Update…… now at day 78 without my enyaq, but getting used to the merc eqc replacement from enterprise. Not a peep from Skoda since my surprise visit to the dealership, where they tried to mug me off by telling me that my car was in the workshop being dealt with, unaware that I had walked around the premises and photographed it in a row of vehicles parked outside.

I have an Enyaq 60, less than 1700 miles on the clock and delivered after 10 month wait. After 6 months, battery failure, car totally unusable and taken on transporter to dealer for diagnosis and repair. Still parked outside dealership service bay, unrepaired after 72 days with no date given for return. I made a surprise visit to personally find out the status of the repair, only to be told a contradictory story to what had been relayed to me sporadically for weeks over the telephone. Tbh, I’m disgusted with the whole affair and don’t think I’ll be purchasing another Skoda, even though my previous 5 models were completely trouble free. The main excuse that is constantly given to me is that “we don’t have the tools to complete the repair.” The job sheets shown to me by the service manager showed a total of 16 hours worked on my vehicle, equating to 1.6 hours a week (so far).

I ordered my Enyaq iv60 on 11Dec 2021, with an estimated delivery date of 30 April 2022. No problem there then, i waited over 9 months for my first Yeti in 2009. 

I was told by the salesperson that my 2 year old Kodiaq Scout would get me a very good trade in price of £24,750.00, but when I showed him the text I had received from We Buy Any Car offering me £30,000.00 he exited for a 20 minute discussion with his manager, after which the trade in was revised to £29.000.00, which I accepted.

On placing the order, I was asked me how often I would like an update, and I agreed that once a month would be adequate, but to inform me immediately a build number was issued. Since then 'radio silence', apart from my emails and phone calls which were fobbed off with various excuses, not once leading to a conversation with the original salesperson. So yesterday (Tuesday 7 June '22) I decided to call into the dealership in person. Greeted outside by a female salesperson who was not at all receptive, I was asked curtly what my business was (she had incorrectly assumed I required the service bay and had come in the wrong entrance). On explaining why I was there and whom I had called to see, I was informed that he wasn't at work, but she would make enquiries for me on his behalf.

The outcome was that as yet there isn't a build order for my vehicle,  but they had just received one for a similar Enyaq ordered in October '21. She commented that as Skoda have stopped taking any more orders for the iv60, there may be a possibility that they are working to clear those models first, but that's only her opinion. On leaving the dealership, I was offered a lame and rather hollow apology, which I grudgingly accepted with reservations. I had not felt welcomed, in fact it felt and seemed that I was just being a nuisance.

I am not kicking off about the lead times, as they have been subject to so many variables from Covid, chip and wiring loom shortages through to factory shutdowns and the war in Ukraine, but on the very poor service that I have received from the Skoda dealership. This will be my 5th Skoda, and has been the worst experience of customer relations that I have experienced thus far.

Got call from dealer informing that my Edition is on the continent at BW38, awaiting delivery to a U.K. Port. It's 16 weeks since order placed. Somehow, with the long wait and recent news concerning the continuing hounding of motorists who haven't joined the 'clean' brigade, the magic seems to have faded somewhat............I hope it lifts me when I collect......

This is for an order placed on 9 April, with an estimate of 12-14 weeks wait. So at a probable 16 + weeks, it already has shades of extended delivery time, as happened with my first Yeti. That began with a promised 3 month, and ended after a 9 month wait. I was kept updated regularly by that dealer, with the excuses ranging from a heavier than expected order book to problems with the panoramic roof supplier, allegedly being unable to cope with the demand. At 74, my clock is running down............hope I get it early enough to enjoy......!! Hey, ho, my second L&K Yeti, at 3 yrs old, is still an excellent bus, and but for the introduction of the Kodiaq I'd probably be waiting for the next generation Yeti.

as an afterthought, maybe the wait would have been shorter if I'd opted for the 2.0 Diesel, rather than the 1.8 petrol?

poss I will keep, but unsure atm because of the way things are going with the deisel/petrol/electric. Went back to the dealership this morning to clarify the order as there were several items that came across as 'included' in the catalogue available, but are in fact 'extras'. The dealers have limited info it seems, and only had their first demonstrator delivered on the day I had the test drive. I found more info online using the configuration than at the dealership.

I ordered last Thursday. 2.0 TSI 180 Edition 7 Seat DSG 4x4, Moon White, Panoramic Sunroof and 19" Sirius Alloys.

