  1. 1. Date of purchase, where purchased and mileage to date

Purchased October 2011, Claybank Motor Company, Eccles, Manchester, 16,500 Miles to date.

    2. How the car was driven from new - gentle or like stolen or anything inbetween

The car has been 'pampered' with the odd heavy foot to overtake but generally motorway work and normal driving for 99% of ownership.

    3. Oil usage history, whether massive or nothing, what oil (5W30, 0W40 etc and brand)

First 4000 miles it used around 750ml of oil. Oil was changed at 4000 by myself, 8000 by dealer, 12,000 by myself and has had oil and filter changed at 16,000 miles and the car has not used a drop since. I have used 5/30 Castrol Edge, 5/30 Millers, and 5/30 Comma ProLife all recommended for the VRS TSi.

    .

  2. Can anyone advise me what my car is worth as a trade in or to sell private. It's done 12,000 miles 2011/61 in black magic with cruise and armrest, everything else is standard and is in superb condition with full history.

I have had a massive variation on value but was wondering if there is anyone out there in the know.

    Many thanks in advance.

  3. I took my 61 plate Fabia VRS for it's first service and they picked up on the near side passenger window not working. Every now and again it refuses to work from either the drivers side or passenger side switch but if you operate it via key fob remote it starts to work again for a period of time.

As my Skoda dealer picked up on and logged this fault I booked it in but to my disappointment they had the car a whole day and because they could not create the fault and therefore no parts were changed.

I fully understand that this is an intermittent fault but you would have expected the dealer to change something!

Anyone else had any window or electrical issues?

    Or anyone any advise?

  4. Hi Matty,

I've just put a set on my MK2 vRS. I bought an original, new rear set off e-bay for 99p with £3 P&P and bought the front ones from dealer at £27. They fit quite well, eventually! When I opened boxes I noticed they are made by 'ClimAir'.

I only put them on to stop water running off the roof into car when window is open but I would say they do not reduce wind noise at speed.

Part No KCD 709 001 Front.

Part No KCD 719 001 Rear.

Some people like them but others don't, each to their own I guess but I think they look kinda cool on my black car.

  5. I took my MY12 fabia vRS back to the dealers a while ago with regards to gearbox rattling and posted on here. They let me test drive another one and that was exactly same but I am still not convinced the gearbox was made to rattle. It wasn't advertised as a feature when I purchased the car and this is just an excuse for something they can't resolve. I would suggest this is a fault rather than a feature. I love the car to bits but I'm still unsure if I can live with this rattle. Now as the weather has picked up a little and the windows are down more the rattle is so frustrating, especially when the car is in a confined space.

  6. The new DSG7 is known for having rattling issues. Two friends of mine also can hear the same noise and they both drive polos 1.2Tsi. I think the sound you hear is the same as the videos below. That sound is only annoying and beyond that their gearboxes works fine.

Audi (S-tronic is the name but it is the same as DSG)

    Seat Ibiza

(Can't find out if its a polo or a golf)

Thank you Stratosg, I sat and watched the video and this is exactly what I am experiencing on mine.

I am one of those people who I know this rattle will drive me bonkers but I am also not convinced that this is just the norm for some DSG's as I have been informed by Skoda!

I have owned DSG's before and none of those ever rattled. If it was just the norm then wouldn't they all rattle?

  7. I have done about 1300miles in my Fabia II VRS DSG now. At around 250 miles i noticed a rattle coming from underneath front of the car so I booked it into my dealers. I could only hear the rattle when the windows were down and when the car was in a confined space, going between park cars slowly on a rough (ish) road surface or going down a backs with walls each side or going over speed bumps. I was under the impression it was the exhaust catching on a heat shield but after further investigation it seems to be coming from the DSG gearbox.

I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this on their Fabia VRS or any VRS owners listen out for this as I'm not convinced what I have been told by the dealers.

I would appreciate any feedback regarding this subject as this rattle will drive me insane just because I knows its there!

  8. Has everyone had regular updates from their dealership to let them know about build week changes etc...???

I think from point of ordering back on the 19th March this year my dealer has contacted me twice... and I have had to contact the dealer to ask for the salesman to contact me both times. (And I had to ring two days running as apparently the message did not get to him)

My build date is next week and the salesman has not even had the courtesy to let me know. If I had not have spoken to Skoda UK then I would be none the wiser.

I think next time I order or look it WILL be at another Dealership!

  9. Been through the same wait for my Octavia VRS and Skoda Yeti (6 months).

Just arrived back from a factory visit and museum tour. Walked through most of the Fabia lines and asked several times about delivery times / build weeks.

The fabia lines are ONLY working 2 shifts out of the 3, as the orders are not sufficient to warrant the running of the third shift. The other lines are on the full 3 shifts. Just the 2 shifts for the Fabia : There words not mine. Doubled checked this and the factory guide who was amazed to hear about the UK waiting times.

Doesn't help your wait but Skoda UK should be questioning the 2 shift system at the factory as orders are there !

The KD Fabia kits were also going great guns and been shiped out from the factory to negate taxes etc at there final destination countries.

Also found it interesting that they are still making the Octavia 1 for the eastern european market. Seemed wired seeming transporters full of brand new Octavia 1's.

Managed to buy two painted / decalled Fabia S2000 1:10 rc shells whilst in the Czech Rep. Both Monte 2011 cars : One as a works car (Kopecky) and one as Mikkelson's Skoda UK car. As soon as I get a chassis knocked up I'll post some pics. Anyone else put one of these shells on a Tamiya TT-01E / DF-03RA Chassis ????

    Cheers,

    Julian.

  10. shocking that mate :(

out of interest, can one cancel the order at this point and walk away?

at what point of ordering a new car is the point of no return?

You can cancel a purchase and get your deposit refunded if a dealer does fail to deliver your car on time..... BUT

You need to give the dealer a reasonable amount of time to get the vehicle to you... another 3 weeks after the estimated delivery date would be fine.

You would have to write to the garage and state that it would have to provide you with the car within the time frame..

By doing this you are making the delivery time a condition of the contract of sale and if the dealer breaches that you are entitled to a deposit refund.

The dealer may not give in easily but if they do refuse you can contact access-legal.co.uk for free advise.
