  1. Thanks for your reply, are these the ones you have? AUXITO 1156 LED Back Up Reverse Light, Turn Signal Light Brake Tail DR There are two other types on their site but they look to be like the ones I had from Aliexpress with the end lens cap which were dreadful. Unfortunately the ones I linked to are out of stock.
  2. I had aliexpress led's for the reversing lights, while they looked nice, light output to actually see anything was dreadful. I splashed out and bought these Philips X-tremeUltinon gen2 P21W 6000K LED Bulbs (Twin) | PowerBulbs EU I fitted them today and I'm less than impressed tbh, actual light output is still terrible. I'm considering going back to the original tungsten bulbs or getting these Philips Vision Plus P21W (Twin) | PowerBulbs EU Does anyone have recommendations for bulbs you can actually see with?
  3. Had another bash at it today,NADA!! I cannot for the life of me get any of those round ear things on the end of the circlip to budge. Good job I'm not on the side of the road!! Think I'll have to concede defeat on this one and see can I get the local dealer to do it for me. Very very frustrating it's the only car I've ever owned that I couldn't change a headlight bulb in.
  4. Do they look any different? i.e. any beefier or that they might actually do the job they were intended to do. I haven’t seen saggy door seals since the mk2 cortina...
  5. I have version A with the circular clip. I had another look today, space is very tight so I chickened out again. I think I’ll drop the liner down which would give a lot more room. Such a shame the didn’t use the old Octavia system of sliding the headlight out. Third time lucky...
  6. Ok. I got my nice new osram bulbs yesterday. Had a look at my headlights they are type A with the circular clip I was afraid to open the clip as I thought I would end up with bulb and clip loose inside the headlight unit with little chance of everything going back together.. Toyota avensis H7 springs to mind!! However closer inspection of the fantastic photos shows that the clip stays in the housing and the bulb should just slide out ( no turning etc), am I correct in assuming this? I just don't want to break anything.
  7. I asked a sales person about the very limited choices here in Ireland, I was told they were waiting until the budget in October to see are there any massive changes going to happen regarding tax vrt etc. Why has the 2 litre diesel been detuned to a paltry 115 bhp? That 1litre engine is a horrible trashy yoke.
  8. Leaking intercooler or pipework.
  9. Now I remember why I stopped visiting this site. I see xman's condescending attitude hasn't changed.
  10. Is it a belt in oil job same as the 1 litre? If it is belt changes could be very expensive.
  11. Thinking about doing it myself particularly with the front as it’s very bouncy especially on back roads. Please keep us posted on how it works out.
  12. Just connect the negative eyelet to the body and the positive eyelet to the battery post. I hope I’m correct before I get bawled at again by a “senior member”.
  13. There’s no need for the capitals I can read and don’t appreciate being shouted at. If you bothered to read my post I was using it on a 2002 Octavia which had no modern features and it worked perfectly with that car. Disappointing to see this site has the usual aggressive types, I won’t be sticking around as I thought this site was about Skoda enthusiasts helping each other.
  14. Makes no difference really. I think the advice to use the crocodile clip on the chassis is if there's a spark it isn't near the battery to potentially cause an explosion.
  15. I used that charger in my father's 2002 diesel Octavia, fantastic charger. It came with a connector that you could permanently attach to the battery and route so it was peeking out through the grille, it had a tight fitting rubber cap to prevent water ingress. I highly recommend it.
  16. Would that account for the rise in fuel consumption after the first service? Would it do any harm to keep the engine on 0W20?
  17. I always thought first fill oil contained extra additives to aid running in, particularly camshafts and was not to be drained early.
  18. God that interior looks terrible, those buttons under the centre vents remind me of the Toyota Previa/Estima from the 90's.
  19. I had acc on a dsg Octavia it's very nice but you really need the electric handbrake to get the true benefit.
  20. The first set of instructions worked perfectly for me on my 2019 Superb, mine has led drl's with xenon auto lights. I used my trusty obdeleven, many thanks.
  21. I'm exactly the same as you. I rang my dealer and they said it can't be done!! I think they just couldn't be bothered. If anyone on here could help us I'd be very grateful.