£10.500 Offered part-ex for my 63 Plate L&K manual Yeti (32,000 miles), then £302.41 per month PCP. I was told it would be a 3-4month lead-in to delivery (beats the 9 months gestation period for my first 61 Plate Yeti!) I had a test Drive of around 5 miles on Thursday, felt pretty good, although would have preferred to have it for a day or two!

Dunno where your'e looking but when we were looking for a skoda yeti last year we did a auto trader search and it came up with 20 in total over the whole uk and none of them where greenline models so i would say its the opposite there are not many at all for sale used

I think a large percentage of these second-hand Yeti's are demonstrators. Perhaps whilst determining the popularity of the Yeti you should be looking at the new car end of the market, ie the long waiting list for the SM - usually a good indicator for most popular products.

Take it from me, book a test drive and you will be, at the very least, pleasantly surprised.

I've now had my Yeti for a year and have done about 8000 miles in it. So for me it's still early days yet and there's not much I can say that hasn't already been covered by other contributors more eloquently than I can express. In summary: it's done what I expected it to, it's comfortable feels solid, it hasn't gone wrong, fuel consumption has been OK - not as good as previous Octavia, but to be expected given it's a 4x4 and must be pretty good compared to other makes. It's coped very well with family use. I had been concerned I'd miss the cavernous boot of my previous estate, but the Yeti's is just big enough on most occasions. I did have to use a roofbox for the Christmas holiday trip south to carry the vast/obscene amount of presents - maybe someone can inform me of the appropriate collective noun - a 'sleigh' of presents? The height of Yeti isn't ideal for fitting and ease of use of a roofbox, but in the scheme of things a small inconvenience. Overall, I'm very happy with it and will probably keep it for several more years.

To me of more interest has been the year of posts in this forum. I found this forum by searching for waiting times and got drawn in to reading the often informative, interesting and entertaining posts. There are some people on here who are very dedicated to helping others, or maybe they just have too much free time, but whatever, thanks to all of you and to the moderators for running the site. While I do occasionally look at other forums on Briskoda this is the one I read most.

If there were awards for 2011 forum posts, this would be my starter list with an apology first of all for those of you I've not mentioned as so many of you make worthwhile regular contributions. For the Haynes manual award of technical help I'd nominate The Plumber, also a future contender for lifetime achievement award throughout Briskoda. For the Blue Peter award of 'here's one I made earler' - 900000 with special mention for silver steelies. For services to off-roading Rockhopper and Llanigraham. Funniest post, well - that's even more subjective - in the debate about acronyms vs abbreviations,I think it possibly started off about a topic on DMFs or SMFs, there was for me a particularly succinct gem from Bobdog. Controversy of the year award goes to our correspondent from Taiwan for his choice of user name that can't be named any more, though a close run thing with winter tyres, Shell fuel, moving of posts to a better site on Briskoda (glad nearly everyone stayed in the end) ..... I could go on and on with categories, but I'd better get my wife some breakfast before she complains I'm wasting time on 'that site' again.

You did well to get it for "something short of £1500". I run two satnavs in my car all the time (don't ask; though i could explain) both hidden from view... Total cost £100. Indeed this is the only car I own where, wherever you put/hide the satnav(S), they work perfectly. In all my other cars they have to be mounted on a sloping window.

I will ask you Freedie - two at the same time?! I did use my old Navman for a week or two after getting he Yeti a) to use whilst aquainting myself with the Columbus & to check the mph against the car speedo readings. Unfortunately I gave it away thinking It would be of no further use (how wrong can you be) I would be interested to know why you use the two-please dont tell me one is for the wife/girlfriend/partner?

Lee & All, Thanks for the info, that particular syndrome dosn't seem to apply. the Columbus was factory fitted, car supplied new from Preston Motors-I took delivery on 15 Dec last year. Preston Motors was the nearest (friendly) dealer when I first went looking at the Yeti (the only dealer in greater London that replied to my request for a test drive). However, Citygate, a VW dealer in Colindale, recently opened a Skoda dealership not a half mile from my home, so I booked in with them for the Yeti's first service. It is since then that the Global Positioning has run amock. It started by indicating my position to be in the Potters bar area (Hertfordshire) when I was actually leaving work in Deptford S E London).

