I must admit i haven't considered the Superb, I may have to look closer, what version do you have?

A big Hello from me, I haven't been active on here for quite while since I sold my Mk2 TDI. I am currently the owner of a 68 plate Golf GTI Performance, but due to the fact we have another family member on the way (A German Shepherd, no more kids for me!) I am looking at getting a car with larger boot space. I have looking at the late Mk3 VRS 245, and it seems that i would get pretty much all the options I get in the Golf, but can't confirm if the Octavia comes with Radar Cruise control? Is this an option on the later cars? I may go for a 18 or 68 plate, low mileage version, is there anything else I should be looking for? Many thanks.

All these gorgeous cars and I look at the window at my bog standard boring silver elegance on stilts lol
Just booked her in for tints now. Called insurance company and the want to charge me 86p a mo th extra for tints hahahaha
May have to look as some other ideas. Thinking of painting chrome on grill just can't decide between black or silver?
How much were you quoted for tints? Just rear windows?

Sorry, Only just seen this. I take it its too late to upload pics for you now?
-
Has it raised or lowered? Something i've never heard of? Maybe just perception.

Did your car come with the pegasus wheels factory fitted or have you fitted them ?, as there was a sport pack suspension and wheel upgrade which came with the pegasus wheels from the factory it may be the reason why its not dropped as much as expected as the car may be 10-15mm lower already like the vrs .
Yeah, you're right, it came with the Pegasus and sports suspension. Just Wasn't low enough though, although has taken me 12 years to finally do it!

That does sound like a pipe off somewhere..sorry can't be any more help

It has H&R -50? For me it seems a little tall, maybe -35.
Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Yeah, definitely -50 springs, although you're right, i don't think its dropped the full amount..

love those wheels
Thanks! I did think about replacing them with 18's but just really like the Pegasus. They are sat on spacers too now as well, which really helps the looks!

Eibach Pro kits are great! Generally dont lower as much as the Sports kits in my experiance (2004 182 Clio and 2002 Focus Zetec) But the hangling improvements over standard on both and the ride quality are great!
I have the 50mm H&Rs in at the moment and while they offer a nice drop, they dont really stiffen the ride up, still feels quite boaty. Though my shocks are 100K old... so couldbe them!
I have the -50mm H&R's cup kit. The shocks with the springs definitely firm up the ride, but still comfortable enough for every day use.

And am I right in thinking it's the seal between the main window and the quarter window?
Yes, the vertical seal. Once the window is lowered, you have a nice groove to insert number plate or something similar and tap. It didn't take much to sort.
-
A tip i found elsewhere on here stated to fully lower rear window, slide an old piece of number plate in the groove and gently tap to reseat the seal. Just to say that this worked for me nicely. Just don't hit it too hard for obvious reasons. :peek:

PM Sent. I have some springs available.

I think they would look really nice too.

I fitted a H&R -50 cup kit to my 54 2.0 TDI, and it has made a world of difference to the handling. impressed with quality of ride too; obviously a little firmer but still more than happy with it as the family car!

thank you, these are original wheels from Mercedes S-Class (S550,S600,CL550,CL600 and more...)
Ha! Thanks, the car just looks very nice with them on.

Sorry, but that sounds ridiculous! £1,100? Have they carried out the work already? I wouldn't have been happy for them to just go ahead and replace without giving you a quote for the work first.

Check the bottom pipes into and out of the intercooler, and check they are secure. You are right the clips that hold these together are weak. mine had a habit of popping off until I tie wrapped it in place! Ensure the whining noise isn't the tensioner pulley for the cambelt, I had the same noise on a golf a few years back, right before the tensioner let go and I wiped out a few valves! On my Octy I hear my turbo quite clearly as it spools and slows, but I have decatted and have stage 1 turbo, so put it down to this, but there is always plenty of power. Good luck with yours.

Looks great, I ran the H&R cup kit on my old Seat Ibiza Cupra 20VT mk3 and I rated the kit quite highly.
If you ever look to get rid/sell the 17" Pegasus alloys keep me in mind, one of my favourite non VRS Octavia wheels
Thanks! Still very fond of the Pegasus, there was a set on eBay for £100 with tyres, only ended yesterday, I was tempted myself for an extra set, but long drive to pick them up!

I believe the rears are pretty straight forward to swap, with no specialist tools required. Just need to disconnect lower bolt while safely on axle stands gives the clearance to remove and fit spring.
Might this be the best (worst) VRS TFSI dyno ever? Ideas for solutions?
