  1. Blocked pollen filter maybe? The air care could be switching from fresh to recirculated air automatically.
  2. Yea ok, I get it, no need to labour the point. They were three different dealerships, I like to shop around.
  3. Each to their own I suppose, I must confess I wouldn't know what a transport block looks like... I've gotten three new cars in my life and never had any problems, maybe I'm just lucky.
  4. I have a 150 manual and average consumption over 47000km is 5.5/100km that's from measured tank fills and actually coincides with the car readout. I really don't get the tyre pressure advice as I always check it myself with my own gauge.
  5. Very nice, the light output is fantastic on full beam.
  6. Maybe it's just the camera but it looks like it's very slow to respond to the oncoming cars, did it dim when you came to the lit up area? I could see a lot of drivers flashing me here in Ireland, can you override it with the stalk?
  7. Was it difficult to do? Is there a guide that you used?
  8. See how the regass goes, it points more to a failed internal temperature or sunlight sensor to me.
  9. When it starts in the failed state does it ever kick in? Are the radiator fans working? Any clicking from the compressor clutch?
  10. I would be expecting a lot more equity than 3k tbh. Since Brexit the stock of second hand diesels in Ireland has all but dried up completely. My balloon payment is just under 13k, 2019 Superbs with the same spec and mileage as my own are on dealers forecourts for between 28 and 30k. I'll see what I'm offered when I go to change, if they insult me I have the money to settle the balloon payment and keep the car.
  11. That's an awfully long wait, are all Skoda models taking that long or is it just the Octavia? I was thinking of changing the superb next year when my PCP is finished in June, at that rate I'd need to start talking to my dealer very soon. I was considering the Octavia but seeing all the problems owners are having I think I'll stick with the Superb. They've bumped up the spec of the Superb quite a bit too.
  12. Seven months waiting time?? Am I reading that correctly? That's nuts!!
  13. Maybe I'm stuck in the stone age but I'd never consider any type of auto box suitable for towing especially the monstrous caravans you see being hauled around now. Regulations regarding towing, suitable vehicle, correct licence etc were introduced here in Ireland a few years ago and because they're actually enforced have made a huge difference.
  14. Good post, at least he had a gauge not some silly light that illuminates when engine cooking is complete!!
  15. I think rinse aid would do a brilliant job of cleaning the screen, not in the washer bottle though couldn't see it doing the pump any good. The only affordable petrol version available here is the 1.5 and the diesel is not that much more expensive. With petrol costing 15c more than diesel per litre at the garage where I buy my fuel petrol just doesn't make sense.
  16. Luckily there are two yards near to me that sell as blue from the pump at 60c a litre, an absolute bargain compared to dealers crazy prices.
  17. The one I have is concentrate, Tesco here in Ireland have very little car stuff now.
  18. That cost a few bob I'd imagine.
  19. I think the petrol's are two years 30,000km until the first service.
  20. Have you got it diluted? I used it neat for the first fill and have it diluted for topping up, unfortunately this bloody pandemic claimed the auto factor I used to buy it from I don't see any of the others stocking it. I'll go VW screenwash if I can't get prestone.
  21. Windowlene was fantastic, bicarb paste is a great suggestion. I use prestone screenwash it's brilliant I've heard great things about the VW screenwash. I'm using the prestone in a 9:1 mixture.
  22. You can discount Autoglym fast glass as it's brutal on a windscreen, everything is fine until you use the wipers the screen becomes practically opaque. Washing up liquid for me gave the same result, the car was dangerous to drive especially at night.
  23. At least it will be clean!! Can't say it's a problem I've ever come across before (cheap Chinese screens)
  24. AHH feck that for a caper, give it a belt with a hammer and get a new one on the insurance!!
  25. If you're unsure of trying to clay the windscreen you could always use a clay mitt instead of the bar they're easier to manage. The white spirits method has never failed me yet. A scummy windscreen is enough to drive you stone crazy.
