  1. well, apologies as not related to the subject, if there is a "review your stealers" section please move it there - > also a Meadens (Brockenhurst) customer(bought a several months old ex demonstrator) , at my last service mentioned a couple of issues , rear brakes (rusted disks, pads only biting kind of in the middle of the disk surface (and doing so unevenly anyway - known issue the rear break system for superb, easy to find pictured how it looks like on this forum) , a/the "master technician" concluded it is all hanky dory. brakes half biting ?? not to worry if car manages to stop, a family car that supposed to be safe ?? not to worry, it is still safe. it's still inside the warranty ?? well ,you can contact Skoda UK (me: what for if this apparently is not a problem ). 1 of rear door not closing as easily as others , need a proper whack so needs adjusting ...well, it is a none adjustable door they say, and the issue is due to the air pressure inside the car ...hahaha, they had me there. Other doors automatically detecting no "inside air pressure" and closing nicely , that special one happens to be rocket science ...suffice to say looking for honest independents which to be fair is also hard to find ..
  2. hi, Do you know what does the upgrade to 1440 add to the 1382 ? Currently on MHI2_ER_SKG13_P4523_1 SW MU version 1382, and wondering if this is worth upgrading to? Does it actually affect warranty at all ? still have 1 year left(private buy) so do no want to give them (skoda) excuses later down the line if somethings goes belly up ? ta
  3. thanks for the reply chaps, Usually I would go to TPS (UK based)) to get a genuine filter with Audi/VW/Skoda logos all over the place but due to the covid mess they do no do a walk in retail anymore so this leaves me with a Bosh/Mann branded one (which I know is exactly the same) filter that they(Skoda) may question if it ever goes to fuel system warranty call. You have almost convinced me to to either pay up, or live with the filter for another 10k miles
  4. hi I have a Superb 3 19 plate just before its major 20k ish service. The official mileage for the fuel filter replacement is 60k (!) but I would like to have it replaced at 20k (on my older cars liked to have them replaced every 10k which I did myself). Since the car is still in warranty that 20k service will be done at main Skoda dealer, and I was quoted £70, on top of £279 for a major service, to get it done. Having done all the servicing myself before (Altea 1.9 PD) I know it is a robbery. Would like to do it myself but not sure if this affects the warranty then, if no trace of fuel filter replacement is logged in the Skoda system and they find out later on(for any reason), does anyone know ? From a technical point of view it seems to be a standard cartridge type filter, does anyone know if it needs priming with VCDS at all after replacement if diesel still left in the housing? thanks
  5. just a bit of warning Was following this thread, and bought a set of LED lights for the estate boot that was recommended here i.e. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-LED-Footwell-Step-Glove-Box-Trunk-Light-VW-Transporter-Golf-GTI-MK6-Jetta-MK5/401851864123 apparently identical (?) to what super skoda offers but having an estate MY2019 (not a new facelift just 19 reg) can confirm they are not suitable as the connector pin shape and distance between is different i.e. the pins sit closer together now, and they are pin shaped, not flat headed like on the picture attached .... Any advice on what to get for the 19 plate estate ?
  6. I had fitted the Nextbase 522 to my MY2019 Superb a week ago. Not sure how much Halfords is charging for the privilege but if you have a trim removal tool set (or something slightly larger than the plastic trim removal tool provided in the box) then it is a 30 to 60 mins job (if you are very keen not to damage anything I actually used a suction mount, nothing bad about it (placed so that I do not even see the camera which is completely hidden behind the rear mirror from where I sit) I can confirm it keeps recording in stop/start situation (not keen on stop/start anyway, keep it off most of the time), and can advise that you will need two ferrite cores, one by the camera, one on he other side of the 12V-> 5V adapter (I used genuine nextbase hardwire kit). Otherwise you will experience DAB reception issue if only one ferrite core provided in the kit is used. Ask about it, and go back if they tell you it'll be all right when it is not ... HTS Stan
