was informed about is used to cool the charger, (which would make sense)
  15. The problem has been diagnosed as being caused by the small tweeters on the dashboard failing or at least one of them. probably when the screeching occurred. This results in the sensor system shutting down for some reason, The car has had the software update done. The parts need to be ordered so ot will be at least 3 weeks before its fixed.
