Forgive me for being stupid , but it says you can still use your existing cd changer....soooo where does this fit in then? i've got an Alpine head unit collecting dust in my room, it has an iPod adaptor box exactly like this attached to it, yet i couldn't connect the adaptor and the cd changer at the same time.. My head hurts :(

I have that unit in my Vrs. I threw out the changer. With an ipod in your glove box you won't need a cd changer. The head unit has a cd player to!

Thanks so far. Basically I wouldn't want to modify the car much as my insurance will go though the roof (only 22)! But if a couple of basic mods will sort the handling out then I would be pretty tempted. Have any more people tracked a vRS on standard suspension - how was it?

Yes I did. Behaves brilliantly. Maybe a little soft but very easy to drive on the limit of handeling.

The best handeling mod Is a large rear ARB!

I've driven and owned many cars. At the moment one of my cars is a 1.8t VRS octy. It has a 28mm Rear ARB, H&R Springs and rear spacers and I can tell you this is now possibly the best handeling car I've ever owned let alone driven. Its hard enough to stay planted while soft enough for comfort to. I've done a few track days before these mods and a few since and all I can say is "The perfect handling car for every situation".

Other cars I've had on track include a 98 Scooby STI and a 99 Honda civic VTI. I'd take the skoda anyday on handeling and fun terms. Naturally the STI is a different beast and very hard core but it Understeers even more than a standard Octy.

And this is Hard cornering after the rear ARB. You can physically see a big difference!

I've owned many cars. T-sport corolla, Pug 106 rallye, Opel manta, Scooby wrx, Civic vti but the vrs is the best of them all. By far my favourite!

Yes it gets to hot otherwise. It was a sunny day.

The car looks odd at the rear because I removed the back seats and spare wheel etc for lightness.

I'm running standard suspension with a 28mm RARB and 15mm rear spacers.

Well the car behaved perfectly. Alot more responsive than it was when standard! I little less forgiving perhaps but much easier for lift off oversteer. We had 7 hours track time and only 20 cars entered. Short but very fast track.

I love a car that feels twitchy.

I did a track day in the rain lately and beat every lotus on track. such a good car in the wet.

Can't get V-power here in Ireland. I run mine on Maxol E5. Thats 5% ethenol and it runs like a dream. Noticible difference from standard 95 octane.

That breather pipe went in my vrs and my brother seat cupra.

This is a very unusual case though!

Hi all. I have a 04 1.8 vrs. Have done a few track days with it standard.

Doing one next week in Northern Ireland and can't wait to see what difference a couple of mods make.

Its been remapped (212 bhp) and will have a 28mm arb this week.

I'll write up the differences they make here soon.

[VRS Induction Kit Questions!]

I may sound silly here but,

I have a kit for my car. Its already been remapped (Revo) so would fitting a kit really make a difference or is it a load of rubbish?

Would it affect the remap in anyway?

Whats the easiest way to get behind the bumper?

Would it make a louder induction grunt?

Is cold air feed the best?

H&R springs (as they will only lower it about 15mm)

Koni FSD Dampers

Neuspeed 28mm rear ARB.

What is you opinions on this?

I have no Issue with learning the suspension as I drive a few other cars regularly, both on and ff track.

Folks I require a little advice please!

I drive a 04 1.8t VRS. I do track days and some performance events with it in Ireland I have recently got a revo remap and a few small jobs to increase power.This unfortunetly causes massive understeer on a car which normally suffers from tis but now its very bad. It also struggles to put power down properly.

Could ye advise me on what ugrased to suspension would help sort this problem and also maybe cure some body role. I want to keep the originl whels ss I see 18" wheels draining all the power away.

I don't want to lower the car a massive amount as it sits pretty low anyhow maybe 20-25mm.
