  1. Oh yes they certainly move when I steer the car. Well the car is due at the dealers for a couple of other bits and bobs, so I'll ask them to point them up a bit. I will have a look for the adjusters too.
  2. I have an L&K with the fancy headlights, but I find that they are set too low to the point that I have drive at night with full beam on and no one coming in the other direction flashes me; my car doesn't have the light assist. The lights should be self levelling but my car's appear to be at a level too low. Has anyone noticed this with their S3 and is there a way to adjust them up a little?
  3. Twice now, whilst reserving at slow speed has the emergency brake cut in. Nothing around, nothing close to the car and not raining. Has anyone noticed this happening? Not sure whether it is linked to the "braking feature", but I was pulling away from a roundabout, no one in front and no one behind and the dash flashed up the large, red brake symbol/alarm (not the too close one or the handbrake one). And finally, occasionally the electric handbrake will not disengage when I set off (manual gearbox). I resort to pressing the button. Anyone experiencing this kinda stuff? Before I take it to the dealer I'd like to know if I can quote that it seems to be a common, known problem.
  4. On mine it is very noticeable on narrow, country lanes...kinda spooky really.
  5. As before without doubt any metal element between the gps RX and the satellite will reduce the signal strength. The lottery is a combination of different gps RX sensitivities and different locations of the gps RXs in the car. I would doubt the idea of differences in the heated screen between cars. First do far more controlled tests...my suggestion.
  6. My wife has a Yeti with a DSG box and I don't get on with it at all. It seems ponderous with gear selection. Maybe I just don't like automatics...I like being in control. Lol... It is fabulous for laid back driving..simple and easy.
  7. I agree there could be some advise, but nothing more than what physics tells us and to be honest everyone with a mobile phone understands the effect of solid objects on the signal level received. Do you ever see warnings on any building, bus, car, etc that their solid nature may effect RF received signal strength and hence impact the service quality on your mobile phone? It is a well accepted event. However, not all GPS receivers are made equal. I can't see in any of the testing in that thread anything that makes me believe that there is a lottery. There are physics facts; metal screen equals reduced reception, GPS RX sensitivity being poor equals lack of GPS lock, or at least reduction in the size of the GPS constellation seen.
  8. To be honest I don't quite see what the problem is, other than physics, the wonders of a metallic, earthed RF shielding and a very weak (as always) TX GPS signal. The laws of physics can't be change. European legislation is pretty tight on other emitters interfering with any GPS signal and unless it is a broadband jammer the GPS's spread spectrum code/signal will get through.
  9. I've tried both Chrome and Safari and I get this error: <Error> <Code>BlobNotFound</Code> <Message> The specified blob does not exist. RequestId:6bbb8a04-0001-000f-47f0-23ec64000000 Time:2016-10-11T18:49:42.3707747Z </Message> </Error> Handy, not!
  10. I hear a rattle, when cold, coming from either the central console or somewhere in front of me under the dash. It disappears when the engine is warm though. Mines a 150 TDI. I'll have a listen for for the other one.
  11. Picked up my 2.0TDI, 150PS, L&K Superb in Magnetic Brown (fabulous colour in the sunshine), with brown leather, last Wednesday and really enjoying it. It had been in the dealer's showroom as their display model so came with a few bits and bobs; and at a good price! One thing I can't figure out is that the 'Virtual Pedal' doesn't work, though it says in the brochure that the L&K comes with it as standard. I checked the VIN and the car was built at the end of May 2016. So, has there been an update to the L&K spec since May? Sold my Roomster 3 with 172k miles on the clock. Hopefully the Superb will be as good and reliable as the Roomster was.
  12. Alex, Worked a treat..thank you very much. I just have to figure out how to either select a sub-set of POIs to alert and display on the sat nav.
  13. Just said goodbye to my '08 plate Roomster 3, 1.9TDI PD. It had done a fabulous 172k miles and cost me two new cambelts, two sets of discs and pads, one rear shock, anti roll bar bushes and a replacement parking sensor. It was still doing 65mpg on the motorway. To be missed..It had started to develop a character of its own though, radio increasing in volume of its own accord, windscreen wipers that worked when they felt like it, just those little 'features'. Say hello to a new Superb III, L&K with a few bells and whistles, nice..
