You lucky git. Mine was ordered on 24th and left factory on 14th march. Hope mine isn't far behind. Where is your dealer located?
My dealer is Platinum Skoda in Bath, not sure which port it would have come in to. I was very surprised to get the phone call to say it had arrived!
-
Mine was ordered on 22nd Jan, built on 11th March, and has arrived at the dealers today (23rd March). That's for a vRS hatchback, petrol, manual, in anthracite grey, with full leather, heated seats, parking sensors, maxidot, auto lights/wipers, & spare wheel.
Sounds like I got lucky with getting it from Emden to the UK then!

New tires always go on the back anwyay.
I always put them on the front ?
The logic is that older tyres with less grip on the front will make the car understeer, whereas on the back it would cause oversteer. "Popular opinion" (whether you think it's correct is up to you of course) is that, for the average driver at least, its easier to correct understeer than oversteer, and if uncorrected, is likely to cause less damage etc. than oversteer left uncorrected.

Definately check for any damage, scratches, etc. When I picked up my Audi, I found some scratches on the bottom edge of the front bumper. Quite noticeable as well, but fortunately the dealer sorted it quickly without fuss, just as it should be. I'll be checking my new vRS over carfully next Saturday!

Had a call from dealer yesterday to say it would be with them early next week, so I'll be collecting it a week on Saturday (26th), so exactly 9 weeks from ordering. I've choosen the number plate (nothing special or interesting on offer sadly), so now it's just twiddling thumbs until he has the delivery day confirmed and I can sort the insurance out.
I've asked him to order me a boot net, as I've always found it handy on the Audi. I'm also considering the plastic boot liner, and the large storage box that fits in the recess in the boot behind the passenger side rear wheel arch. Has any one got either, and are they worth it/useful/good quality?

Yes, sorry for adding yet another Anthracite vRS to the roads! Like most, I've seen so few - in fact, I'm not sure I've even seen a FL vRS in anthracite on the road yet, just the pre-FL special edition model. I'm sure the numbers of blue and silver vRS's will still outnumber the grey for a while yet To be fair, I was very tempted by both the blue and silver, but the grey won in the end (plus SWMBO preferred it )

How long have you had it on order?
The order was placed on 22nd January. To be fair, the dealer estimated 9 weeks for delivery from placing the order to handing over the keys, which is (hopefully!) going to be about right.!
-
Had a phone call from the dealer on Friday to let me know my vRS has finally been built, and is now heading to the UK! I'm hoping to have it parked on my driveway by the end of the month - is three weeks from build to getting the keys realistic?
Spec is:
- vRS TSI manual hatchback in Anthracite Grey
- vRS Leather Seats
- Heated front seats
- Rear parking sensors
- Auto dimming mirros, auto lights, & auto wipers
- Maxidot
- Spare wheel
Not sure if I'll be modifing it all, maybe just a few little tweaks rather than full on mods, though a remap is very tempting - probably best to run it in first
Anyway, not much more to say other than 'Yay!'. Definately looking forward to picking it up a few weeks time!

However, if anyone happens to see a used Petrol DSG under 2 years old with some toys on it then pease let me know!!!!
Platinum Skoda in Bath have a 10-plate petrol DSG vRS at the moment, in silver, as a demo car. It's the one I test drove back in January. Nothing special about the spec from what I remember though.
I'm actually moving from a diesel DSG (albeit an Audi A3) to a petrol manual. The DSG is definately the best auto box I've driven, but to be honest, while an auto is nice in heavy stop start traffic, I've missed having proper manual control too much, so it's back to a manual I go. I found the flappy paddles to be a bit of a novelty, and it's very rare I've used it anything other than auto mode. The pull-away delay still annoys me to this day. Nothing really wrong with the DSG, it just isn't the right gearbox for me!

Just gave the dealer a quick call to check on my order, and it's been assigned to build week 10. Ordered 22nd Jan, vRS Hatch Petrol manual in Antracite, with Maxidot, auto lights/wipers, leather, heated seats, spare wheel and rear parking sensors. Still feels like it's a while off, but still much better than a lot of people waiting for diesel's by the sound of it!

Hi all!
Not really new, as I've been a signed-up member on here for a long time, but I imagine I might actually start being an active member on here now as I've just placed an order for an Octavia vRS TSI! Currently driving an Audi A3 S-Line TDI DSG, and had an Ibiza FR before that, so not new to VAG, and I'm also one of the admin team on vagowners.co.uk. The wife also has a VAG, a Mk2 SEAT Arosa.
The dealer says that the latest comms from Skoda say to expect to delivery of petrol vRS's in about 9 weeks, so expect lots of questions from me soon!

Apparently seatforum.net has now been 'aquired' by the tt-forum, and they say:
Site has a holding page for now, and all content remains intact on our servers for future development... hmmm, doesn't sound like 90% of the site was deleted from the server then, does it

oooOOooo 5mins round the ring road from me
Will this meet involve a trip to the Mc Donalds there :P
keep us posted on details and I should pop along
Yup, no problem, I'll update this thread nearer the time, but the details shouldn't change. We don't normally go to McD's, we normally just head straight in to Bowlplex and people who want food just grab a burger from the place in the there. Not sure if we'll be bowling or playing pool this time round, we normally just decide on the night depending on who wants to do what!
The bowling is good Steve. I normally go there and whup the seat boys on their own turf. Got over 200 last time.lol, yup, I remember that! Would be good to see you again Jason.
-
Excellent, we already have one Octy vRS who comes most months (though sometime he hitches a lift with his brother who drive a SEAT Cordoba), so it would be good to see a few more Skoda's coming along.
-
Only used them once, and it was only to buy a single bolt, but they were very helpful and friendly, couldn't really fault them!

Just thought I'd let you know of the next VAGOwners.co.uk meet being held in the south west. It will be at the Longwell Green leisure complex in Bristol, at 7:30pm on 31st May. For more details, and to let us know you are coming, either drop me a PM, reply here, or go to Bristol May Meet - 31 May - Bowlplex - VAGOwners.co.uk for all the details.
Hope to see you there!
Note to Admin: Sorry if this isn't allowed, feel free to delete it if it's not

I tend to just have a look around and see whats going on around me. Tend to see loads of people picking noses

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Looks like SE are invading Briskoda!
-
OK. Well, Paul (CORDY_SXMAN) has already mentioned it, but at SEATenthusiasts we have local meets in the area, normally in Bristol. I'm actually the 'local host' for the region on SE. I'd deffinately be interested in setting up some joint meets with you guys in the future. Personally I won't be able to make the WSM meet, but would be good to get some joint meets going for the two clubs.
I'll put a post up here when we get our next meet organised, see if any of you guys are interested in coming along.
-
Hi folks.
Thought I'd register on this site. I actually own a SEAT Ibiza FR, but I know a lot of the members on Briskoda are also members on SEATenthusiasts (which is where you'll normally find me) and vice versa.
Anyway, main reason for registering is because I'm the 'local host' for SEATenthusiasts meets in the Avon & Somerset area, so I was thinking of trying to set up some joint meets with both clubs at some point.
Anyway, thats enough for this thread. I'll put a post in the 'South West' meets section of the forum later when I get a chance and see if any of you guys are intrested in some joint meets.

MK2 Octy VRS Non Facelift TFSI?
in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Posted
They don't use it as selling point now, they still call them the TFSI in the brochure for the vRS, so I'd be surprised if it was used as a selling point on the LE.
