Terrible sueak and rattle from a 2010 140 bhp Yeti. Very annoying. Could almost not hear it over the rattle of something under the bonnet. Forget it. My 9 year Audi has less rattles. Nuf said. Mike

Well, at last I drove one today on a test drive from the dealers. The impression I got? Well its a bit of a poor person’s 4X4. I was not impressed by the various rattles from the test vehicle, including the infamous A-pillar. There was a rather nasty noise from somewhere in the cars mechanicals (don’t worry about that Sir, said the salesman). After inspecting the car, I realised what it is: a very very soft 4X4, and hardly worthy of the title at that. I was vary disappointed. Not what I was expecting. Its fragile for a 4X4, even a cross over, and not for use in serious weather or adverse conditions. So its back to the drawing bard for me. What can I get for 23k that can cut the mustard in NE Scotland in winter for 23k. Quite a lot. Oh yes, it stalled a lot and had a curious non diesel like power delivery. Quite nasty really. Sic Transit. Mike

Ah - I see what you mean. OK if you buy it cheap on e-bay!

Supguard is completely useless and just a way for the salesman to male more money - a rip off. Get some good quality polishing kit and follow the advice given here: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/seek-advice.html Mike

Go for the 140 if you can afford it. Mike

Is there an Armourfend pack you can get for this car? Or a dealer fitted option? I wonder if mud flaps help? This is the 1st bad thing I have heard about the ?query? build quality. Or is it our terrible roads? Still an "off roader" should cope with a bit of loose gravel methinks....what do you all say? Mike - in Aberdeen - home of the worst road in the UK

Will send you a picture tomorrow of dog in car. I have a very powerful hoover for the inevitable mess...... Mike

I will wrap my dog in a towel / sheets or a romper suit to make sure he caused no damage. His is 35 KG. And he can jump into my wife's shogun from sitting - so I think it will be OK. http://www.bmdcos.btik.com/img/Open_Show_March_09/Meadowpark_Leading_Lady.jpg What type of dog guard do you have fitted? thanks, Mike

Saw a 140 BHP Silver one in central Edinburgh (EH3). I spoke with the owner, he was delighted with it. Never seen one anywhere else. Mike: Aberdeen

Hi All, Can anyone help me out with a few details? Is the suspension set up on the Yeti actually more beefy / stonger than a normal car set up? Does it have bigger / stronger springs and dampers for example? many thanks, Mike

My dog actuall looks a bit like a Yeti. If the dealer has the optional boot line all will be fine. Mike

Blimey Graham - you surely did not manage to drive your Monster away from that lot of snow....did you? Mike

Thanks for all the replies, test drive today and tomorrow so I will find out if my pooch can fit in. Mike

Graham, Hows it dealing with the potholes on our roads? Mike - Kinmuck

Thanks - Cockapoo - thats a rare breed! :-)
-
Ray - thats a very enigmatic reply! Have you by any chance got the actual dimensions of the boot floow with seats UP. thanks, Mike
-
Hi, I was wndering if the Yeti is capable of transporting one big dog in the back for journeys of 2 -3 hours, with the seats in their normal position & standard dog guard fitted. Mt dog is a 9 1/2 stone Bernese Mountain dog. Any dog owners out there who can advise? Thanks, Mike
-
Hi are these new options available in the UK? Cant see them on the UK web site. thanks, Mike
-
Ray - thanks for the great report - much appreciated, Mike !
