  1. Afternoon all

Sooo the other evening the clutch pedal went straight to the floor and stayed there. There was brake/clutch fluid around the slave cylinder bleeder on top of the gear box and it was obvious the rigid hyd pipe had disconnected from the t-piece.

The retaining clip that should hold the pipe in place was rusted and kaput sooo a new one is required.

Does anyone know where to source a replacement clip ?  TPS / Skoda only supply the clip as part of a complete t-piece assembly. £50 is alot to pay when only the clip is needed !

    Thanks - Chris

  2. As the title states...

Hope this gives some light relief on first days back to work for most !

Basically just returned from a great weekend of climbing in sunny Yorkshire. Managed to find a set of OM roof bars last week on the bay of e and also got myself a roof box. Living the dream, love my rs even more now .

However check out the dents down the side ... beware of angry sheep attacking their reflection in your once mint bodywork ! If i hadnt seen it with my own eyes I'd have thought my car had been vandalised lol.  ( which it has but by a sheep )

    Baaaaaloks, Chris

  3. Desperately need vehicle models / part numbers for the 256mm rear NS brake carrier options on the VRs.

Currently car stuck on ramp with a sheared slider pin typing this on phone ..100 miles from home

Carrier to replace part number 1U0615425 from mk1 Octavia RS

Or anyone have 1 spare ??

Yes I've found the big brake thread but struggling to suss out the correct options

    Many thanks

  4. Thanks Glassy

should have been clearer.. The "current replacement" that is fitted (badly) is a TPS supplied VW screen, stamped VW in bottom corner. I have a choice once this is removed of the same, without seal/gasket or of a Pilkington supplied as pictured by yourself.

One issue that has come to light is that the current batch of TPS supplied screens apparently have some distortion (very slight inward warping) centre of the top edge. This has been stated by VW technical peeps. In fairness I didn't notice this with the one fitted currently.

  5. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys , finally managed to get the car back to the fitters .. I've a choice between the tps OEM  supplied screen which no longer come with the seal (pre 2006) or I can get a Pilkington glass replacement which does come with the original seal . VW no longer supply the rubber seal ??

Glassy , what are your thoughts ?

    Any advice appreciated

  6. Morning ALL

As per title, just had a replacement windscreen fitted via insurance company and now have a 5 -15 mm gap between the front edge of the headlining and inside of the screen ? Edge feels quite rough also. Cant say ive ever looked in that area ever but had to as my parrot microhone wire wont retain itself any more because of the gap...

Wondering if theres a seal of some sort missing or if theres any reason the fitters would have to cut the headlining back.

    Thanks

What about the FMIC? That's not modelling a good look either.

Hi Vinda! I've had a real good look with torch and inspection mirror at the fmic pipe weld , still looks intact and performance hasn't dropped atall. No extra smoke etc etc . Until it comes off to replace the rad I cannot be 1000 % certain. Im lucky to work at a large aerospace company ,if there's a pin ***** hole it can be filled ....

  8. So had the Forge FMIC fitted for 4 years now , along with hybrid turbo etc etc . No problems, 4 yes trouble free driving except an unrelated timing belt issue .

Last week my aircon emptied itself , closer inspection the bottom alloy intent/outlet pipe from the fmic has slowly chaffed through the condenser rad....

I know warranties are now out of the question but has anyone any experience of this In  their time with a modded fabia ? Bad design, bad install ?? Opinions/ experiences welcome.

All fitted by a reputable company at the time. Pic attached with fmic top mounting bolts undone looking down to Off side lower

Water pump siezed or tensioner issue? Something's caused that belt to go doo-lally.

They're saying that everything appears to be fine, just the damaged belt. It was also suggested that " something internal in the engine " may be the cause....

I asked them to check the tensioner stud for thread creep and didn't hear anything back.

    Roll on Wednesday