By the time I arrived home, a journey of 17 miles, the satnav corrected itself & was there or thereabouts on track. This situation lasted for a month or so,then would not correct itself at all. As previosley stated,for nearly a week now my position is shown somewhere S E of Munchen in Germany, even though my journey to & from work remains the same. I am somewhat annoyed that an extra costing something short of £1500 has malfunctioned after less than a year! Apart from that, no compaints about the Yeti at all, it's all I hoped it would be & more. Is there an answer to this problem, or I am going to have to return to a dealer?

I have one for you, concerning the Columbus satnav on my Yeti. Since it's first service in October this year my positioning on the screen has varied from being close to actual through to 5 to 20 miles out - until the last 4 days where I am positioned in Germany, around the Berlin area.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Last car before my Ugly Yeti (term of endearment)was a M-Benz C class 220 cdi elegance (with the first of M-benz CR diesel engines). I find the comfort level in the Yeti is far superior, ride is a little harsher (to be expected-as previously pointed out, horses for courses), handling is far superior.The only rattles I have encountered are on the dash, this is definitely from the silver plastic trim around the speedo & tacho nacelles but only seems to occur during the warm up period. Two weeks ago today at the first service-9000+ miles- the dipstick reading was at 'full' (never had a top-up since new)-shame they still had to change the oil!, the tyre pressures (original tyres) were spot on (never had an air top up since new-I have relied completely on the TPM, the tread wear on front & rear was even & the same depth across the whole tyre (6mm front, 7mm rear) & no faults were found elsewhereSince then, the only problem I have had is with the Columbus system satnav-it does not locate my correct position & shows me miles away, usualy off road!-maybe it's trying to tell me something! Seriously, that is the only fault so far, I am delighted with the Yeti. If anybody has had a similar fault with the Columbus satnav, I would be pleased to know if the problem has been solved?

[1.8 whine noise on startup]

Back in the fifties, when I learnt to drive (in a bedford 5 ton lorry) - that's when you had to 'double-de-clutch' to change gears as there was no syncro-mesh, I was taught always to depress the clutch when starting as this releases the pressure plate thus taking loading from the same, giving easier starting & prolonging battery life etc, etc. Oh the joys of crank starting the lorry on a freezing morning when the battery was on the wane!!

[Sunroof and Roof Bars]

My Yeti has a sunroof. When I go on holiday to the coast I need to put my beach fishing rods on the roof as they are too long (8ft. tip on one of them) to fit inside the car, so I obviously need some roof bars (catalogue no:- LAS630001) to put them on. My query is; as the sunroof opens onto the top of the roof rather than under it in the traditional way, will fitting the roof bars impede the opening of it??? :S :S

Has anyone come across this given the rarity of sun roofs on Yetis? My local Skoda garage don't know.

I know this might seem like a bit of a numpty question, but I don't particularly want to load up the roof and then find the sunroof gets stuck on the load as I go to open it.

I fitted Thule aero roofbars last week, no problem with clearance to panoramoc roof, either tilted or part/fully opened. Front bar I have fixed at the forwardmost point of the three screws to the inside face of the roof rails (therefore approx half-way along the sliding portion of roof) and the rearmost is fixed between the second & third screws to the inner face of the rails (almost at the limit of the fixed rear roof panel).

I ordered my Skoda Yeti 170bhp Elegance on the 27/11/10 and was told by the salesman that delivery is March. After pestering him for a build date by email he eventually phoned me and the build date is week 20,mid May so 3 weeks for uk delivery makes this June...... wish I ordered a Freelander 2 now ffs.

As a Yeti 170 Elegance owner who waited 8 months for delivery after first being given a period of 10 to 12 weeks (albeit with panoramic roof), I can honestly say to you that it is well worth the wait. If you really like the car then hang on in there! I believe that it is far better to wait for what you really want, coming straight from the production line, rather than to collect a vehicle that has been parked up for months in a dockside car park. Whatever you decide, happy motoring.

Do you have the factory spare fitted?

No, didn't opt for that one. My partner has the 'gunk' & inflator kit in her Polo & it works quite well. I know a full blowout or tear would not be repairable in this situation, but I dont mind wqaiting fo an emergency call out if that situation arises, plus I have an abject fear of tyre changing on M-Way hard shoulders-from a previous near-miss experience. But I see where you are coming from as the optional spare would compromise load area capacity, although I don't know by how much.
