  1. There is another thread somewhere. Several people, myself included have used CR2032 batteries. They are marginally deeper but still fit ok and they seem to solve the issue...
  2. It is required. There is an offence of 'quitting' - it is an offence to leave a car unattended unless the engine is stopped and the handbrake is effectively set.... (only applies on a road or public place, not whilst you are on your driveway obviously)
  3. In that case then there obviously aren't any near me as I only get main dealers come up!
  4. Euroskoda is the same company as Azur - or at least it used to be so wasn't really inclined to use them but thanks anyway!
  5. Sorry, what do you mean by a service centre? Any particular ones?
  6. Was hoping for something a little closer to Chichester but thank you anyway. Had enough of the rip off prices at my local dealer. Was trying to get my mother's Citigo serviced. It does about 1000 miles a year and only really needs an oil change and MOT (plus you could also argue brake fluid but I was going to leave an extra year). They want just short of £300 based on the new servicing tariffs!!! Must have stated three times I only wanted an oil service -"that will be our minor service at £185 Sir!" No, I don't want the minimal number of cursory checks that you will do for that - I just want an oil change. "Yes, sir, that's our minor service..." and so it went on. In the end I told them I'd go elsewhere! My mum, in her late 70's, would have just accepted all the bull**** and paid up. My Octy is due in a few months - and according to the fancy new service matrix needs pretty much everything for about £420 - under the old tariffs it would have been £329.... sorry but that is too much.
  7. Hi, Can anyone recommend a decent independent garage for servicing in West Sussex or East Hampshire.... lost faith in the Skoda dealer I have been using...!! Thanks.
  8. Use CR2032 replacements instead of CR2025... I had exactly the same issue - the 2032's are marginally bigger and seem to fit better. They are a tighter fit but the key cover will go back on fine. However, I have found that whilst the first set lasted about six years all subsequent sets only seem to last for six months or so (in both my keys) - no idea why this should be. Always use decent Duracell replacements...
  9. I think the loop and clip to the left of the pic are for the emergency triangle to stow in.
  10. The headlamp washers also won't work once the washer fluid gets below a certain level. This is to preserve the fluid so that you still have some left to wash the windscreen when you are running low...
  11. I have 2014 Octy and printed off various service stuff from Erwin when I first got it. There was a replacement interval of five years for the alarm battery (which entails replacing the whole alarm unit anyway (I believe)...however, when I recently looked at Erwin again this seems to have been extended now to a six year interval...possibly because the whole process for replacement looks like a pain in the backside and you wouldn't want to do it unless really necessary...! So less than 4 yrs would seem a bit early for it to be on its way out...
  12. You find an Octavia manual and then cross out all the bits that don't apply to your model! I don't think you'll find any manufacturer that provides a specific manual to the model and options you have selected for your particular car...why would there be a specific one for a VRS...??
  13. Part of the trim for the seat release button in the top of the rear seats??
  14. I did ten miles with my mother-in-law in the passenger seat... does this count as longest journey?
  15. Doesn't it mean that the lights turn in all lighting system modes (i.e. the various different lighting modes that the car automatically chooses such as city, motorway, rain etc which are dependent on speed and conditions). However, none of the modes work UNLESS your light switch is in the AUTO position. Try it and see if that fixes your issue? I'm assuming you have XENON lights because you don't get anything with Halogen and I believe the new LED lights have a slightly different system which is less obvious....
  16. Your lights must be in AUTO mode rather than manually switched on for the dynamic mode to work?
  17. Is the icon normally green? It will only work in that situation...if it is amber it isn't picking up the lane markings but is switched on and trying to look for them. Maybe the roads you use don't have decent markings that the system can pick up? Could this be why it has only worked a couple of times and both times in the exact same location?
