  1. USB is always 5V. You can get a cigarette lighter converter for the 12V->5V conversion.
  2. Good point which reminds me to ask, what do you guys use for torque-ing these (and possibly other) up correctly? I've got a wheel torque wrench, but I assume that's a bit too 'heavy handed' for this kind of thing?
  3. Watch this: http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/7/8/the-mobius-camera-the-do-it-all-mount-anywhere-1080p-micro-c.html , then read this: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1904559 and then follow the links to the reliable suppliers... lots of fake stuff out there!
  4. Looks very useful indeed... something to buy for the future, thanks!
  5. Mobius dash cam... Footage I've seen of it is incredible for a cam not much bigger than a matchbox...
  6. For the purpose of us non-mechanical minded people, a picture speaks a thousand words... what is a big adjustable?
  7. Yeah, took the caliper vernier to it and it's a 32mm cap.
  8. Hmm, not sure if I got thin rags... tea-towel is about as thin I would have... I can see why you do it though, it's much easier to 'round' the corners...
  9. I've got one of these (32mm) can I safely replace my oil filter with that? Or do I really need to go out and get one of these Bit of a silly question, but I do not want to put myself in a position where I am stuck halfway through changing my oil...
  10. Hi mate, Getting myself more and more informed about caterfields and the more I'm reading, the more I want to Anyway, to cut a long story short, are you going to the meet on the 28th? I know it's a bit of a trek for you (not so much for me coming from NN5), but it would offer a good opportunity to meet up and chat about it...
  11. Hi mate, it wasn't me I'm afraid. I'm sort of in two minds... on one hand I want to get myself into lightweight motoring (caterham, etc) which would require me to change the fabia for a family saloon, and change the M5 for a kit car, but on the other hand... better the devil you know Hypothetically speaking, would you consider such a swap?
  12. Interested in some kind of swap for a Mk1 Fabia vRS? Sorry, having second thoughts now...
  13. When replacing my rear brakes I'd obviously took the engine cover off to make sure I could monitor the brake fluid level when rewinding the calipers and spotted the below... Could it be the remains of my turbo popping episode back in January?
  14. Oh FFS! Isn't that just typical :( Ah well, at least I had them same day (although I didn't fit them same day)
  15. I paid £55 for pagid discs and pads (rears only) at eurocarparts this week using one of their 30% of codes...
  16. Pfew, what a scorcher... next time I'll wait till winter Pads and discs replaced... the inner pad on the passenger rear was completely worn and a large piece of pad had broken off and got stuck between disc and shield causing a rattle going over humps. All solved now though!
  17. I've bought the caliper tool (£15/amazon) and new pads and discs (£50/ECP) and am going to attempt my very first brake job What could possibly go wrong?
  18. Do not usually bump older threads, but this one describes exactly what I am experiencing! Started yesterday when I heard a loud noise (over and above the radio and blower at full force) and a strange brake pedal feel. After some careful listening and inspection I could not really see what was going on, other than knowing something was amiss with the rear pads. This morning I casually looked at fuel consumption (normally get around 50mpg) and was very shocked to see 39mpg even though I had been driving like a good boy... I take it I need the brake winding tool as if I was going to replace the pads just to fix this binding problem? Any other specialist tools required (I will search later, but this thread was number three on Google for 'fabia vrs rear brake pads') ?
  19. I have no landline at my home (and haven't had one for over 3 years), only a (fiber) Virgin cable connection and several incoming numbers (local and international). My main incoming numbers are with A&A whose service can be configured so that it will use your mobile number (or any other number) if your BB is down and people call you. You can also call emergency services as long as you've got that set up with address details. I use a Raspberry Pi server with Raspbian and Asterisk 1.8 installed (not one of the specialised Asterisk images like Raspbx, etc) which controls all my call handling (blacklisting, whitelisting, holidays, etc) and as my normal home phone I have a Siemens Gigaset C475 IP DECT/SIP phone. I get an email if someone leaves me a voicemail, an IM notification when someone calls, and there is loads more that I can do should I wish to do so... Audio quality is dependent on your equipment, your BB speed, and many other factors, but I have never had any problems, although we are light phone users in our household. As to cost, you can get something like a Sipura S3K (Linksys now) for < £50 which is a fantastic little box and allows you to use your own current DECT phones with both a PSTN and VOIP line with for instance Sipgate, who will give you a free geographic incoming number
  20. Either ignore all correspondence, and they will eventually go away, or pay the £50 and park more carefully next time. It is contract law (not criminal law), and very hard to end up in court with, so my advice would be on option 1)
