  1. Seats in (the previous owner cut the top of the passenger seat off to reduce the drag apparently!) Roll bar welded on and ally flues tank in Then I really splashed out and bought a sheet of 1x2m carbon fibre sheet to make the side panels
  2. What crash protection?! Haha. It's more of a weekend B road blaster than a motorway hack. I'm doing as much as I can to be 'noticeable' in it. The guy I bought it off took it to LeMans from Stockport! Don't think I'd fancy doing that trip mind you.
  3. New bodywork Harnesses cleaned New bearings front and back My tiny Mountney steering wheel versus the old mammoth one for a more sporty feel, lol Rubber chequer plate matting installed
  4. Cheers mate, didn't know that! What rear axle have you got?
  5. Chassis part painted Front stripped down Powder coated, shiny shiny Rebuilt Brakes rebuilt From To That's enough updates for tonight! Thanks for the comments so far!
  6. This is a bit of a retrospective project thread, as it's pretty much finished now, but I thought I'd drip-feed old updates on here to get people's opinions and comments. December 2013: Right, I've been after a project like this for ages and this one finally came up at a good price, so I went down to Stockport last Sunday and came down with this. It's is registered correctly as a bike engined Locost and comes complete with folders of paperwork and a spare 893 engine. I know it looks like a bit of a shed at present, but I'll get her back up to standard before long. If anyone on here is any good with auto electrics, I'd gladly use your help!! Rough plans: Sand and protect the chassis in full Get the engine running sweetly Fit new front suspension (rears already fitted) Refurb or replace the floor with aluminium instead of steel Make a whole new loom Source and fit a decent set of bodywork Refurb the minilites and put decent tyres on Maybe fit a flappy paddle shifter Maybe fit a full cage Tax & MOT and enjoy in the summer I'll let the pics do the talking: Rear sanded and painted Rear sanded and painted:
  7. I have one exactly the same as this that I'm selling if anyone wants more info. Just PM me
  8. Thanks very much marc1fabvrs, it's surprising how many positive comments they get. I often have random people telling me how smart they look!
  9. We are off to Scotland the last week of May and would like to take our two bikes with us. I have a Thule aero roof bar set with the rounded tops. I already have a boot mounted bike rack, but it scuffs the paint and I don't really trust it, so if anyone in the Hartlepool/Middlesbrough has a pair of racks I could borrow for that week to save me buying some for a one off, that'd be great. I'd happily collect and deliver them and leave a refundable deposit incase they were lost/damaged. PM me please if you anything suitable.
  10. -Is the material the sweaty stuff? -by zip at the back, do you mean the covers are zipped up the back of the seat as opposed to just sliding over from the top? -do the base bits of the covers just sit in place by means of elastic bungee cords? -is there any way you could check the fit on a mk1 Fabia VRS seat before I commit? Sorry for all the questions! lol
  11. First dibs depending on further info.....
  12. Hi mate, I work in Hartlepool most days. Dibs on front passenger door depending on price and condition please . PM me!
  13. Bloody hell Dark-Hero, that's mint! Looks like I'm not the first to do it! Yours looks like a pro job?!
  14. I was bored of my tatty looking carbon fibre wrapped grill surround, so decided to do something a little different. Take one wrapped grill: And some real carbon fibre: Lots of blood, sweat, time and carbon fibre splinters later, we have one real carbon fibre grill surround! It's not perfect and I still need to attach the badge, but I'm mega pleased with the results: This is the best pic in the sun: Comments welcome, along with any 'funky' ideas of what I could do with the badge recess if I choose not to reattach the original badge!
  15. Does it not unlock on the fob or the unlock switch on the driver's door handle? I think the internal handle of all the doors manually overrides the lock mechanism. My suggestion would be to whip the door card off and check the connections?
  16. Thanks again. It's not mega low actually, although the sump is dangerously close to some of the roads on my way to work! It's on coilovers, wound about half way down. The arch gap is deceptive on the photos, but it's about 10-15mm between the tyre and arch at the front and rear (wheels are 16" and tyres are 45 profile).
  17. Not sure why the pictures aren't showing, I'm on it now. Yeah, Compomotive ones are chrome 'domes' and fetch a bit on Ebay, hence why scum pinch them :(
  18. Finally got my new wheels fitted! Dead pleased with how they look, as I've been after these for ages. I need to get rid of the slight overspray on the tyres, which I'll do on Wednesday. I know they won't be to everyone's taste, but C&C welcome: (I do have the centrecaps, but we are currently renting until we buy a house and I can't trust theiving scum not to pinch them!) From this..... to this.... to this.... and fitted.....
