From my (limited) knowledge of this fault, the problem is around a sensor failing on the pcb in the sealed unit.
In my experience, sensors can often fail at random points of their life, and it is difficult to predict when this failure will occur.
There could be an argument to suggest that vibration fatigue could cause the early failure of the soldered joints to the sensor.
Either way, if they're being stubborn about replacing it under warranty, then you have nothing to lose by taking it to the small claims court.

Well, it sounds like it will be a 16" space saver spare
Does anyone know if there's any difference in price between order a set of 16's (for winter tyres) with the car, or seperately at a later date?

Email question sent

I'm in the process of ordering my new Scout, and the dealer are saying they can only order the space saver, not the full size spare.
Has anyone else had this problem?

makes more sense if you read the line straight below and ignore the full stops lol, sort ofBy the use of excluding original plugs of the VWAG and the splash-proof building method can do we heedlessly one WARRANTY OF 5 YEARS on the Tuningbox give.
If Yoda the engine tune does do, it's got to be legit ...right?

Awesome work on an awesome car

So jealous reading all these posts/threads of people picking up their VRS's soon. Ordered on 27th March, with delivery and build date unknown :(
I ordered my Scout on 31st, and was told current wait times are 12 - 13 weeks :(
-
I'll be picking mine up this spring, so this has come at the perfect time
I'm also noting down the points, but one question is, where is the new vehicle check pdf?

Using Drive the Deal.
I didn't even know they existed, so thanks guys, you've just saved me £4000!
They're quoting 12 - 14 weeks, but other dealers are now quoting "up to 20 weeks"

Good find Minimoke

Nope. I'm an Engineer (not Motor vehicles) specialising in early equipment failures, and plastic impellers on pumps, motors etc DO become brittle with age.
For the sake of 40 - 100 pounds it does seems false economy.

Hi James,
I believe we spoke earlier today about the Scout you have in the showroom
Your guys will need to connect their computer to the car and interogate the ECU. It should get one of two lines listed below (quote from Avalon on page 2)

Well just checked, the Golf's ESP and it's an MK60, also included the VCDS error log for it for reference.
Component: ESP FRONT MK60 0102
Coding: 0021122
Shop #: WSC 01279
1 Fault Found:
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit
The Octy is ASR not ESP and sure enough it's an MK70, so that would suggest the ASR=MK70 statement is accurate, I only have scan's from both of our cars but it looks like my findings back up Phil_p and Wega3k's posts
Component: ASR FRONT MK70 0105
Coding: 0017025
Shop #: WSC 73430
No fault code found.

For those out there that are looking to take advantage of the VAT free offer, i was told today by a dealer that the offer will be extended for another quarter, no suprise really as its not the first time its been extended. However i visted a seperate dealer later in the day who "claimed" to know nothing about this, and he would only be told if it was being extended on the last day of the month. I tend to believe the first dealer personally.
Just for the info of anyone out there thinking of buying by the end of the month to take advantage of the current offers, but oblivously check for yourselves just in case things change.
out of interest, which dealer was it that hinted at the offer being extended?
-
Here's hoping they extend the vat-free offer, as I'll be looking to buy a new Scout next month.
I was looking at year old cars, but a lot of dealers are pricing them higher than new with the vat offer
match drive the deal price

Nope, they pass on the sale to the dealer and all your conversations are with them.
The dealer pays DtD £250 for brokering the sale.
Just be aware that the dealer will be a high volume setup, and as such will only be interested in getting you out of the door as quick as they can.
