S-contact fuse had blew if anyone is having the same trouble

Think the guy went thru them all today with the multimeter and checked them........ I'll have a look again........or change the lot! haha Cheers for the info

Been to a local auto electronics place today and found out that there is no switched ignition live coming thru the cars loom and that the radio is actually ok....... The car is a Fabia VRS on a 04 plate, will the Can-bus system be affecting the radio at all or were the Can systems not fitted in this year? The OEM radio still works though. Any help will be appreciated, as the electronics place are suggesting running a fresh switched live from somewhere else to power the radio. Cheers Daz

Broke the stereo!

There is no voltage going through the switched ignition wire on the harness when the ignition is switched on, so i'm assuming that the harness is shot? kinda backs it up maybe with the original radio working when i plugged it in........ Anybody?

well normally theres one underneath the 16 pin plug aint there? this hasnt but it has one on the harness which i changed with no effect. will i have to take the radio to bits incase there is one hidden somewhere? nothing visible on the back of it.......

Hi guys, Had the radio out today to alter the position of the antenna booster as it had stopped working as it should...... Anyway, got the radio out and re-positioned the antenna booster to the switched live making sure it was that with a tester and it worked for minutes with an excellent reception and then it just went off and now there is no power going to the headunit at all........ tested the switched live again and turned the ignition on whilst testing with no reading showing. check the fuse in the side of the dash and its ok, changed the in line fuse on the permanent live on the harness itself.....still nothing! Unplugged everything and refitted the symphony radio and hey presto it works..... Any ideas because i am beat...........possibly the harness is knackered??? Cheers Daz

Well whenever I have used the car previous to the new battery, doesnt matter how long the ignition has been turned off it always displayed the MPG, Miles to next fill up, miles done on that tank, average speed blah blah blah, Didn't matter if the ignition had been off 2 minutes or 48 hours, it never reset itself until I done it manually. Is there 2 settings of which data I see on the dash because what is happening now sounds like the single trip memory that you explain but it has always been like the total trip memory previous to the battery change.... Hi all, My battery died on Monday morning on the VRS so I swapped it with a heavy duty suitable replacement that day. Anyway, since then when the car is started from cold the trip computer insists on resetting itself when the ignition is turned on to let the plugs warm up. If the car has been run and is still relatively warm since its last journey the figure on the computer stay as the were......... Any ideas? I used to have a Clio 172 cup and this was the sign that the battery was on its way out but this one is brand new........well off the shelf . Cheers Daz

Hi all, Picked my Fabia vrs up yesterday and came to use the rear wash wipe and found there to be no spray at all. Sorted one problem as the pipe had popped off where it goes thru the bulkhead but...... upon spraying the jet went straight backwards, had a look to find the bit where the jet comes from has sheared off. I have managed to source the part number which i think is 3B9 955 985A. What kind of price am i looking at from the dealers? tried scouring the web but cant find anywhere..... Cheers Daz

Hello peeps, Just been buying a 04 plate Fabia VRS in black magic paint??? anyway I cant wait to pick it up!!!!! Previously owned a clio 172 cup but it became very untrustworthy, so I am trying the German build quality for a change. Any words of advice? It has been mapped/chipped but the garage isn't sure who by unfortunately. Cheers Anyway Daz
