Sorry but I have no info regarding clearance.

However will they be legal? Bigger rolling diameter will cause the speedo to under read and that is the problem.

Head gasket leak would normally be seen as an emulsion when the oil filler cap is removed.

RE my last post. On thinking about it the last statement.

Not sure how you would test it however.

I have only just got back to this.

Regarding the three reasons above:

(a) you have to remember to do it.

You also have to remember to carry the Faraday bag/tin box.

(b) you have to assume the system is working correctly, i.e. that the button-press on the key followed by the touch on the handle really has disabled Kessy.

If you are that concerned you can just test it while you are there. Walk away, wait 10 seconds and return with the key and touch the handle.

(c) you have to assume thieves have not (yet) developed a way to overcome that.

?? You are already making assumptions e.g. that the Faraday bag works, that the stationary key has switched off, being two that come to mind. The latter will be even harder to test

Thieves won't go to that much trouble in order to nick a Skoda. I'm not sure Skodas are nicked 'to order' to be shipped in a container to the Middle East. Range Rovers will be way ahead of you in the queue.

I don't understand?

Doesn't the procedure where you lock the car with the button on the key and then within 5 seconds touch the 'lock' sensor on the handle not work with the motion sensitive keys? This disables Kessy and means the car can only be unlocked using the button on the key.

Torch was deleted at some point. My 2018 does have it.

Our car was a 64 mile Skoda/dealer preregistered one. No umbrella. Dealer gave me one from stock, also too big. Decided life is too short to make it an issue. We had an umbrella that did fit so used that.

That effectively makes the car £2050 more expensive over the first 6 years than one under £40K.

I've been looking at 2.0 TSI DSG Sportlines which are either Dealer pre-reg's or ex Skoda management/loan cars with typically up to 1,000 miles, with an OTR of under £40k. Having said that my ability to 'customise' is somewhat limited, effectively just colour as most seem to have Space Save spare wheels added.

Isn't it the list price when new that counts for the extra VED, not the price paid?

Mine only get used when I need to do quick an overtake. Using the left paddle to drop a couple of gears feels marginally quicker than using the kick down. Holding the right paddle then puts the car back to whatever drive mode it was in before.

Isn't there something in the menus where you can set up that the doors lock when a certain speed is reached?

Try turning this off and see what it does. After a while see how it goes then turn it back on.

Same happened to me. No problem with the dealer he gave me another. But check the replacement fits. Mine was the 'standard' Skoda umbrella carried by dealers, it did not fit in the underseat storage.

I just left it, life's too short for chasing umbrellas.

My 2018 SeL has the removable bootlight/torch that was deleted on later models. I'm not sure but it's in my mind that the paddle shift was also deleted.

I think (not sure) the general situation regarding Council claims is that if they didn't know about it -tough. If they did know about it (i.e. has previously been reporter) then you might be in with a chance.

For your information I am not looking for replies for Fabias Octavias or Superbs. It would be nice if someone who had done it on a Karoq would give me some helpful advice especially as airbags are involved.
