  1. Can anybody help me? I have just lost the driving instructions form Waze from the panel between the Speedo and Tachometer. Up until yesterday there were detailed instructions in the Nav section of this panel, now all I get is a blank screen, If I use the Car Navigations system the instructions appear as normal. Any ideas, what have I done??? Waze is connected via Android Auto and all of the other elements seem to work fine. I have reinstalled Android Auto with no effect.
  2. Not sure which post you were referring to, neither I or others have mentioned being worried about this issue! I have facility which doesn't appear to work as specified and was asking fellow owners if they had experienced the same issue, I don't need replies from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about and who just wants to criticize genuine enquiries. I was once told if you have nothing to contribute to a debate - say nothing, you might want to try it, because I, for one, am not interested in your fatuous comments.
  3. I could not disagree more, our 1.0 115 BHP DSG is very nippy . The DSG box suits the engine and car perfectly. Happy to recommend
  4. I have a 3+ year old Kamiq 1.0 DSG, Over the past year, the stop start system rarely operates, even on a long run when the car was at full operating temperature. Does anyone else have the same experience, or have any ideas what may be the problem?
  5. My Kamiq [SEL with 1.0 petrol and DSG] does not have the option of the brakes remaining on until I drive off. The brakes do remain on for a brief period when I stop, but with my Superb, the brakes remain on until I drive off. My Superb [150 SEL with DSG 2021] has an electric hand brake, the Kamiq has a manual hand brake. Can this facility be activated via the cars system?

  7. Paying more for less never seems to make sense in my mind. Same engine same gearbox but despite the economics, I would always go for the car I like!
  8. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/profile/189197-rumbeard/ This guy in Australia sent me the relevant information for a Superb, I would imagine it is the same for an Octavia. You might want to contact him.

  10. We did 375 miles from Reims to Mont Blanc and the mpg was 57.6, although we took it steady and the car only had two people on board
  11. On Sunday 31st October I drove from St Gervais [ on the side of Mont Blanc] to Calais. The journey was 549 miles and including stops the journey took 8 hours 21 minutes. Most of the journey was on motorways and we were cruising at 80 mph [just below the max of 130 kph. Amazingly, we averaged 65 mph and 56.4 mpg for the day according to the trip computer [confirmed by filling the tank at Calais], the car was fully loaded with four adults and their luggage. I was impressed to say the least .
  12. I was told by the dealer that the system used by Skoda is not subject to cloning and doesn't need a Faraday bag. True or false??? Thanks for everyone's contributions
  13. Got me there! although in truth not really sure that I would fit the image that you have created😀
  14. David, this is exactly my problem. My car is usually parked in my integral garage, which is about 4 - 5 metres from my lounge. I often find the boot open and I presume it has been opened by the key fob in my trousers. On a few occasions the boot has opened when the car has been parked on the street, allowing access to the boot and rain to get in. I don't want to put key in a tin/box, or to leave the keys anywhere, when you get to my age it's hard enough to remember where I've put anything without adding they keys to the list of things I can't find. Some form of protection looks the best solution. Thanks for your comments
  15. Does anyone have the problem of the boot opening when you have the keys in your trouser pocket? I think that occasionally the button on the key fob is pressed when I sit down or move whilst seated. Is there any way to stop this happening, as I now have to check that the boot is closed almost every day?
  16. Thanks, perhaps I need to be a little patient. When I do this I seem to get streets, almost anything, but I have given up before completing the input. What do you think of the car. I'm very impressed great fuel consumption drives well, a good replacement for my 2013 L and K Estate.
  17. I have just purchased a new Superb 150 DSG SEL, I am really impressed by he car so far with just under 60 mpg for the first 1,000 miles. However, I don't seem to be able to input an address using a postcode. I'm sure there must be a way but I haven't found it yet. My car has the Amundsen system with the two knobs on the front panel, I have read posts suggesting that I press "City" and a Postcode entry button appears in the bottom left hand corner. This doesn't seem to work for me. What am I doing wrong, the Columbus system in my previous car was much more straightforward? Step by step advice please.
  18. Thank you both, I do hope I've made the right decision. After almost 8 years of owning an L and K 170 dsg estate and over 160,000 miles, I decided to move on. Current prices have forced me tomove down market to a 150 bhp SEL. I notice one of you have a 150, how does it go, what sort of fuel consumption do you get? My L and K averaged 46+ mpg over almost 160 K, I will miss the old car.
  19. I'm picking up my new SEL on Saturday, what should I look for. Any problem areas, any advice?

  22. Join the club, it seems that this is a common fault! My system shuts down on a regular basis. If the radio is on , I get a high pitched noise, everything freezes- I can't switch if off. After a few moments the whole system shuts down and then starts up again tuned in to a different radio station. It happens when I'm using any function, including Android Auto. It now happens about every 20 mins or so. I've taken it to the dealer, who can't resolve the issue but suggest a major system upgrade is on the way. I've tried to contact Skoda customer services, and there is a major operating system update, Contact your dealer and book it in. This will be the second update in the last two months, let's hope this one works better than the first. On top of this my Internet connected services plan [Skoda Connect] has ended, and Skoda want £80 [Not worth it my my view, even if it worked] for another year's access to a system that does not work, so far and surprisingly I've resisted the temptation to renew
  23. Booked in for the second system update in the last two months. Let's hope this one is better than the first. System doesn't seem very robust
  24. I have had the same issue with my Kamiq SEL. Apparently there is a major system update from the main dealer. Mine is booked in for Monday 6th August, this will be the second update in the last two months. I do think the system is a bit flakey and we are the manufacturers test programme Another related issue is that I can't use Skoda Connect which I had recently renewed at a ridiculous price. Who would charge you for a system that doesn't work?
