  1. Broadspeed pricing appears way off. Best I've found is Drive the Deal.
  2. I've been looking to order a 2.0 TDi vRS - the base price on DtD is £16k. Been to 4 local dealers now [bristol, Newport, Swindon, Gloucester], none have been willing to haggle much off the vat-free price of £17k - and that's with no part ex. I keep getting the "we only get 1% margin" story which I find very hard to believe when Marlborough can discount by nearly 6% through DtD. Will email some a little more further afield, otherwise it'll DtD for me.
  3. Popped into this dealership recently on a Saturday afternoon. The one sales person was busy with another couple, so had to wait ages to be seen, Told the salesman I wanted to place an order for a vRS but wanted somewhere near the DtD price. Sales person would only offer a tank of petrol off the usual vat-free price. So left.
  4. Ooo - I'm tempted by the grey but haven't seen many pictures. Grey owners - please post some pics!
  5. Have to say . . . silver is looking pretty good! Thanks for all your replies - would still like to see some pics of grey if anyone has one?
  6. Just about to order a vRS but still undecided about colour. White is favourite at the moment, but also considering black, grey and silver. Would love to see some pics of FL vRS's, especially in silver and grey, to help me decide (and lust over for c16 weeks!)
  7. Thanks for the tips on dealers willing to haggle near to DtD price. Looks like one of them will get my custom. Did call into Fish Bros in Swindon today, simply wouldn't budge off the VAT-free standard price. Would only chuck in mats and a tank of diesel. Still dithering over colour . . . . . white is nice (and cheap!), silver quite classy, saw a black one in the dealer today which looked very nice and also warming to grey now. Decisions decisions.
  8. Do you mind if I ask which dealer? Attracted by the DTD price, but would prefer a dealer in the south west or Midlands, as I guess DTD use London, East Mids, Scotland.
  9. Search the forums?!?!? You mean do some research myself??? Oh go on then
  10. Many thanks for the info. Its a vRS I'm after, preferred dealer is Capitol Newport but they need to get near DTD. If anyone has got better then DTD, I'm impressed!
  11. Popped in to enquire about a new Octy vRS. Very helpful sales chap (Richard), tied him up for several hours including an extended test drive. Good p-ex figure but couldn;t agree on a deal on the day. Was expecting a follow up after a few days but none came. However, generally a good experience, now I'm ready to place an order, they will be my preferred dealer.
  12. Agree with the last poster - not sure how they actually sell any cars. Popped in quickly one lunchtime to enquire about a new vRS Octy. 3 staff in the showroom, none of them seemed that interested to engage me. Asked for a price, chap quoted the standard vat free price. No offer of a seat, cup of coffee or anything. Asked about a further discount for no part-ex. They said they couldnt do anything. Even when I pointed out online brokers were £1200 cheaper, they wouldn't budge. Ok, they may be wanting to protect their margins, but the whole experience just felt cold and unfriendly - certainly not worth paying over the odds for.
  13. Walked into the dealership one Saturday afternoon to enquire about a new Octy vRS. Made for a chap sitting behind a desk reading a magazine, as he was the only one around. Only after standing there for what seemed like ages did he lift his eyes from the magazine and acknowledged my presence. He then had to go and find a sales person which seemed to take a while. Sales person was full of the usual flannel. After talking down my part ex, they offered 1/3rd what I'd been offered elsewhere, Had great satisfaction in telling them they were way off the mark and I'd be purchasing from the other dealership.
  14. I'm also intrigued by the Maxidot option. Trip computer is standard, so what does maxidot give? Any pictures?
  15. I'm just about to place an order for a TDi VRS based on the dealer's indicative 10-12 week lead time. Pretty worried if that could now extend into August, particularly as the car I'm running about in doesn't have much life left in it. What are the week 22 changes? Does anyone have experience of online brokers? Local dealer won't budge on price, but online brokers offering at £16.2-£16.7. Drive the deal appears cheapest - any experience?
