  1. Hi Have an airbag error light on the dash. Is there anything simple I can check first before contacting the garage. Car is a 2019 Octavia saloon 1 litre petrol DSG. Mileage 29000 Was transporting lots of stuff with back seats down to the local tip and came on just after, could I have moved a wire/connector ?
  2. Hi Skoda garage a while ago put my car on a different servicing schedule as I do low mileage. Can someone remind me what this is likely to be called…I’ve forgotten. Car is a Octavia 2019 saloon Ddg 3 cylinder.. it’s done only about 27000 miles and oil change/inspection indicator is coming up on screen….what service is this on the plan….I apologise for my ignorance here. Putting it into local garage I am happy with rather than Skoda as intended to keep for a while plus wasn’t really happy with cost and previous Skoda dealer service I had. thanks John

Bought the Citigo and very happy with it, feels like a bigger car. Thanks again for all the input.
  5. It’s a complete new mirror unit/housing that was fitted electric only. Was hoping the wires for heated would be there……I know it’s a long shot.
  6. Just purchased used Citigo which needed a complete wing mirror unit replaced on passenger side, done by local body shop. Was replaced with one which was perfect colour, silver same as car, electrically adjustable but non heated ( the old damaged one was heated, glass was broken and previous owner added stick on glass on top of the broken glass so didn’t have the tell take marks of the heated glass). Garage had trouble sourcing a complete replacement and got one off e bay which as said was silver…perfect match. Happy as no paint spray job needed but would have preferred it heated. Can the glass be removed and changed to the heated one. At the moment only heated mirror on drivers side….if not possible may live with it? thanks

Thanks for all replies and advice
  8. Hi Been offered a Skoda Citigo elegance 1.0 late 62( 2012) plate for £2400 private sale. 50000 on clock and recent new clutch and front brake pads. All MOT in past shows only failed a few times due to tyres and irregular disc surface( can’t remember exact wording.) Seller is relative of trusted friend who is going abroad to live. Is this a good deal and anything I should watch out for with car of this age, still to look and drive it. It would be for my wife - short distances, mainly city driving so low yearly mileage thanks
  9. Hi Have the dreaded message - only leave leave vehicle in position P. Please visit the workshop car, Octavia DSG 2019 and only done 25000 miles. Really annoying, have read this is a micro switch fault and common….obviously a manufacturer issue. What are people doing regarding repair: I am reluctant to put into a Skoda dealer due to expected costs. Any suggestions regarding a cheaper alternative. I live in the Glasgow area. Car drives fine, plus fault comes and goes. thanks john
  10. Thanks, the learning process continues. ✔️
  11. Thanks good to know. Had looked at the general service /maintenance guides only which just says DSG. Appreciate info and can rest easy. Just the brake fluid to change. cheers
  12. Hi Previous posts have outline the servicing maintenance guidelines for my car and after failing plugs and coils which are now fixed: I realised that the dealership, if on the basic service won’t highlight work to me work required as I expected. I am a service plan and not a customer; that’s my take on it so going back to my local garage. Now taking charge now of my cars destiny regarding servicing/ maintenance. I tend to keep it for a long time. My car is a dsg Octavia SE technology petrol 1.0 litre. 2019 so over 4 years last July 2023 I can now see brake fluid replacement is over due which I am going to do via local garage but on schedule DSG oil states 40000 miles or 4 years…as car is only at 23,500 miles- I feel to change now may be a waste of money? Any opinions here ?
  13. Sorry my mistake should have been 4yrs or 40000 miles spark plug change on Skoda servicing site. Think that is correct ? The info provided has been great, thanks Rooted especially for all service info…will keep that. I will make sure in future I am aware what is being done and not assume that everything is being sorted or flagged up to me. note had a boat with a Volvo engine and did all the servicing required. I will take a similar approach, perhaps doing the simpler tasks on my car or at least paying attention to what is required/when. A good garage should flag things up, call you and let you decide, I expected that with Skoda/Hendry garage I used and was wrong. cheers
  14. This is at the bottom of the oil and inspection service on Skoda site 1. Please note that depending on the age and mileage of your vehicle, additional items may be due during your Oil and Inspection Service. These include, but are not limited to, pollen filter, spark plugs (petrol vehicles only), air filter (petrol vehicles only) and diesel fuel filter (diesel vehicles only). I assumed they would at least highlight them to me ??
  15. Looks like the service doesn’t cover much, but costs a lot in my opinion. Who really would know this unless you are familiar with the plans….when it said service/oil change and the car lets you know and you book it in you would assume it’s getting looked after, something as basic as plugs at 4 years so important should be done, it must out weigh the pollen filter. You would think that they would ask you or let you know even if it an extra cost ??
  16. Having been on here regarding spark plug and subsequent coil failure following a recent service i got a reply to my review of Henry’s North Glasgow —-here is the reply Hi John, I am sorry to hear your Coil Pack failed. You're quite right when you state we change a pollen filter as recommended but don't check or change the spark plugs. The spark plugs are recommended at 40,000 miles, which is part of the Service Plan you were offered but declined. Your coil packs failure was unfortunate timing. Likewise, we didn't change your timing belt or tyres as they too were not recommended but are still open to potential failure at any given time. May I wish you all the best in the future. Keir M Dunlop, Retailer Principal, Henrys Skoda. does this mean if out with a service plan if you book in for a service as indicated on the car you will not be offered a spark plug change. It says on the Skoda web site 37000 miles or 4 years… had 2 services at Henry’s….my last one was Jan 2O24 and car was over 4 yrs (2019 July manufactured) and plugs/coils failed which was risky on the motorway as lost power fairly quickly ( Skoda Octavia se technology. Petrol 1.0 litre. thanks
  17. Post it there too thanks
  18. Hi Put in previous post regarding plug and coil failure of my skoda 2019 se technology 1.0 at 23,500 a few days ago. Was serviced by this dealership 2x since I purchased it, last time was January 2024. Plugs were removed after break down plus 2 coils on 2 cylinders by RAC. The dealer said they would not do plugs/check them at this mileage. However most reply’s I ve had here are 4yrs/or so many miles change the plugs. They will check all the smaller items on tick list, change oil but not plugs? It’s not part of the service plan I was told. Surely plugs are anintegral to the running of engine. Was told car was good when it left them. Not happy as could have been dangerous as I limped slowly off the motorway. I went to this garage as though as a dealership though they would look after my car. I am not happy with the service and now worry for other people thinking Skoda Henry’s is looking after their car !!!!
  19. Thanks changed it to fixed after the second service as low mileage, thanks for pm

  21. appreciated
  22. Thanks when you say regap, does this mean if I buy a replacement plug, I need to do anything regarding gap in the plug? Going to call skoda about last service a number of weeks ago and why plugs were not replaced.
  23. Here is a pic of the 2 plugs that were removed
  24. Hopefully once the last one is replaced all will be fine and I can relax eventually. 👍
  25. Will pop a pic of old plugs as asked the RAC guy to give em to me
