  1. Hi  ukcruiser

are you able to set up a wifi hotspot?

if I connect my phone with rsap, I am no longer able to set up a wifi hotspot to share with other passengers?

I see on the menu there is an option to set the DATA, but not sure what that does.

    Any ideas?

    regards

    Max

I have 2013 superb elegance, and HTC ONE (m8)

    Hi Max,

Sorry for late reply; not a Superb owner no more so only pop in once in a while...

using rSAP, shuts your phone down, as a phone, and the car becomes the phone, using it's own aerial. - So, would presume that's correct, you can't make a WiFi hotspot, as no data will directly pass through your phone!

    Hope that helps

  2. when i owned my Superb (170 4x4 estate) i put 18" winter's on new OEM rims (225/40/18) and it was unstoppable..

i changed to a Mercedes E Class (250 CDi) AMG Sport;  265/35/18 on the back - 245/40/18 on the front.. and it wasn't unstoppable, but unmovable in the snow! Big engine and 7-speed box, no where near the rear wheels leaving them very light.

For the winter, I now run 245/45/17 all-round with Pirelli SottoZero rubber and it'll hold it's own with RangeRovers on anything unto a few inch's. (I can't fit anything smaller due to the AMG Drilled-Disc's on this model) or i may have came down to 16's, or at least a smaller width.

  3. Have the transit bolts been removed by the dealer? There was a thread in one of the forums on here recently about this happening

Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk

Transit-Block's hadn't been removed from mine... until noticed at 1st service!! - Made, 100%, no difference what so ever!

  4. 35 mpg from a teeny engine in a 'we small car, is absolutely shocking, to be honest.

41.6mpg is the average, over the past 15,996 miles, from my 2.2 twin-turbo 7 speed auto diesel merc estate with 204 bhp weighing in at 1840kg kerb! - and this includes some miles with 1700kg's of caravan on it's back!

but i suppose that's the problem, with the modern way, of decreasing engine size, and having to make them work harder to get what you want out of them. take the new 1.0 125bhp fiesta for example...  claimed 65 - average 44

when dad bought his Yeti, he went for the 170 tdi 4x4 - he gets mid-40-something out of that too; he's got a bit of trailer towing in that.

  5. should be a good we' camera.... but be aware.

"There’s no card slot, either, as Nikon has packed it with a generous 7.3GB of internal storage, which is enough for more than 3,000 shots at the full 10.1-megapixel resolution or three hours of VGA-quality video."

ps. Accidentally clicked 2* on the rate this topic... didn't mean too - sorry!

  6.

Things along the lines of the air vents closing off when reverse is engaged or the screen washed, to avoid the smells entering the cabin.

I always thought it engaged re-circulation rather than shutting them off :)

Along with cornering function, Fog Lights should also come on, when engaging reverse, if headlights on & on auto

Rear-Wiper should wipe when engaging reverse, if auto wipers are on.

  7. i run Nikon's - D3, D3s, D3x - Other pro's run Canon's - 6 and 2 3's to be honest - i'm considering a change... to a Fuji X-T1 as they are believed to be excellent... as the current pro-nikon stuff is disappointing; £5200 for a D4s! pff, Naaa!

  8. i ran the Wintrax on my Superb 4x4 in 18" form - LOVED them.

ran them on my wife's Cee'd - Loved them too!

run Pirelli SottoZero's on my current Merc - not as good as the Vred's but they came at the right price with wheels attached ;)

  9. have you not bought the wrong car then? - my old superb estate 4x4 was a harder ride than my current e class 250cdi amg! - i can't say it felt like a boat....

but joking aside, i suppose it depends what you want to do with it - keep it a practical estate or give it the show and no go.

personally, i'm sure Skoda / VW put enough research into it, to give the best overall compromise.

  10. I sold my '09 VFR last week.... It just wasn't suiting my riding - I'm a smidge over 10 stone when wet, and around 5'6" and it was too cumbersome for me.... and I've always wanted a BigBlade to match my BabyBlade.

So here's my "new" 1996 CBR900RRT 'blade with a mere 19k miles on the clock.

Altho, she looks a bit weird with the new bunch last week!

She's had a full stainless system and K&N filter etc fitted - Sound's great and ride's really well for her age.

    Love it :)
