Seat swap from Octavia VRS
Hi, Sorry if I wasn't clear. I had an Octavia vRS before and now have a Superb - so I can compare the seats but no idea about the swap sorry

Fixing C Pillar / boot trim on estate (combi)
OK, to remove that bit of trim (on an estate) Remove D Pillar trim (pulls off) 5x torx screws - 2 behind big hooks, 1 behind small hook at the back of the ye car, 1 behind D pillar, 1 where load cover sits Remove rear bench by unclippimg then removing isofix guides then pull up on front of bench Unscrew 10mm nut at bottom of rear seat side bolster Remove rear seat side bolster (lifts up and inwards into the car to release) Unscrew rear outer seat belt lower mount (large torx can't remember exactly) Feed seat belt though slot in trim to be removed Start removing trim - unclip Bowden cable outer from rear seat release handle and then manipulate to release cable Unplug torch or 12v socket electrical connectors and electrical connector for load cover auto release I think that's it I think that's it - all from memory and at your own risk. When reassemblimg obviously make sure seat belt mount is not cross threaded and torqued properly and rear bench socket clips should be replaced. Hope that helps!

Hi which bit of boot trim are you trying to remove? The black side panel with boot release handles, 12v socket, torch and supporting the load cover? On mine that gap was left because of a broken clip on that trim piece so you may need to replace, although according to LLL parts the right hand piece is no longer available as a new part , luckily mine was broken on the left...

Just an update. There are broken clips on the boot upper side trim where it connects with the C Pillar. I have a new one to swap out. Today I took the old one off, to summarise 1. Remove D pillar trim (just clips off) 2. Remove 5 torx screws on trim itself (1x on D pillar, 3x on / under baggage hooks 1x on luggage cover holder position 3. Disconnect 2x electrical connectors (for torch and luggage cover actuator) 4. Unhook Bowden cable for rear seat release 5. Remove rear seat bench 6. Remove rear seat bolster where rear airbags would be (has 10mm nut under rear bench) 7. Unscrew torx holding bottom of outer rear seat belt and thread belt./buckle though slot And it pulls off! The problem is I can't work out how to swap the rear seat release levers and luggage cover actuator to the new trim panel. Ran out of time for the school run so had to reassemble! Will have to do it all again! The bonus was I fixed my torch holder. I'll get there!

Coolant consuption in 2.0 TDI 190cv
It was done at 5 years which I'm pretty sure is skoda schedule (in the UK). Didn't really look at the water pump tbh just noticed a slow loss of coolant that resolved after the cambelt / water pump service.

Pretty sure you have to replace the whole front ARB complete with bushes, at least for oem.

Coolant consuption in 2.0 TDI 190cv
Approx 40k miles I think. Just noticed it was gradually losing coolant, it was due a cambelt anyway so bit the bullet. Not sure about the timing cover sorry.

Just to update this I was unable to resolve externally so bit the bullet and took the rear seat bench and side bolster out. The luggage cover support trim piece has a clip broken. I have ordered another one ( 3V9867761A9B9) from reading around I have a reasonable idea how to remove this trim - the bits I am not sure about are 1. How to deal with the rear seat release lever / cable 2. If I need to detach the seat belt and if so at the top or bottom and are any special precautions needed eg replacing the sear belt bolt or a specific torque? On the plus side it will give me a chance to replace the torch holder which is broken Garage wanted minimum 2 hrs labour + parts and weren't too keen Thanks!

Not an expert but on mine it was the waterpump - replaced with cambelt and problem sorted. Common issue.

Good stuff! And I agree the "comfort" seats in my MK3 Superb are significantly more comfortable than the sport seats in our previous Octavia vRS. It was "AGR-certified ergonomic seats" (and adjustable seat length as I am 6'2) which caught my eye as we are euro roadtrip regulars also...

Agree on the black detailing, think the superb suits a (little) bit of chrome. Though the upgraded ergonomic seats do sound nice...!

Hi, I've been a bit of an idiot and overtensioned the dog guard on my estate. Consequently the side boot trim under the window has unclipped from the C pillar trim which also now seems to be displaced from the headlining. Is anyone able to advise how to fix this? I'm imagining removing quite a bit of trim which I always seem to struggle with. Thanks!

I have B6 on my superb estate and I am very happy with the results - more specifics in my posting history. I asked my insurance company (LV now Allianz) and they said "we do not consider shock absorbers to be a modification" or words to that effect but goes without saying check with your own insurer. My post from another thread I have B6s (though mine is not a sport line) on standard springs - chose these over the special actives because of the reliability concerns you mention. The B6s I would describe as firm but not harsh. I had a Octavia vRS before and I think my Superb now feels a bit firmer though it's hard to remember exactly. The wallowy feeling and pogo style bounce over speed bumps is gone and it feels much more stable 'making progress' on bumpy windy roads as well as less lean on roundabouts and slip roads. No complaints from wife or 4 year old and baby sleeps fine! I find the car much more enjoyable to drive and safer from being more stable.
